Brydon Carse Reveals Lord's Emotions: 'Harry Brook Said Its His Best Test Win'
Brydon Carse described the emotional rollercoaster during England's 22-run win over India at Lord's, securing a 2-1 lead in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series.
England's Brydon Carse described the emotional rollercoaster he experienced during England's 22-run victory over India in the Lord's Test. This win secured a 2-1 lead for the home team in the five-match Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series.
At Lord's, after scores were levelled in the first innings, England set India a target of 193. Despite a determined lower-order fightback led by Ravindra Jadeja's unbeaten 61 – his fourth consecutive fifty in the format – India fell agonisingly short, bowled out for 170, granting England a thrilling victory.
'You wanted to fall to your knees, almost. It was unbelievable, after all the hard work that the group put in over those five days. It was the best game that I've been involved in with England. And, from speaking to the guys who've played a lot of franchise cricket and Tests, like Harry Brook, who I get on really well with, he was saying that's his best Test win. So to hear that among the group, and to share those thoughts after the game, was a special feeling.
'Once we got off that field and walked through the Long Room, it was an incredible atmosphere … really loud. A couple of the guys who had played in the Ashes said that's the loudest they've ever heard the Long Room. It was a pretty special week," said Carse at an event.
On the final day, Jadeja was at his gritty best, scoring his fourth successive fifty in Tests. But his valiant effort was in vain as India lost by 22 runs at Lord's, leaving them 2-1 behind in the five-match series against England.
Carse played a crucial role, claiming the wickets of Karun Nair and Shubman Gill late on Day 4, and also contributing with a half-century in the first innings.
Carse believes the Lord's win demonstrates England's ability to adapt and move forward.
'To be able to pick up a couple of wickets in that spell and put the momentum back into our hands going into day five was incredibly satisfying. At times, over the course of the series so far, I feel like I've been bowling well and maybe haven't had as much luck as I would have liked, but that was certainly satisfying for me.
'It was not the typical style of cricket that we would like to play, and it took some adjustment, but it shows this side can move forward and adapt to certain situations," said Carse.

Star India cricketer opens up on Karun Nair and Sai Sudharsan performance in Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy
Karun Nair (L), Sai Sudharsan (R) Following an impressive domestic cricket performance, Karun Nair was picked in the squad for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. With prior experience of playing of playing for the national side, Nair was looking forward to a good series. However, he ended up having a below-par series, scoring only 205 runs in four Test match at an average of 25.62. Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan while rating the players based on their performance in the series, gave Nair a rating of just four. Irfan Pathan rates Nair's performance after England tour 'Karun Nair gets four out of ten. Why? He didn't look particularly poor throughout the series. He kept getting starts consistently but managed only one half-century. He got plenty of opportunities. Cricket definitely gave him a second chance, but he couldn't capitalise on it the way he should have. Especially in the Lord's Test, he had a real chance to win the match for India but couldn't do it,' said Pathan, speaking on his YouTube channel. 'Other than that, it often seemed like he was playing well, building up nicely, and then suddenly, he'd play a loose shot and get out. At the Oval, when the bouncer was used against him, he looked a bit shaken and seemed more unsettled and uncomfortable. So, he gets four points,' Nair added. From the first Test to the last match at the Oval, it was always between Nair and Sai Sudharsan. Due to the combination, only one of them could have been included in the squad, however, following Leed's, the team has chosen to play with both once more. Irfan Pathan rated Sudharsan higher than Nair While rating Sudharsan, Pathan gave him five, 'Sai Sudharsan gets five out of ten. He came across as a player who, with a bit of work on a few aspects, clearly has a lot of cricketing potential. He could have made better use of the opportunities he got but wasn't quite able to do so. However, I do believe that if he had played all the matches, things might have turned out differently, but it's not that easy.' 'When you go overseas, you get a chance, your team loses, then you get dropped, and later you're brought back. Even selecting a playing XI is a tough job. But as a player, he'll definitely feel that if he gets regular opportunities going forward, he can achieve a lot. I've always liked left-handed batters at the top of the order, and even in the last match when he got a chance, he scored a half-century and batted well. He has the ability to do well. That's why he gets five out of ten,' he added.

'He's Seen Like A Dad': Curtis Jones Reveals Special Bond With Former Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp
Last Updated: Jones shares a special bond with former Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp, seeing him as a father figure. Klopp's 2024 departure left Jones conflicted but proud of his achievements. Curtis Jones' journey from Liverpool's academy to the first team has been one of persistence, growth, and trust—a journey intertwined with the presence and influence of Jürgen Klopp. The relationship between the young Scouser and the charismatic German manager is a story of mutual respect, shared values, and long-term vision: one that runs deeper than tactics or team sheets. In a squad packed with world-class midfielders—Thiago, Fabinho, Henderson, and Wijnaldum among others—Jones had to adapt. Klopp began moulding him into a more disciplined, two-way midfielder. But more importantly, Jones has spoken often of how Klopp backed him when others doubted him, how the manager's honesty and warmth made it easy for him to grow without fear. So, when Klopp announced his exit from Liverpool in the summer of 2024, Jones was left perplexed and conflicted, to say the least. Speaking exclusively to JioHotstar, Curtis Jones said, 'Yeah, emotions were actually mixed…But yet, I feel that there comes a time in life where family and your kids—and for Jürgen and his staff, of course, they've got their grandkids as well—that there's more to life." 'For Jürgen, who's obviously been in the game for so many years—one, of course, he's played in, and two, he's been at Dortmund and the stuff he did there—and then he came in here when the team wasn't as great, and he changed the whole thing, he flipped it over. And then he leaves here as the man that he is now, and how much he's loved of us—as you know, the players—and then from the fans as well, and the city, of how he's seen," he added. 'He's seen like a dad." But, Jones is of the belief that Klopp had no regrets whilst departing from Anfield, for he had achieved 'everything he wanted to.' 'I feel that he had achieved everything that he wanted to." You know, he came in here, and his first thing was, 'I want to build a team that is ready to go and compete every single week,' and that's what he's done. And then he made the team that's, 'Okay, we compete every week, but now we have to go and win.' And that's what we started to go and do. 'He came in, he changed the team, he started to win, he then achieved things, and then he helped the youth as well. You know, you can't ask for any more." Last Updated: Curtis Jones, a boyhood Red from Kirkdale, joined Liverpool's academy at nine and debuted in 2019. His key role in 2024-25 helped Liverpool win the Premier League title. Curtis Jones' rise from the streets of Kirkdale to lifting the Premier League trophy with Liverpool is a story rooted in talent, resilience, and local pride. A boyhood Red, Jones joined Liverpool's academy at the age of nine and quickly gained attention for his flair, creativity, and confidence on the ball. His journey was never about shortcuts—it was about steady progress and seizing the right moments. Speaking exclusively to JioHotstar, ' I feel like that goes down as one of the most special things that I felt there, off of the fans. It goes back to feeling the love and appreciation of the fans." 'That's something that, you know, that I've always said: if I can stay here and play and be a huge part of this team, and a huge part of this club, and the foundation of the club, and to have young kids who come and point at me and be the one, 'I want to be like him,' that's what I want to try and do. Jones made his senior debut in January 2019 during an FA Cup tie against Wolves. But it was his stunning winning goal against Everton in the FA Cup a year later that truly announced his arrival. The 2024–25 season marked a turning point. Amid injuries and a transitional period for the club, Jones stepped up with consistent performances, showcasing composure, vision, and leadership. His contribution proved vital as Liverpool mounted a relentless campaign and clinched the Premier League title for the second time under Klopp. Lifting the trophy as a homegrown player was a full-circle moment for Jones. 'I mean, it's everything. As a kid, it doesn't matter which team you are at, it's always your dream. But to do it here, and I'm a Scouse lad, and I've come all the way through, and I'm standing here now, and this is where it was all happening," he stated. 'Now I'm around in the first team, and I'm playing games, and I'm a champion of the Premier League. I've won it twice and… so yeah. I'm standing here, I'm made up, I'm happy, but I want to achieve even more. So I'm enjoying it now, but I'm thinking again about the next step."
