
Telangana offers 1.07 lakh engineering seats across 171 colleges for 2025 admissions
Out of the total seats, 76,795 (70 per cent) will be filled under the Convenor quota.
The Council for Higher Education announced the details on Sunday when eligible and qualified candidates of TGEAPCET-2025 (Telangana Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test) were allowed to exercise web options.
The candidates can exercise their options till July 10. The last date for certificate verification is July 8. So far, 76,494 candidates have attended for certificate verification.
A total of 95,654 candidates have paid the processing fee and booked slots.
According to Sridevasena, commissioner of Technical Education and Convenor, TGEAPCET-2025, the candidates have to exercise as many options as possible to get allotment in a better college and course in the first phase itself.
According to the Higher Education Council, 21 constituent engineering colleges of 10 universities have an intake of 5,808 engineering seats.
Two colleges under private universities have a total of 1,800 seats, and out of that, 1,260 seats will be filled under the Convenor quota.
A total of 99,610 seats are available in 148 private unaided engineering colleges. Out of these, 69,727 seats will be filled under the Convenor quota.
The Higher Education Council has also given the break-up of seats available in all 47 engineering colleges.
As many as 26,150 seats are available in computer sciences and engineering -- 12,495 in computer science and engineering (Artificial intelligence and machine learning) and 10,125 in electronics and communication engineering.
There are 6,996 seats in computer science and engineering (Data Science), 4,301 in electrical and electronics engineering, 3,681 in information technology, 3,129 in civil engineering, and 2,994 in mechanical engineering.
The convenor said 1,235 seats are available in artificial intelligence and data science, and 1,439 in computer science and engineering (cybersecurity).
There are only 30 seats available in agricultural engineering, 42 each in artificial intelligence, automobile engineering, computer science and engineering (Networks), electronics, communication and instrumentation engineering, electronic and telematics, mechanical (Mechatronics) engineering, metallurgy and material engineering.

IISER-Tirupati gets ready to conduct its sixth convocation on August 5
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Tirupati, is all set to conduct its sixth convocation on Tuesday (August 5). The institute, started in 2015 with only a BS-MS programme, has rapidly expanded to offer a number of courses such as Integrated PhD and PhD, besides hosting Post-Doctoral Research Fellows. It is also offering a four-year Bachelor of Science in Economics and Statistical Sciences (BS-ESS) and a two-year MS (Masters by Research) programme starting August 2025. A total of 255 students will be graduating this year, who include 22 from PhD, 8 from I-PhD, 3 from MS, 141 from BS-MS, 69 from professional Master's, six from BS and six from BSc. Interacting with the media here on Sunday, IISER Director Santanu Bhattacharya said the institute's H-index currently stood at 57, with cumulative citations of 17,256. The Nature Index-2025 ranked IISER-Tirupati 33rd among academic institutions in India. 'IISER-Tirupati has strengthened its international ties with Heidelberg University and the University of Cologne, while we are soon launching an academic programme with University of Melbourne,' Dr. Bhattacharya said. The national institute had also tied up with the University of Buffalo, USA, and Australian National University (ANU), thus creating a plethora of opportunities for its students. Similarly, the extramural research funding doubled from the previous year, touching ₹29.43 crore.

NEET PG 2025 exam: From answer keys and result date to website and more - Here's all you need to know
NEET PG 2025: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) conducted the NEET PG 2025 exam on Sunday, and over 2.42 lakh students appeared for admission to various postgraduate medical courses. The NBEMS conducted the NEET PG 2025 exam on a computer-based platform in a single shift across 301 cities and 1052 test centres. For the NEET PG 2025 exam, the NBEMS engaged over 2,200 faculty members from various medical colleges and accredited hospitals, ensuring zero tolerance towards use of unfair means cases. Also, to prevent any kind of cyber scam at test centres, NBEMS took assistance from the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Home Affairs. Even aound 300 cyber commandos fanned out to various exam centres, especially the sensitive ones, to prevent any kind of cheating at these test centres, officials said. The NEET PG 2025 exam was conducted on 3 August and it began at 9 AM. The exams conclude at 12.30 pm. NBEMS will not release the NEET PG 2025 question paper, citing the nondisclosure agreement. However, the unofficial question paper based on the memory of exam-taking students will be released. The NBEMS will announce the NEET PG 2025 result on 3 September, and upload the result PDF, comprising qualified candidates on the official website, The NBEMS will not send NEET PG 2025 result on email. According to students, questions were asked from Gynae, Pharmacology, Opthalmology, Surgury etc. As per the details, the total mark for NEET PG 2025 exam is 800. The NBEMS will award 4 marks for right answer and deduct one mark for the wrong answer.
