Sport must go on: Ganguly on India-Pakistan Asia Cup clash
As per the schedule, arch-rivals India and Pakistan are clubbed in Group A and are set to face off at the Dubai International Stadium on September 14.
'I'm okay with the schedule. Sport must continue. What happened in Pahalgam should never happen, but we can't let that stop the game. Terrorism must end. India has taken a firm stand against it, it's in the past now. Sport must go on," Ganguly told PTI.
The T20 tournament will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9 to 28.
India will begin their campaign against UAE on September 10 and are expected to play all their matches in Dubai. India and Pakistan could also meet again in the Super Four stage on September 21.
Group A comprises India, Pakistan, UAE and Oman, while Group B includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Hong Kong.
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) will allow 17-member squads for the 19-match tournament, with matches scheduled in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
While the BCCI is the official host, the tournament is being held in the UAE as India and Pakistan have agreed to play only at neutral venues till 2027 due to ongoing cross-border tensions.
The two countries had come close to the brink of war following the Pahalgam attack, to which India responded with Operation Sindoor. PTI ATK KHS KHS

However, the young talent's lack of readiness for top-level challenge was exposed by the Bazball brigade, as openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley hammered his first spell. Kamboj did come back with the wicket of Duckett on 94 but finished the innings with disappointing figures of 1 for 89 off his 18 overs, going at an expensive economy rate of 4.90. Even as India searched for inspiration in a collectively poor bowling effort and conceded a mammoth 669 all out, Kamboj was barely called upon by skipper Shubman Gill, who instead banked on his spinners – Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar – to provide him some control. Anshul Kamboj To Be Dropped, Kuldeep Yadav Can Come In India's 11 For 5th Test: Report

The Indian men's team has reportedly lined up several changes for the final Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. According to a report in PTI, pacer Anshul Kamboj, who made an underwhelming and visibly nervous debut in the fourth game at Old Trafford, is set to make way for fit-again Akash Deep. The report said left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has also recovered from his hand injury and could be ready for a chance. Although head coach Gautam Gambhir declared all pacers fit after the draw in Manchester, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj have bowled excessively throughout the series and might be rested. Bumrah has already played the three Tests he said he'd be available for, but with the series on the line, it could change. If it doesn't, Arshdeep could have a good chance to come back. Meanwhile, the report added that the case for Kuldeep Yadav coming in is 'stronger than ever' and he could come in for all-rounder Shardul Thakur. Thakur scored a decent 41 with the bat in the first innings but bowled a measly 11 overs across the Test for no wickets. 'So Kuldeep, we are trying to find a way for him, but it is just (that we need) more consistent runs from our top six, so that we can bring a guy like Kuldeep in," India bowling coach Morne Morkel said earlier in the series. 'It's finding when he comes in, how we can find balance and how we can get that batting line-up to be a little bit longer and stronger. We've seen in the past that we've lost wickets in clumps. Kuldeep is world-class and he's bowling really well at the moment, so we're trying our best to find ways for him to get in," he had added. While these changes would be confirmed later, one substitute is certain: Dhruv Jurel is coming in for Rishabh Pant. Pant is injured and ruled out of the series and Jurel, who was already keeping wickets in the previous game, would come in full time. 'They have played all your bowlers since morning and taken it to a draw. They have worked hard, so you want them to leave their hundred?" the former off-spinner fumed. India eventually called it a draw once both Jadeja and Washington brought up their centuries. It was Washington's maiden Test ton. Both Ashwin and legendary Sunil Gavaskar said they would have had India bat mandated 15 overs. 'If I were the Indian captain, I would have played the entire 15 overs," Ashwin said. Ashwin said India were well within their rights to refuse to call it a draw with the two batters going for their milestone. 'There were two reasons: one, you didn't want to tire your bowlers. Fine. Second, you were frustrated and thought, 'If I'm not happy, you shouldn't be either'. That's not how cricket works," he added. India are still trailing 1-2 in the series, but it's far from over. The visitors still stand a chance to fight and level the series with a victory in the final Test which begins on July 31 at The Oval in London.
