The company aims to complete the process within the current quarter, according to investor's presentation for Q1FY26. In a corporate action like a demerger, the effective date is the date from which the changes officially take effect in the company's legal and financial structure. According to the plan, Tata Motors Limited (TML) will split its Commercial Vehicle business, including all its assets, liabilities, employees, and related investments, into TMLCV. Meanwhile, the Passenger Vehicle business in TMPV will merge back into the existing listed entity TML. When the Scheme takes effect, both TMLCV and TML will be renamed, resulting in two separate listed entities: 1) The Commercial Vehicle business and related investments under TML, and 2) The Passenger Vehicle business, including the Electric Vehicle (TPEM) business, JLR, and related investments, under TMPV. August 01, 2024: Tata Motors' board approved the Scheme of Arrangement (the demerger scheme). March 25, 2025: The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Mumbai Bench, ordered a shareholders' meeting to consider the demerger. March 28, 2025: It is fixed as cut-off date for determining shareholders eligible to vote on the demerger. May 06, 2025: Shareholders gave the green nod to the demerger proposal. October 01, 2025: Split to become effective from this date. Shareholders' Green Light Tata Motors' shareholders in May approved the demerger proposal of separating the auto manufacturer into two listed entities – commercial vehicle and passenger vehicle. The resolution for the Composite Scheme of Arrangement was passed with the requisite majority, with a total of 2,730,875,858 votes polled. Out of these, 2,730,862,142 votes (99.9995%) were in favor, and 13,716 votes (0.0005%) were against. Tata Motors has launched the all-new 'Adventure X' edition of its flagship SUVs, the Harrier and the Safari, offering a combination of improved technology and design elements at an introductory price of ₹18.99 lakh for the Harrier and ₹19.99 lakh for the Safari (ex-showroom Delhi). The Adventure X trims come loaded with segment-first features such as ADAS with Adaptive Cruise Control (AT), a 360-degree HD surround view system, Trail Hold EPB (electronic park brake) with Auto Hold, and Land Rover-derived Command Shifter. Other features include Ergo Lux Driver Seat with Memory & Welcome Function, 26.03 cm Ultra-View Twin Screen System, Trail Sense Auto Headlamps, Aqua Sense Wipers, and multiple drive modes (City, Sport, and Eco). Built on the Land Rover-derived OMEGARC platform and powered by a 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine, the Adventure X variants aim to attract customers seeking SUVs that combine rugged capability with refined comfort. While the Harrier Adventure X boasts Onyx Trail interiors with black leatherette seats and tan accents, the Safari Adventure X features tan oak-inspired Adventure Oak interiors with sculpted dash design. 'With the introduction of the Adventure X persona, we've modernised these icons for a new era — one that champions individuality, precision-crafted design, and intelligent capability,' said Vivek Srivatsa, chief commercial officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility. Tata Motors has also restructured the entire Harrier and Safari line-up to make it more streamlined and value-rich. The refreshed portfolio includes new persona options such as Smart, Pure X, Fearless X, and Accomplished X, catering to a wider range of customer preferences. Deliveries for the Adventure X variants start immediately. Introductory prices will remain valid until October 31, 2025.

Tata Motors is gearing up to broaden its SUV portfolio in India with an all-new compact SUV, codenamed Scarlet. Among seven new nameplates the homegrown automaker plans to roll out by 2030, the Scarlet will compete in the fiercely competitive compact SUV is expected to bring a boxy, upright stance inspired by the design language of the upcoming Tata Sierra, making it distinct from the more curvaceous Nexon. Though official details remain under wraps, the Scarlet is expected to support multiple powertrain options. Tata is likely to fine-tune the pricing strategy to avoid cannibalisation while appealing to new customer Scarlet, Tata Motors is reportedly also preparing to expand its EV lineup with two more sub-4-metre all-electric models: codenamed Kuno and Terra. These models align with Tata's broader EV strategy of offering two options per segment: entry-level, mid-level, and premium, ensuring a comprehensive EV portfolio by the end of the the Scarlet is still some time away, Tata Motors has officially confirmed that the much-awaited Sierra will launch later this year. Speaking at the recent launch, Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, announced that the Sierra will debut in both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric versions within the current calendar year. This confirmation puts an end to speculation about its launch timeline. "The Sierra will definitely come out this calendar year, and it'll be both in ICE and EV form," said iconic Tata Sierra is set to make a modern-day comeback, redesigned for contemporary buyers. It will feature bold styling, advanced technology, and the flexibility of dual powertrains, bringing the legendary nameplate into the modern era.A near-production version of the Sierra was recently displayed at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, giving enthusiasts a glimpse of what's to come.
