Who is Andrew Flynn?
Andrew Flynn was born on April 12, 1992 and stands at 6ft 2in tall, weighing approximately 138–142kg.
He hails from Lancing and currently lives in Peacehaven, both in East Sussex.
Andrew balances his strongman career with his day job in materials control at Southern Railway.
He began competing at the national level in 2021, initially placing seventh in the UK's Strongest Man.
Over the next few years, he consistently improved, achieving fourth place in 2023, third in 2024 and 2025 at the same event, securing qualification for the World's Strongest Man.
At Britain's Strongest Man 2025, he excelled in the medley, winning the event, placed second in the log lift, and also finished fourth in the Atlas Stones.
He has also competed in Europe's Strongest Man and the Giants Live Strongman Classic, regularly placing in the top half of the field.
Family man
Andrew is a devoted family man, balancing his demanding strongman career with his responsibilities as a husband and father of two.
He often credits his family as his greatest motivation, emphasising how their support and encouragement have fuelled his journey to the top of the strongman world.
Despite the rigorous demands of training and competition, he prioritises spending quality time with his loved ones.

Unconventional training
Andrew's training approach is a bit different to most competitors — he trains four times a week in his garden.
His sessions are intense, often lasting longer than three hours after a full day's work.
Nutrition is a critical part of Andrew's regimen — he consumes between 5,200 and 8,000 calories daily, with a diet rich in protein, carbohydrates and fats.
His everyday meals are substantial, with large portions of meat, vegetables and complex carbohydrates, reflecting the immense energy requirements of elite strongman athletes.
Overcoming injury
Andrew overcame a significant bicep injury early in his career, which sidelined him from major competitions.
It's still odd. Especially now when you're meeting World's Strongest Man finalists and then I'm there like 'hi'. It's easy to put people on a pedestal and think people are larger than life
Andrew Flynn
But it also ultimately fuelled his determination to return stronger.
Known as the 'Flying Flynn' in the strongman community, his resilience and work ethic have earned him a reputation as an underdog who consistently exceeds expectations.
Andrew said: 'My nickname in strongman is Flying Flynn. When I first started, I'd been playing rugby, so I was a lot lighter, a lot more mobile.
"I've still got that speed there, so I've always been good at the moving events. I don't really feel pain if I'm doing an event like that.'
2025 World's Strongest Man
Andrew's debut at World's Strongest Man 2025 marks a significant milestone in his career.
As he explained: 'It's still odd. Especially now when you're meeting World's Strongest Man finalists and then I'm there like 'hi'. It's easy to put people on a pedestal and think people are larger than life.
"On one hand, it's hard to tell people it's attainable because it's obviously very hard to get to that level and it's taken me ten years to do it, but they're human as well.
"It's about taking the veil down really. You understand the hard work that everyone's put in."
He'll be facing off against the biggest names in the game, including 'Strongest Brothers in the World' Luke and Tom Stoltman, ads well as newcomers including

First video of Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson together resurfaces on social media... when she was just 21

When Bill Belichick was spotted walking around the New Orleans ' French Quarter in January 2023, local football fans were hoping he was in line to take over the struggling Saints. People paid little attention to the young woman walking alongside him in a pink top. But two-and-a-half years later, the footage appears to be the first time Belichick, now age 73, was seen with his 49-years-younger girlfriend Jordon Hudson. At the time the clip was taken, Hudson would have been just 21 years old, while Belichick would have been 70. The controversial couple appear unaware that they are being filmed in the footage that was first shared by the New Orleans travel Instagram page, New Orleans Lifestyle. 'When you randomly spot a Super Bowl winning coach and wish they were in town for a job interview,' the caption read. Exactly what the couple were there for is unclear but Belichick would have been absolved of any major football commitments at the time. His New England Patriots team had failed to reach the NFL playoffs and Belichick would go on and have just one more season as the team's head coach before departing after 24 seasons. Combining with Tom Brady, they won six Super Bowl titles together. Belichick and Hudson, meanwhile, first met on a flight from Boston to Tampa in 2021, when the NFL great was in a relationship with his now ex-girlfriend Linda Holliday. The timeline of when things with Holliday broke down and how his relationship with Hudson became romantic is unclear but Belichick's split with Holliday was confirmed in September 2022. They had been together for 16 years. Back in February, Hudson and Belichick returned to New Orleans for the Super Bowl, where they watched the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs. They attended several lavish events together leading up to football's showpiece game, while also stunning onlookers by going for a drink in an Irish bar packed with NFL fans on one night. Since then, Hudson has made a series of calamitous PR mis-steps that have caused so much scrutiny on the couple, the idea of walking down the street unnoticed is now nothing but a fantasy. The most notable self-inflicted humiliation came when Belichick gave an interview to CBS. From off-camera, Hudson interrupted to stop a visibly uncomfortable Belichick from answering a question on how they met - something CBS said happened repeatedly during the interview. Recently, two podcasters from 'The Sports Gossip Show' detailed a week of excuciating exchanges between themselves and Hudson. They were keen to have her as a guest on their show but amid a growing sense of unease from speaking to Hudson, talks ended with Belichick's girlfriend 'yelling and crying' on the phone at how they had mocked her appearing at a beauty pageant. It remains to be seen how much Hudson has curbed her appetite for center stage but for Belichick, a huge day is approaching with his first game at college level as head coach of University of North Carolina. They face TCU on Monday, September 1 - a massively anticipated game for plenty of reasons off the field after the last few months.

An outpouring of support followed, with Morton fans unfurling a banner reading: "keep fighting Remi." Remi was in a neonatal intensive care unit at Wishaw Hospital fighting for her life, with Imrie and partner Lauren by her side. He was commuting from Greenock to the North Lanarkshire town every day. Imrie had returned to work after missing the opening game of the league season and last week had described how "life at the minute is hour by hour, day by day." The former Hamilton and St Mirren player, 42, praised the "fantastic people" who were caring for Remi. Imrie said: 'They have been incredible and not only for Remi. I'm in that unit day in and day out and they are so good at their work with all the babies. 'I'll never be able to thank or repay these people enough for what they're doing. The attention to detail they put in on a daily basis is nothing less than remarkable.' In a heartbreaking update, Imrie has confirmed the devastating news that Remi has passed away. On social media, he posted: "30.07.25-19.08.25 "Our girl got tired in the early hours of Tuesday morning & decided it was time to rest. "'If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever'." "1/2 "20 days of loving you Remi, I hope you know how much you were loved and we will cherish the short time we got to spend with you, a true wee fighter from the minute you were born. We love you baby girl." An outpouring of tributes followed from fans and friends alike. They were led by Imrie's club, Morton. They said: "The Greenock Morton Football Club family are devastated to learn of the tragic passing of Remi Imrie. "The heartfelt condolences of all associated with the club go to Dougie Imrie, his partner Lauren and the full family at this extremely sad time. "Greenock Morton at this time requests the privacy of the family as they try to come to terms with this profound loss, and we will continue to provide our full support."
