Kate Middleton's Mom Carole Makes a Very Rare Royal Appearance
"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Royal Ascot is usually a week of who's who not just in the royal family—but all those related to the royals, including Kate Middleton's family and Queen Camilla's family. Today, though the Princess of Wales did not attend Royal Ascot, her mom Carole Middleton was among the attendees at Ascot Racecourse. For the occasion, Carole wore a pale yellow lace dress from Me + Em. Carole also carried the Natasha Clutch from Emmy London—a go-to of her daughter. Kate loves the clutch so much, she has it in at least 10 different colorways, so there's a good chance Carole was borrowing from her daughter's closet today.$595.00 at Carole completed her look with a Jane Corbett hat; she previously wore the hat to Royal Ascot back in 2011. Ascot 2011 Ascot 2025 Carole arrived with her daughter-in-law, Alizee Thevenet, and the two watched the races from the Royal Box. Like other attendees, the two woman wore name tags for the event. Carole's husband, Michael, was not pictured, nor was her son (and Alizee's husband) James Middleton. Carole last stepped out with the royals at her daughter's Christmas Carol at Westminster Abbey in December. Kate was reportedly set to attend Royal Ascot today, though she pulled out at the last minute as she focuses on her health. Town & Country understands that the Princess of Wales was disappointed to not be able to attend. This past September, when Kate announced she had finished chemotherapy, her parents made a brief cameo in the video playing cards with the Wales family: Carole and Michael Middleton are reportedly very involved grandparents with Prince George, Princess, Charlotte, and Prince Louis. 'I want to run down the hills, climb the trees and go through the tunnel at the playground,' Carole said a few years ago. 'As long as I am able to, that's what I'll be doing. I cook with them, I muck around dancing, we go on bike rides.' You Might Also Like 12 Weekend Getaway Spas For Every Type of Occasion 13 Beauty Tools to Up Your At-Home Facial Game

Kate Middleton Unexpectedly Cancels Major Public Appearance Hours Before It Begins
Kate Middleton Unexpectedly Cancels Major Public Appearance Hours Before It Begins originally appeared on Parade. Just before one of the biggest royal events of the year was set to begin, has pulled out of the Royal Ascot — even though she was previously confirmed to attend. The Princess of Wales was set to make her return to the annual horse race on Wednesday, June 18 after missing out on last year's event while she was undergoing chemotherapy. But as reported by PEOPLE, she canceled her appearance at the last minute, even after her mother, Carole Middleton, was already spotted arriving at the race course. Previously, Middleton was part of the carriage lineup that the official Royal Ascot social media account shared on Wednesday, but they later shared an updated carriage list without the princess included. The Royal Procession carriage list for Wednesday 18th June, the second day of #RoyalAscot 2025. — Ascot Racecourse (@Ascot) June 18, 2025 The original lineup showed Middleton and husband Prince William riding in the second carriage, but the revised version has him joining and Queen Camilla in the first one. While Kensington Palace has not given a specific reason for Middleton's absence, she is said to be "disappointed not to be able to join." However, it sounds like this might be her way of pumping the breaks on her busy schedule to give herself a bit of a rest after her return to work following her battle with cancer. According to PEOPLE, those close to her have said she's still "trying to find the right balance."It has been a rather busy week for Middleton, so it makes sense that she'd want to lay low. After Trooping the Colour over the weekend and Monday's Order of the Garter service, it's no surprise she'd want to take this opportunity to rest. 🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬 Kate Middleton Unexpectedly Cancels Major Public Appearance Hours Before It Begins first appeared on Parade on Jun 18, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jun 18, 2025, where it first appeared.

Princess of Wales unexpectedly cancels appearance at Royal Ascot
LONDON — Catherine, Princess of Wales, pulled out of a high-profile horse racing event on Wednesday — an unexpected cancellation that renewed attention on her ongoing recovery from cancer. Kate, as she is widely known, was described in British media reports to be 'disappointed' not to attend the Royal Ascot, a signature event for Britain's royals. She is trying to 'find the right balance as she fully returns to public facing engagements,' the Press Association news agency said.
