Dancing with the Stars tribute to Donald and Melania Trump stuns audiences

Daily Mail2 days ago
Israel's ' Dancing with the Stars ' took an unexpected turn this week when two of its dancers delivered a routine paying tribute to Donald and Melania Trump.
Viewers of 'Rokdim Im Kokhavim', the Israeli version of the hit competitive dance show, were left stunned by the performance by two professionals who dressed as none other than the president and the first lady.
The routine went viral on social media, with viewers applauding its uncanny accuracy - from the performers' mannerisms to their exaggerated, Trump-style flair.
Dancers Taylor Malkov and Haim Pershtein kicked off the routine on a stage seemingly styled to resemble a flashy Fourth of July celebration, complete with massive American flags dangling from the ceiling.
As red, white, and blue fireworks lit up the backdrop with star-shaped projections, the dancers stood on a red carpet behind a podium - dressed in spot-on replicas of what the president and first lady wore to this year's inauguration.
The lookalikes stood solemnly, placing their right hands over their hearts as the National Anthem played.
With pursed lips, the faux president leaned in for a kiss - only to be hilariously brushed aside as the Melania impersonator, true to form, coldly waved him off.
The Melania double then adjusted her partner's tie, just moments before the tone of the performance took a dramatic turn.
The music suddenly switched to the iconic 'YMCA' by the Village People, just as the duo hurried down the few steps to the dance floor.
The makeshift Melania ripped off her hat and tossed it aside, just as her fake husband caught up, helping to shed her navy blue dress to reveal a sparkling American flag leotard complete with a patriotic tutu.
As she struck a pose to showcase her outfit change, the Trump dancer launched into his own take on the president's signature move - energetically pumping his fists one at a time to the side while swaying his hips along to the beat.
They then unleashed into a full-on dance routine, executing sharp choreography that the president himself would be hard-pressed to replicate.
Despite the polished professionalism of their routine, the Trump character made sure to include abrupt gestures and bold facial expressions that captured real Trump's unmistakable quirks.
Ahead of the show's live airing, the dance partners teased fans with a sneak peek of their costumes on Instagram, as Taylor Malkov shared several photos of the duo striking poses together.
Each pose mirrored now-viral images of the real White House occupants, including the iconic inauguration day moment when Melania famously dodged her husband's smooch.
'So after so many comparisons about the similarity between my father and Trump, and as a US citizen, we knew exactly what iconic characters we were making for tonight's special,' Malkov wrote in the translated caption.

'We prepared a fun and funny number for you,' she added. 'Just seeing life as Trump is pissing. We love you in levels and are waiting for you on the floor.'
Clips of the light-hearted routine quickly spread across social media, racking up millions of views and sparking a wave of reactions online.
'Well you know President Trump is popular if someone is imitating him!!! That was awesome!' one comment read.
Another wrote: 'This is so silly and fun, and with all that's going in in the world, I really appreciate this smile.'
'Dance with the Stars TV show featured one of the pairs dressed as President Trump and Melania Trump, and they absolutely killed it. This is a must-watch, said a third.

Gal Gadot backpedals her comment blaming anti-Israel sentiment for Snow White box office failure

Gal Gadot recently pointed to anti-Israel sentiment for the box office failure of the live-action remake of Disney's Snow White. And now, the 40-year-old Israeli actress is backpedaling on her statement. After a clip of her discussing the film's low turnout with Israeli TV show The A Talks circulated on Friday, she used Instagram to clarify her comments on Sunday. The Wonder Woman star wrote to her 107 million followers: 'I was honored to join an extraordinary interview with inspiring interviewers, whose questions go straight to the heart. 'Sometimes we respond to questions from an emotional place. When the film came out, I felt that those who are against Israel criticized me in a very personal, almost visceral way.' Gal noted, 'They saw me, first and foremost, as an Israeli, not as an actress. That's the perspective I spoke from when I answered the question.' And she wrote via Instagram Stories, 'Of course, the film didn't fail solely because of external pressures. 'There are many factors that determine why a film succeeds or fails. Success is never guaranteed.' Gal starred in the film opposite 24-year-old Rachel Zegler, whose 'free Palestine' comment divided fans ahead of Snow White's release. It was widely speculated that there was a behind-the-scenes clash between the film's two leading stars. The so-called 'feud' was believed to be over their opposing views on Israel's bombardment of Palestine. Despite the heavily rumored friction, the two ladies were pleasant and professional while promoting their movie, which came out on March 21. There was previously controversy surrounding the remake of the classic cartoon as the studio gave it a politically correct revamp. In 2022 Rachel supported the contemporary take on the tale, telling Vanity Fair, 'It needed that.' Actor Peter Dinklage also weighed in, slamming Disney for remaking what he called a 'f***ing backward story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together.' Amid the backlash, the large scale premiere meant to be held at Leicester Square in London was cancelled. 'Disney are already anticipating an anti-woke backlash against Snow White and have reduced the media schedule to just a handful of tightly controlled press events,' a source told People at the time. It was added: 'That is why they have taken the highly unusual step not to host a London premiere for the film and are minimizing the amount of press questions that Rachel Zegler gets.' Gal said in her viral interview, 'I was sure this movie was going to be a huge hit. And then…it happened,' referring to the October 7, 2023 Hamas attacks that provoked Israel's latest onslaught on Gaza. 'And you know, this happens a lot in various industries, including Hollywood: there's pressure on celebrities to speak against Israel,' she alleged. Speaking to an audience of people in Israel, she said, 'I can always explain and try to give context about what's happening here, and I always do that. 'But in the end, people make their own decisions. And I was disappointed the movie was so affected and it didn't succeed at the box office. But that's how it goes.'

Sally Rooney, fame doesn't give you the right to fund terror

My usual rule is not to hold the morals of the artist against the art. But in Sally Rooney's case, I find myself breaking this rule, largely as it's no great sacrifice to do so. Her self-regarding prose is as conformist and mean-spirited as her politics. But the politics are openly evil. Rooney is one of those haters of Israel who is so dedicated to the cause that she has made it her most talked-about feature, a personal crusade on a level only matched by the equally pale and sour-faced Palestine fanatic Greta Thunberg. In 2021, Rooney stonily refused to let the Hebrew publisher Modin buy and translate her book Beautiful World, Where Are You? out of commitment to the cultural boycott of Israel and Israelis, a campaign that in some jurisdictions is classified as anti-Semitic. Her commitment to Israel's sworn enemies is now being tested by her brazen support of Palestine Action, designated a terror group in July after it broke into RAF base at Brize Norton and did millions of pounds of damage, committing sabotage and posing an aggressive threat to national security. Rooney's insouciant entitlement is quite something. Like the rest of her deranged crew, only when it cracks down on violent criminality in the name of Palestine does she think Britain has a problem with free speech and 'political policing'. Like Thunberg, Rooney is posing as a law-defying martyr for the Palestinian people, standing up to the global conspiracy (as they see it) to gaslight those who truly see (like them) the (non-existent) genocidal Israeli appetite for the blood of innocents. She wrote in the Irish Times this weekend of her decision to send all her earnings from the BBC's adaptations of her novels to Palestine Action. 'If this makes me a 'supporter of terror' under UK law, so be it,' she wrote. 'My books, at least for now, are still published in Britain, and are widely available in bookshops and even supermarkets. In recent years, the UK's state broadcaster has also televised two fine adaptations of my novels, and therefore regularly pays me residual fees. I want to be clear that I intend to use these proceeds of my work, as well as my public platform generally, to go on supporting Palestine Action and direct action against genocide in whatever way I can. If the British state considers this 'terrorism', then perhaps it should investigate the shady organisations that continue to promote my work and fund my activities, such as WH Smith and the BBC.' What a smug cow. Rooney resides in the Republic of Ireland, not the UK, and is an Irish national. But if she were to land at Heathrow and then proceeded to publicly donate money to Palestine Action, Rooney ought to be fined for all the money she tries to give to the proscribed terrorist organisation, and a lot more beside. That money could then be used to fund the British armed forces, which could do with some of her millions, not least to help repair the damage done at Brize Norton.

Gal Gadot finally breaks silence on woke Snow White as she claims she was pressured over Israel

Gal Gadot blamed anti-Israel sentiment for the box office failure of the new politically correct live-action remake of Disney's Snow White. The movie was dogged by controversies, many of them involving the leading lady Rachel Zegler, who came under fire for polarizing public statements including 'free Palestine ' and her denunciations of the original animated feature she was remaking. Zegler's casting itself was a hot button issue, as she did not physically fit the original Grimm's fairy tale description of her character as having 'skin as white as snow.' The seven dwarfs also became a source of debate - seven little people were initially cast, but then after criticism from Peter Dinklage they were replaced with actors of varying physical descriptions 'to avoid reinforcing stereotypes,' leading to another backlash that prompted Disney to go back to seven dwarfs but now in CGI. However Gadot, 40, an Israeli who served in the IDF in accordance with the draft and has been an outspoken advocate of her country, has now indicated that she feels opposition to Israel caused her movie to flop. 'I was sure this movie was going to be a huge hit. And then…it happened,' said Gadot, referring to October 7, in an interview in Israel that has gone viral. 'And you know, this happens a lot in various industries, including Hollywood. There's pressure on celebrities to speak against Israel,' she argued. Speaking to an audience of people, she said that 'I can always explain and try to give context about what's happening here, and I always do that. 'But in the end, people make their own decisions. And I was disappointed the movie was so affected and it didn't succeed at the box office. But that's how it goes.' Gadot insisted that she 'really enjoyed filming this movie, really,' prompting an audience member to slyly interject: 'Especially when it wasn't with Rachel Zegler.' Rumors circulated last year that Gadot and Zegler were feuding over their divergent opinions on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. But when her co-star was brought up to her on Israeli TV, Gadot said: 'I even joyed working with Rachel Zegler. I laughed, talked and had fun.' In the run-up to the movie's release, Gadot was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the controversies surrounding the project largely involved Zegler. Jonah Platt, a son of the movie's producer Marc Platt, even publicly slammed Zegler for her various political rants an claimed his father flew cross-country to 'reprimand' her for 'dragging her personal politics' into the film's promotional tour. Her initial casting as Snow White was a lightning rod of contention, as Zegler herself did not have the 'skin as white as snow' that the brothers Grimm had described. In 2022, while promoting her then-still-in-development new remake, Zegler also made scathing remarks about the original 1973 animated classic. 'There's a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird! Weird,' she said of the old movie. 'So we didn't do that this time.' Another controversy began in 2022 when Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage - who himself has dwarfism - denounced the percolating Snow White remake for having a 'backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together.' Almost immediately thereafter, the little people who had previously been cast for the movie were jettisoned from the project as Disney declared it hoped 'to avoid reinforcing stereotypes from the original animated film.' Other actors with dwarfism then fiercely criticized Dinklage to Daily Mail, arguing that he had reduced the number of jobs for actors with their condition. 'It makes me so sick to my stomach to think that there are seven roles for dwarfs that can't get normal acting roles, or very few and far between roles, and now they are gone because of this guy,' said one of them, Dylan Posti. 'Peter Dinklage is the biggest dwarf actor probably of all time but it doesn't make him king dwarf.' An on-set photo surfaced showing that the 'seven dwarfs' had been replaced by a racially diverse set of 'magical creatures' of various heights and appearances. The photo was deluged with such a tsunami of online mockery that Disney initially denied it was genuine before finally confessing it was.
