Canadian teen Summer McIntosh shatters third world swim record in five days
VICTORIA, Canada — Canadian teen Summer McIntosh has done it again.
The 18-year-old made it three world records in less than a week when she broke her own 400-meter individual medley mark on Wednesday night.
McIntosh won at the Canadian swimming trials in 4 minutes, 23.65 seconds to lower her previous best in one of the sport's toughest events by 0.73 seconds.

3-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer works his way back to rotation with Triple-A rehab start
PHILADELPHIA — Three-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer topped out at 94 mph and threw 56 pitches on Friday night in his first Triple-A rehab outing since the Toronto right-hander suffered inflammation in his right thumb. Scherzer, 40, signed a one-year, $15.5 million deal with the Blue Jays in February. Scherzer left his debut start with the team against Baltimore on March 29 after three innings because of soreness in his right lat muscle. The next day, Toronto put Scherzer on the injured list because of inflammation in his thumb.

Suárez tosses 7 shutout innings, Schwarber hits 22nd homer to lead Philadelphia Phillies past Toronto Blue Jays
Kyle Schwarber hit a three-run homer, Ranger Suárez struck out six in seven shutout innings and the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Toronto Blue Jays 8-0 on Friday night. Suárez (5-1) continued to shine since his return from an early-season back injury. He allowed seven runs in his first start of the season and has allowed only seven total in his next seven starts. The Phillies have won three of their last four games and remain in the thick of the NL East hunt, even with key pieces Bryce Harper and Aaron Nola nursing injuries. Harper fielded groundballs at first base before the game, but has yet to swing the bat or throw as he recovers from right wrist inflammation.
