Migeon Ave in Torrington to be closed for rehab project
TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Section of Migeon Avenue in Torrington will be closed to all traffic weekdays from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. starting on Monday, June 16, and will continue for a six-week period, the city said in a statement Monday.
The closure is part of the Migeon Avenue Rehabilitation Project. The statement noted that access to homes, driveways, and side streets within the work zones will be restricted during working hours, and advises residents should plan accordingly.
Governor's Hartford residence to open for annual open house day
The city plans for the work will be completed in sections, starting from the north at Route 4 and progressing south. Each section will be excavated, graveled, and paved before moving on to the next.
The section between Church Street and Pearl Street will be reconstructed at night, maintaining all business access during regular daytime hours in order to avoid interruption to the businesses.
'The City appreciates the community's patience and cooperation as we complete these needed roadway improvements,' the statement said. 'Please follow all posted detour signs and observe all parking restrictions.'

State police release details in Derby rollover that closed I-91 South
DERBY, Vt. – A part of Interstate 91 in Derby was closed due to a dump truck rollover at about 10:03 a.m. Monday morning. On Monday afternoon, Vermont's Department of Motor Vehicles released more information about the accident. The black Western Star dump truck, according to state investigators, weighed about 68,000 pounds, or 34 tons. It was carrying a load of sand northbound on I-91 past Exit 28 in Derby when its left steer axle tire failed in the front of the vehicle. The driver, from Wheelock, VT, lost control of it as a result, but sustained only minor injuries. I-91 North remained open with one lane, but I-91 South was fully closed while responders worked to move the vehicle and clean up liquid that was seen to be leaking from it. One lane of I-91 South reopened after just 25 minutes. The highway then had to be closed again for 15 minutes shortly after 1:00 p.m. as work continued to remove the truck from the roadway. Judging by the comments on RJ's Instagram post, it seems that people are generally very excited by the innovative suspension system. Perhaps most importantly, the brand CEO's fascination with seemingly small details such as the R2's rear suspension system echoes the automaker's attention to detail, which seems to have resonated with buyers and enthusiasts alike. Featuring two unique battery sizes, the Rivian R2 will reportedly be available with over 300 miles of all-electric range and a 0-60 miles per hour time of under three seconds. Perhaps the most notable feature of the Rivian R2 is its size.
