Seenda Sleek JP-064-3 review: budget-priced keyboard and mouse combo kit

Seenda Sleek JP-064-3 Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse Combo is an ultra-affordable set-up that works equally well with both Mac and Windows computers and laptops.
The pairing comes in a few colours but I reviewed the black matte units that look sleek and professional in an office environment.
The multi-device compatibility means you can connect up to three devices and switch between them quickly and effortlessly using the designated buttons on the top right of the keyboard. There are two Bluetooth connections along with a USB-A receiver.

Along with their suitability for Mac and Windows, the full-size QWERTY UK keyboard and matching mouse are also compatible with iPads and iPhones along with Android handsets and tablets. Setting both devices up is simple and quick. Seenda Sleek JP-064-3 Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse Combo (Image: Seenda)
The rechargeable-by-USB-C keyboard battery provides up to 200 hours of use from a single three-hour charge thanks to efficient energy management. There is a welcome auto-sleep battery saving feature along with on/off switches. The mouse can also be recharged by USB-C and unlike Apple's Magic Mouse, you can still work with the mouse while it is recharging.
In everyday use, the devices do all that is asked of them. The scissor-switch keys are a joy to type on and the ultra-slim mouse feels comfortable for both your fingers and wrist but over prolonged use someone with large hands especially might experience the weakness of the ultra-slim design and wish the ergonomics on the mouse were better.
If you are someone who works on-the-go a lot or travels frequently for work, the light weight and portability of this combo should be a major plus point. You can bring these peripherals anywhere with ease.
Despite both devices feeling so lightweight, the build quality suggests they should be durable enough to last despite the entry-level price point.
One caveat to note is the keyboard is not backlit. Seenda Sleek JP-064-3 verdict
If you are on a budget and use a multitude of devices on a regular basis, you can't really go wrong with Seenda Sleek JP-064-3 (also known as SKM-064-3). Price comparison
Apple Magic Keyboard and Mouse costs €204 from Apple . Microsoft Surface Arc Mouse costs €89.99 from mcirosoft.com. Logitech Pebble Keys wireless keyboard costs €54.99 from Currys. Seenda Sleek JP-064-3 pricing and availability
Seenda JP-064-3 Keyboard and Mouse Combo costs (at time of publication) €47.19 at Amazon.

Everything to know as Penneys app finally coming to Ireland

Penneys have announced that they're releasing an app for customers looking to shop for their entire range. It's been wanted for as long as shopping apps have been a thing, and yet it never seemed like it was going to happen, until today, as Primark (what they call Penneys outside of Ireland) have announced that their new app has launched today (August 5). The app will allow customers to have the full Penneys experience in the palm of their hand, while still allowing the thrill of seeing an item you didn't previously have on your radar but might want to pick up a la a real Penneys in-store experience. Penneys have announced that they're releasing an app for customers looking to shop for their entire range. Pic: Chrisdorney/Shutterstock The new app allows people to browse the shops' newest trends and style inspiration wherever they are, with a stock checker allowing them to check and see if an item that catches their eye is available in their local store. A built-in store locator provides ease of access to the shop's opening hours and directions, while the favourites feature allows people to save items they may like for their next visit. You're also able to have personalised notifications to stay up to date on the latest arrivals, collection launches, and exclusive updates, all delivered through the app, which allows for effortless navigation. Alas, there's no delivery option (but hey, if you're looking for something specific from Penneys, it's convenient that you can check!) The app will allow for people to browse Penney's collections from their phones, while they'll also be able to check and see if an item they want is in store. Pic: Penneys 'We know our customers love the buzz of a Penneys store — from discovering the latest trends to picking up everyday essentials for the family,' Fintan Costello, Head of Penneys Ireland and Northern Ireland, said. 'Our digital channels are driving shoppers into our stores, and so with more people browsing online before they shop, the Penneys app extends that experience, offering a convenient and inspiring way to explore our ranges anytime, anywhere. Whether at home or on the go, now it's never been easier to connect with Penneys.' The app will allow people to check if there are items available in their local stores. Pic: Penneys The Penneys app is available in Ireland from Tuesday, August 5, and is completely free to download. Anyone with an Apple device (iPhone, iPad etc) can download them HERE, while people with Android devices can download them HERE via the Google Play Store. Alternatively, you can go on to your respective App Store and search Primark/Penneys.

DJI Mic Mini review: is this the best compact wireless microphone set-up?

I recently reviewed the entry-level DJI Osmo Mobile 7 smartphone gimbal which I tested alongside the firm's entry-level Mic Mini. It impressed me so much it deserved a review of its own. If you engage in any sort of content creation, the decent quality audio recording you get from DJI Mic Mini will enhance all your videos. It's also so portable, discrete and versatile that you can use it to boost how you sound on everything from voice notes to zoom video calls. READ MORE: DJI Osmo Mobile 7 review: entry-level gimbal punches well above its weight in features and functionality READ MORE: I've tested DJI Mini 4 Pro and it's a solid ultra-portable drone for both beginners and pros DJI Mic Mini everyday use The Mic Mini receiver attaches to your camera using a cold shoe mount (Image: DJI) DJI Mic Mini has a similar dual-transmitter and all-in-one charging case design to the more expensive DJI Mic 2. As well as the two compact transmitters and case, you get a receiver, a pair of wind-shields, a soft carrying bag, an extra set of wind-shields, a 3.5mm audio cable and a USB-A to USB-C cable. The transmitters feature omnidirectional microphones and have a handy magnet attachment for attaching neatly to a shirt or jacket. An Auto Limiting feature automatically prevents your audio from clipping. The receiver offers a cold shoe mount and 3.5 audio jack for use with a camera and a USB-C adaptor for use with a phone. It looks like an imperfect fit on any phone but slots in nicely on cameras. Mic Mini receiver attached to a smartphone (Image: DJI) But as the transmitters can connect to your phone directly through Bluetooth, you don't need to use the receiver with your handset. The Bluetooth connection works seamlessly with the DJI Mimo app, third-party video apps and DJI Osmo gizmos such as the gimbal or the excellent Pocket 3 camera. Mic Mini gives you manual plus or minus 12db audio level control and enables you to capture excellent quality audio with a minimum of fuss. The quality difference in audio recorded on a phone's microphones and Mic Mini is massive. I have used it now for a couple of months and found it to be consistently reliable. I've experienced no glitches. Coverage is rated at up to 400m and its noise-cancelling holds its own in both busy and windy environments. There's also a handy Auto Limiting feature that automatically prevents your audio from clipping. DJI Mic Mini other features The compact DJI Mic Mini charging case (Image: DJI) The 48-hour battery life is superb and means you can wear it all day every day at work if you wish. One thing to note is that unlike on the more expensive DJI Mic 2, the Mic Mini transmitters do not have any internal recording so you essentially have no back-up audio. DJI Mic Mini verdict The portability of the package means DJI Mic Mini can be taken anywhere and the ease of use means you can be up and running quickly no matter what set-up you are using. Audio quality is superb for the price point. It's a package that delivers great value for money. Pricing and availability DJI Mic Mini (2TX + 1RX + charging case) costs €169 from but it's currently reduced to €127. There are several purchasing options: individual components, one mic and receiver (currently €67) or the complete kit we reviewed which contains two mics (with magnets), one receiver, a charging case and wind muffs for the mics. You can also buy DJI Mic Mini from Amazon which is offering 25 percent off at the time of publication. Other products in the same category include Maono Wave T5 Wireless Microphone Combo which costs €109 on Amazon reduced from €145 (at time of publication). Small Irish firms 'have not yet explored full potential of AI', survey finds

Just 40% of small Irish firms have implemented AI in some form across their business, but its use remains 'shallow' and is mostly confined to content generation and simple data analysis, a new survey has found. According to research conducted by Amárach on behalf of the Small Firms Association, 8% of firms have already incorporated AI into most of their business areas, while 13% said they had started incorporating it into some of their business. A further 19% said they had started to experiment with AI in some business areas. Another 22% said while they had started looking into how AI might be used in their business, they had yet to start using it. Small Firms Association director David Broderick said while the survey showed that although small businesses were interested and curious about AI, "adoption remains shallow among small firms as it is mostly confined to content generation and simple data analysis, rather than innovation, product development, or decision-making'. 'Therefore, many businesses have not yet explored its full potential,' he said. Mr Broderick added small businesses needed to 'adopt AI strategically to keep up with large businesses to survive'. In total, 357 companies were surveyed as part of this research. Of the firms who use AI, 66% said it was utilised in their sales and marketing, including content creation, while 44% said it was being used in their data analytics. It also found 35% of firms had implemented the technology in chatbots and customer support. Read More John Whelan: Every penny of available Apple cash needed to back Irish AI development
