Did Tom Hanks Lash Out At Paparazzi At The Phoenician Scheme Premiere?
Tom Hanks and Bryan Cranston portray basketball-loving brothers in the film.
Tom Hanks gave the photographers more than just good angles at the New York City premiere of his film The Phoenician Scheme. The premiere was held at Jazz at Lincoln Centre on Wednesday, May 28. While posing for photos, Hanks found himself the subject of some light teasing from photographers who joked that the official studio photographer was taking too long.
According to Page Six, the 68-year-old actor smiled and gestured towards the rest of the photographers, saying, 'I want to be right where [the other photographers are]," making it clear he was ready to move down the line. The moment got even funnier when he turned towards one cameraman and jokingly shouted, 'Shut the f*** up!" The comment made all the photographers burst out laughing.
Hanks wasn't the only one having fun. Bryan Cranston, who plays his brother in the film, also joined in. When someone pointed out that his tie was a little crooked, the Breaking Bad star responded with: 'My tie is askew!" He even thanked the photographer, saying, 'Thanks for letting me know my tie was askew."
Cranston kept the humour going, saying, 'I'm going to come out with a line of ties called Askew!"
Both actors took time to pose for group photos with director Wes Anderson and the rest of the cast. That included Benicio del Toro, who plays fictional tycoon Zsa-zsa Korda, Mia Threapleton, Scarlett Johansson, Hope Davis, Michael Cera and Stephen Park.
Cranston also shared a fun memory from the set of Wes Anderson's film.
'I think it was when Tom and I, playing brothers, were absolutely marveling at what Benicio del Toro was asked to do. Massive amounts of very tricky dialogue," he told People.
Cranston added with a laugh, 'Tom and I are going, 'My God, I'm so glad I don't have that role.' We were saying to [del Toro], 'What can we do for you? What can we bring you? Can I massage your feet?'"
The Phoenician Scheme follows wealthy industrialist Zsa-zsa Korda as he launches a strange new business with his daughter Liesl (played by Threapleton) and her tutor Bjørn (Michael Cera). Along the way, they encounter assassins, revolutionaries and more eccentric characters, including the basketball-loving brothers Leland and Reagan, played by Hanks and Cranston.
The Phoenician Scheme hits theatres on May 30.

Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau romance fades out, public attention one reason: Report
The rumored romance between Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau, fueled by their recent dinner outing in Montreal, seems to have been short-lived. According to a new report, the budding relationship lost its spark before it could even take off. Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry were photographed having an intimate dinner together in Montreal last month. Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau's romance fizzles out According to the Daily Mail, the romance has reportedly 'cooled off' due to their busy schedules and Trudeau being uncomfortable with the spotlight that comes with dating the singer, reports Page Six. In fact, their communication has 'waned in the past two weeks'. 'She's busy, he's busy. They have a lot going on, and the newness has worn off. But there's nothing negative about it. They just aren't in constant communication anymore. That could change, but for now, it is what it is. It has cooled off,' said a source, also claiming that the two were texting 'nonstop' in July. The source noted Trudeau was 'not prepared' for all the attention that comes with dating Perry. 'I know for a fact that Justin wasn't thrilled about the pictures getting out. It was a first date. A first date! And these pictures came out and it became this huge thing, which is not what he seems to have wanted. It can be a lot and it can be overwhelming,' shared the source. A second source told the publication that currently, Perry, 40, and Trudeau, 53, are just friends, adding that Perry is not ready to start dating anyone right now as she is focused on her healing from separating from Orlando Bloom. More about Perry and Trudeau's spotting together Last month, the former Canadian prime minister and the pop star were seen enjoying dinner in Montreal, and Trudeau also attended her sold-out Lifetimes Tour concert at Bell Centre. At that time, PEOPLE quoted a source saying that the two had an 'instant connection', but any relationship between them is in the 'early stages'. Trudeau separated from his wife, Sophie Grégoire, in 2023 after 18 years of marriage. The former couple shares three children: sons Xavier, 17, and Hadrien, 11, and daughter Ella-Grace, 16. Perry and Bloom confirmed their split in early July after nearly 10 years together. The two share a 4-year-old daughter, Daisy.

Why Britney Spears, Pamela Anderson Are Upset With Taylor Swift's The Life Of A Showgirl
Britney Spears believes Taylor Swift's look on the album cover mirrors her iconic 2001 Dream Within a Dream tour costume. Taylor Swift's new album, The Life of a Showgirl, sent her fans into a frenzy but not everyone in Hollywood is applauding. While fans are excited for Swift's 12th studio album release on October 3, Britney Spears and Pamela Anderson are reportedly unhappy with her new era. The reason? Both feel that Swift's bold visuals and costumes borrow heavily from their own iconic looks without giving them the credit they deserve. According to a Radar Online insider, Britney Spears believes Taylor Swift's look on the album cover mirrors her iconic 2001 Dream Within a Dream tour costume. On the album cover, Swift sports a rhinestone bra, fringed armbands and a jewel-encrusted nude thong, which is strikingly similar to Britney's Bob Mackie-designed outfit from the early 2000s. Britney Spears Feels Taylor Swift Crossed Line 'She even feels she should have a credit in the liner notes," the source claimed, adding that Britney feels 'ripped off.". 'Britney worked with Bob Mackie on that outfit; it's pop history. To see it repackaged without so much as a nod feels wrong." Britney Spears feels Swift crossed the line by imitating a specific look without any acknowledgement. Pamela Anderson Sees Parallels Pamela Anderson, fresh off her Hollywood return in Naked Gun, has also raised eyebrows at Swift's aesthetic choices. Sources close to Anderson say the Cruel Summer hitmaker's visuals for The Life of a Showgirl have an uncanny resemblance to her 2024 film The Last Showgirl. From the vibrant orange and pink palette to the retro Vegas vibe, Anderson reportedly sees too many parallels between the album's visuals and her own outfits. A source explained, 'Pamela put her heart into The Last Showgirl. The colours, the vintage Vegas feel—it's all over Taylor's new visuals." They added, 'Pam isn't upset by the inspiration, but she believes recognition is deserved. Credits in the liner notes for her and Britney would be the classy thing to do." Taylor Swift's Bold New Era Taylor Swift announced The Life of a Showgirl on her boyfriend Travis Kelce's New Heights podcast, calling it 'exuberant, electric, and vibrant." The album will see her reunite with producers Max Martin and Shellback and will also feature Sabrina Carpenter in the final song. One of the most talked-about album images shows Swift in a bathtub. While some called it a sultry shot, the singer explained it actually represents her post-show routine. According to Page Six, Travis Kelce inspired the new era, giving Taylor Swift the confidence to explore a bolder, sexier image. Meanwhile, The Life Of A Showgirl is set to drop on October 3. view comments First Published: August 20, 2025, 11:45 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Why Andy Samberg is being roasted after Seth Meyers' dog Frisbee's death, ‘May her ghost haunt him forever'
Seth Meyers is mourning the death of his beloved dog Frisbee, who was famously disliked by Andy Samberg. The Saturday Night Live alum announced his family's Italian Greyhound's death via an Instagram post. Why Andy Samberg is being roasted after Seth Meyers' dog Frisbee's death (sethmeyers/Instagram, photo by Chris DELMAS / AFP) 'RIP to Frisbee, our OG IG who I was happy to go grey with. She was at her best curled in your lap and patient when we dressed her up like a pilgrim. Thanks for 14 amazing years, girl,' Meyers wrote, sharing several photos of Frisbee. Coincidentally, Frisbee died a day after Samberg's 47th birthday. Samberg had often expressed his playful dislike for the Meyers' dog, which has now led to social media users roasting him. 'That dog sucks' Samberg appeared on Amy Poehler's Good Hang podcast in July, where Meyers asked Poehler to prank Samberg by telling him that Frisbee died. Samberg said after Poehler broke the 'news,' to him, 'Don't even play, 'cause I'll be so happy.' He added, 'I will never back off that. That dog sucks, dude. And I know this is a good vibes cast, so I don't even want to bring that energy, but that dog is like a rat carcass.' Read More | Seth Meyers' Netflix stand-up special allows viewers to skip Donald Trump jokes Months before Meyers pranked Sandberg, Meyers opened up about Samberg's dislike for the dog during a Q&A session with his Late Night audience. 'He's hated my dog since she was little and now she's 14 years old,' Meyers said. 'Here's a true thing he did: I sent our Christmas card — Frisbee's in it every year — he scratched out her face like a serial killer and mailed it back.' Frisbee did not like Samberg either, Meyers said, so the feeling was mutual. Meyers reposted People's coverage of Frisbee's death and Samberg's disdain, writing on X, "She also disliked him, FWIW." 'May her ghost haunt Andy Samberg forever,' Samberg is now being roasted in the comment section of Meyers' Instagram post announcing Frisbee's death. 'May her ghost haunt Andy Samberg forever,' one user wrote, while another said, 'Does anyone have an alibi for samberg?!' 'So very sorry. May her memory be a blessing to all those who loved her. And may it haunt Andy Samberg all the days of his life. Frisbee,' wrote a user. One said, 'Very sorry for your loss, I hope she haunts Andy samberg for years to come'. 'Frisbee getting the last laugh by dying for Andy's birthday is diabolical,' one user said, while another wrote, 'Out loud went 'Nooo' and then 'oh Andy must be so happy'.' One user wrote, 'I'm sorry for you and your family. I can't believe she died near Samberg's birthday. We need his reaction. Maybe you should have him pick out your next dog.'
