Chrissy Teigen shares emotional update on drinking after years of sobriety

Express Tribune19-05-2025
Chrissy Teigen has opened up about a personal and emotional development—she has started drinking alcohol again after a period of sobriety. The model and entrepreneur, who previously celebrated one year of sobriety in 2022, revealed in an Instagram post that she has 'allowed alcohol back into [her] life.'
The revelation accompanied the release of a new episode of her podcast, where she interviewed addiction expert Holly Whitaker. 'Holly Whitaker changed my life, changed my perspective and changed how I view the f---ing beast that is alcohol,' Teigen wrote, alongside a photo of herself holding Whitaker's book.
Following her heartfelt admission, Teigen acknowledged feeling conflicted, noting the difficulty of sharing her decision publicly. 'To have to admit to all of you that I let it back into my life…to let a lot of you down, oh I feel it deeply,' she wrote. Still, she expressed pride in how their past conversations had inspired others to rethink their relationship with alcohol.
Teigen explained that although she plans to be 'mindful' with her drinking, she struggles with the inconsistency of her experience. 'I one hundred percent know I like me better sober,' she admitted. 'I absolutely feel better in my body without it.'
Reflecting on the reasons she quit initially, Teigen cited wanting to avoid the physical toll and emotional reliance that alcohol once had on her. She said she no longer wants to feel like she needs 'a shot to talk to a crowd.'
'I can go to a concert sober and have the greatest time ever,' she said. 'Photos of my kids' birthday parties are no longer me with bleary, sleepy drinking eyes. And I am proud of that.'
Teigen closed her message by thanking fans for their support. 'This is for all the people who are figuring it out,' she said. Her husband, John Legend, commented on the post, writing, 'Always proud of you.'

Jack White clashes with Trump after Oval Office comments

Jack White has responded to the White House after being publicly criticized by its communications director, following his initial comments on the new Oval Office design. The dispute began when White shared his reaction to President Donald Trump's redesigned Oval Office, comparing its look to a 'professional wrestler's dressing room.' The comment drew attention on social media and was quickly picked up by news outlets. Shortly afterward, the White House communications director Steven Cheung, in a statement reported by The Daily Beast, dismissed White as a 'washed-up, has-been loser,' suggesting the musician's opinion carried little weight. White addressed the remark in a follow-up Instagram post. In his statement, he called Trump a 'danger to the entire world' and accused him of 'masquerading as a human being.' He also cited what he described as repeated business failures and exploitation of supporters as evidence of unfit leadership. In a pointed close, White said he would use the insult as his 'tombstone engraving,' framing it as a lasting response to the administration's attack. His words spread quickly online, with many reposts and coverage across entertainment and political media outlets.

Hasan Raheem set to release new music album

After tying the knot, Hasan Raheem seems in no mood to take a break. Instead, the singer is already gearing up to dive back into music. Just last week, pictures and videos from his actual wedding went viral online, with many fans assuming it was yet another publicity stunt. Their skepticism wasn't unfounded - back in April, Hasan had staged a fake wedding as a teaser for his song MEMORIES. This time though, he came clean, posting pictures with his wife and confirming with a simple note: 'Real hai' (It's real). Now, Hasan has once again hijacked Instagram, this time with a series of cryptic teasers. On Tuesday, he posted three reels captioned 'P', 'K' and 'D', with the hashtag #AlbumMode. Each reel carries its own voiceover. The first features Hasan himself saying, 'Uska bohot ehsan hai mujhpe, upar wale ne hamesha mere gunahon pe parda dala hai' (I am indebted to Him, the Creator has always hidden my sins). The second switches to a woman's voice: 'Hasan if you want to be in my life, you're gonna have to leave these vices behind.' The third ends on a male voiceover: 'Hasan zindagi ka aakhri paigham mohabbat hai, apka aakhri taaruf, Hasan ka aakhri taruf yeh hai ke woh mohabbat kar sakta hai, woh mohabbat mahsus kar sakta hai' (Hasan's life's last message is love. Your final introduction, Hasan's final introduction, is that he can love and that he is capable of receiving love). The visuals weave through glitchy cityscapes drenched in pink. (5) Instagram Fans, unsurprisingly, are hooked. One commented, 'Hasan Bhai apne pura Insta hijack kiya hua hai' (Hasan brother, you've hijacked the entire Instagram). Another teased, 'Hasan ke sirf do moods hain: nachna ya gaana' (Hasan has only two moods: dancing or singing). A third asked, 'Bhai shaadi ki chuttiyan nahi karoge?' (Brother, won't you take a honeymoon break?). While another summed it up with, 'Brother is suffering from extreme success and aura.'

Charley Crockett slams Nashville system, supports Beyoncé's country crossover

Country singer-songwriter Charley Crockett has spoken out in defense of Beyoncé and her Grammy-winning country-inspired album Cowboy Carter, while criticizing leading figures in modern country music and the Nashville industry. In a candid Instagram post on August 19, Crockett pushed back against critics targeting Beyoncé's presence in the genre, writing: 'Hey country folks. @beyonce ain't the source of your discontent. It was 25 years of bro country… These 'country boys' been singing over trap beats for years.' His comments appeared aimed at Morgan Wallen, who recently admitted he doesn't listen to much country music, despite topping the Billboard 200 with his album I'm the Problem. Crockett also took issue with Gavin Adcock, who publicly dismissed Cowboy Carter as not fitting within country music. Crockett countered, saying: 'I don't need to put down a Black woman to advance my music. That's just embarrassing to the idea of America.' The Texas-born artist further criticized the Nashville establishment, claiming he had once been pressured to release pre-written, formulaic albums. He praised authenticity in music, highlighting Texas rapper BigXthaPlug, whose upcoming project features collaborations with Luke Combs, Ella Langley, and Darius Rucker. Responses to Crockett's post were divided. Fellow country artists Kaitlin Butts and Chris Housman expressed support, while Adcock fired back on X and Instagram, mocking Crockett's originality. Crockett recently released his album Dollar a Day on August 8, part of a trilogy, while Adcock released Own Worst Enemy a week later. The debate underscores broader tensions in country music over genre boundaries, authenticity, and inclusion.
