Jordan: Mild weather to continue through Tuesday, heatwave expected by Thursday
AMMAN — A significant rise in temperatures is expected by midweek, culminating in a heatwave across most regions by Thursday, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).
Temperatures on Monday dropped to seasonal averages, bringing moderate conditions in most parts of the Kingdom, while relatively hot weather persisted in the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba.
Tuesday's weather is expected to remain stable, with continued mild temperatures in most areas. The Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba will continue to experience warmer-than-average conditions. High clouds will linger, and northwesterly winds are forecast to be moderate to occasionally active, according to JMD.
A slight warming trend is anticipated on Wednesday, bringing relatively hot conditions to most regions. The Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba are likely to see hotter-than-usual temperatures. Winds will gradually shift from northeasterly to northwesterly.
By Thursday, a more pronounced rise in temperatures will mark the beginning of a heatwave, JMD said, with relatively hot conditions are expected even in the high mountain areas, with the rest of the country experiencing full summer-like heat.

A National Centre of Meteorology forecaster said on Tuesday the average maximum temperature for May was 40.4°C – compared with overall maximum averages from 2003 to 2024 of 39.2°C. The average temperature for May was 33.2°C – compared with the historical average of 32.2°C. Rain on the way Residents venturing to the Northern Emirates for the public holiday are also set to encounter high temperatures and the prospect of rain. The NCM's online weather map shows that rain is projected for Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, as well as Al Ain, on both Saturday and Sunday. Maximum daytime temperatures in Ras Al Khaimah are forecast to remain at 39°C from Thursday to Sunday. In Fujairah, temperatures will hovering around 40°C, though the NCM forecasts the wet weather in store on Sunday to bring with it a drop to 34°C. Temperatures are set to rise on Monday, as public and private sector employees return to work. The NCM's weather map projects Abu Dhabi to bear the brunt of the heat, with daytime temperatures of 43°C in store. The weather centre expects temperatures to reach 40°C in Dubai on the same day.

UAE weather tomorrow: Light rain expected; partly cloudy day ahead
The day will be fair to partly cloudy tomorrow, the National Centre of Meteorology has said. Low clouds will appear Northward and Eastward with a probability of light rainfall, the authority said. Light to moderate winds will blow, freshening at times, with a speed of 10kmph to 20kmph, reaching 35kmph. Temperatures could be as high as 43°C in the country. Mercury is set to rise to 36°C in Abu Dhabi and 35°C in Dubai. However, temperatures could be as low as 26°C in Abu Dhabi and 27°C in Dubai and 25°C in internal areas. It will be humid by night and Saturday morning over some coastal areas with a probability of mist formation. Levels will range from 15 to 80 per cent in Abu Dhabi and 35 per cent to 80 per cent in Dubai. Conditions at sea will be moderate to slight in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman sea.

Rains expected in some parts of Oman during Eid holidays
Muscat: In some parts of Oman, cooler temperatures are expected during the Eid holidays. Starting on Wednesday and continuing till Thursday, the weather expert at the Oman Met Office said, "There is a chance of low cloud advection over the coastal areas of the Oman Sea. "The weather pattern could bring in early morning or afternoon rain on Thursday, Friday and Saturday," according to the weather forecaster. During this period, the temperature could be around 35 degrees Celsius to 36 degrees Celsius. Over Al Hajar Mountains, there could be rains during the afternoons. Low clouds or fog formations are expected over the coasts of the Arabian Sea. On Tuesday, the weather forecast stated it would be generally clear skies across all governorates, with some parts of the northern governorates of the Sultanate of Oman affected by suspended dust. Satellite images had been showing parts of the northern governorates of the Sultanate of Oman continue to be affected by suspended dust, causing a relative decrease in horizontal visibility due to the dust wave. Satellite images indicated that a dust storm was coming from the Islamic Republic of Iran toward the coastal areas of the Sea of Oman. Weather experts had been warning that this could cause reduced horizontal visibility in the coming hours. Dust storms are expected in Zamaim, Haima and Yaaloni and Marmul. There are chances of low clouds/ fog patches at late night and early morning over parts of South Al Sharqiya, Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates.
