Jordan: Mild weather to continue through Tuesday, heatwave expected by Thursday
Temperatures on Monday dropped to seasonal averages, bringing moderate conditions in most parts of the Kingdom, while relatively hot weather persisted in the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba.
Tuesday's weather is expected to remain stable, with continued mild temperatures in most areas. The Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba will continue to experience warmer-than-average conditions. High clouds will linger, and northwesterly winds are forecast to be moderate to occasionally active, according to JMD.
A slight warming trend is anticipated on Wednesday, bringing relatively hot conditions to most regions. The Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba are likely to see hotter-than-usual temperatures. Winds will gradually shift from northeasterly to northwesterly.
By Thursday, a more pronounced rise in temperatures will mark the beginning of a heatwave, JMD said, with relatively hot conditions are expected even in the high mountain areas, with the rest of the country experiencing full summer-like heat.

UAE: Thunderstorms, rain expected in some parts over next two days, says NCM
The UAE will experience thunderstorms and rain in some parts over the coming two days, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said on Tuesday. This is due to the fact that the region will be affected by the extension of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and its movement from the south towards the country, along with the advancement of surface and upper-level low-pressure systems from the south. According to NCM, moist air masses are flowing from the Arabian Sea and the Sea of Oman towards the country. Take a look at the following map shared by the met authority: Daytime temperatures will rise, and due to the presence of the eastern mountains, convective clouds are expected to form over scattered areas, the centre added. From Wednesday to Thursday, some eastern and southern regions will be affected, extending into some internal areas. Convective clouds are also expected, accompanied by rainfall of varying intensity, with lightning and thunder at times. Winds will be south-easterly to north-easterly, moderate in speed, becoming fresh to strong at times with convective clouds, raising dust and sand and reducing horizontal visibility. Sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman.

Rains expected over Oman areas till August 21
Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman is likely to be affected by a trough of low pressure for five days from August 17 till August 21,2025, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said. The CAA said that the latest weather updates and analysis of the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre indicate that Oman will be affected by a trough of upper air with clouds advection over most of Oman governorates. There are chances of isolated rain of varying intensity and occasional thunderstorms over Al Wusta, Dhofar, South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah and parts of Al Dakhiliyah. Details of daily weather condition: Sunday 17 August 2025: Continuous clouds advection and chances of isolated rain, occasional thundershowers over Al Wusta, Dhofar, South Al Sharqiyah, and North Al Sharqiyah.
