"Vincent"
The life and art of Vincent van Gogh is presented in a dazzling new light. The multimedia musical tells of a complex man with a ruthless drive to create and a deep-seated desire to love and be loved. It shows his search for love, through reimagined versions of popular musical theatre, pop, rock and jazz numbers.

"The King of Broken Things"
The production is a journey into the broken heart of a young boy, a journey of discovery through his experiments, projects and creations.
Through his love for discarded objects, this production teaches us the importance of reparation and how all things, seen and unseen, can be mended, creating new things from old, where the rehabilitation of things broken and discarded includes people and hearts.

Upcoming show Esokuqala This play is set to make waves as it embarks on a three-stop tour across KwaZulu-Natal This production weaves together music, dance, and drama, telling the poignant story of a family of doctors caught in a spiritual conflict between traditional and contemporary belief systems. As they grapple with the ancestral powers that influence their newborn child, "Esokuqala" poses vital questions about spirituality in modern society. Featuring a 25-member cast of both established artists and emerging talent from the region, this performance promises to provoke thought and reflection on faith and family dynamics. WATCH: Grand collapse at the museum - tourist sits on a priceless crystal chair and breaks it!
Museums are like giant 'Do Not Touch' signs with exquisite lighting. And yet, for some of us (yes, me included), the temptation is just too strong. I mean, if something has survived 4,000 years, surely it can survive a gentle, reverent touch - right? That was my logic years ago when I lovingly ran my fingers over an ancient Egyptian stone tablet in the Nubian Museum in Aswan. The hieroglyphics were breathtaking, and I was completely entranced… until a very polite curator tapped me on the shoulder and explained (with a smile that said 'you silly tourist') that no, the artefacts are not meant to be stroked like a golden retriever. The priceless crystal chair incident that has sparked online cringe Fast-forward to today, and it turns out I'm not alone in my museum misdemeanours. In Italy, a crystal chair inspired by Vincent van Gogh's famous 1888 painting Van Gogh's Chair was recently damaged by a tourist who did more than just look - he sat. Yes, really. CCTV footage from Palazzo Maffei in Verona shows a man and woman taking turns to pose next to the museum's prized piece, a Swarovski crystal-covered chair by Italian artist Nicola Bolla, created between 2006 and 2007.

'Spring Awakening' dominates at the 2025 Naledi Theatre Awards
The event, a celebration of exceptional talent, recognised performers, designers, production teams and staging crews across various categories, covering everything from children's productions to fringe theatre, as well as dance and student theatre. South Africa's biggest night in theatre unfolded on Monday, June 16, at the South African State Theatre, where the prestigious Naledi Theatre Awards honoured the crème de la crème of the performing arts industry. This year, the spotlight was firmly on the critically acclaimed production, "Spring Awakening", which dominated the awards by clinching an astounding 10 accolades. Among its many triumphant wins were Best Production of a Musical, Best Ensemble in a Musical, and the coveted Best Director of a Musical, awarded to Sylvaine Strike, who tackled her first musical with this innovative project. Another standout production of the night, "Ka Lebitso La Moya", walked away with four prestigious awards, including Best Production of a Play and Best Director of a Play. Actor Josias Dos Moleele, who received the award for Best Male Lead Performance in a Play for his role in "Ka Lebitso La Moya", delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech. "I didn't even prepare a speech. I just want to thank Momo Matsunyane, the State Theatre for allowing this play here. To be recognised by the industry, judges and the people you love." He continued to express gratitude towards his family, dedicating the award to his child, who he referred to as a star, and concluded with a touching homage to God, saying, "this is for him". In addition to the award-winning productions "Spring Awakening" and "Ka Lebitso La Moya", the night also acknowledged the talents behind works like "The King of Broken Things", "Expelled", and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - The Ballet".
