Angels walk-off Dodgers in 10th for 6th straight win in series
August 13 - By Field Level Media Jo Adell bounced a single into left field to drive in Taylor Ward from third base in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Los Angeles Angels, who earlier turned the eighth triple play in team history, a wild 7-6 walk-off Freeway Series victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night in Anaheim, Calif. Ward, who went 2-for-5 with a home run, three runs scored and two RBIs, began the inning as the automatic runner at second and advanced to third on a bunt single by Christian Moore, setting the stage for Adell's game-winner. It was the ninth walk-off win of the season for the Angels, tied for the most in the majors. Connor Brogdon (3-1) pitched a hitless inning of relief to pick up the victory for the Angels, their sixth straight win over the Dodgers in Freeway Series play. Shohei Ohtani, who hit into the triple play in his previous at-bat, led off the top of the ninth with a go-ahead home run to give the Dodgers a 6-5 lead. Ohtani hit a 1-0 cutter by Kenley Jansen 404 feet down the right field line for his 43rd home run, breaking a tie with Philadelphia's Kyle Schwarber for the National League lead and extending his homer streak to four games. It snapped a streak of 21 games by Jansen where he hadn't allowed an earned run. The Angels rallied to tie it in the bottom of the ninth when Luis Rengifo scored on Nolan Schanuel's sacrifice fly against reliever Alex Vesia. Ben Casparius (7-5) then got Ward to strike out to end the threat. The triple play came in the sixth inning with the score tied, 5-5. Miguel Rojas and Dalton Rushing began the inning with back-to-back singles against reliever Brock Burke, bringing Ohtani to the plate. Ohtani then hit a soft liner over the second base bag where shortstop Zach Neto caught it, stepped on the bag to double-off Rojas and then threw to Schanuel at first to triple-off Rushing. It was marked the team's first triple play since Aug. 18, 2023 against Tampa Bay. Rushing homered and had two hits and two RBIs, Teoscar Hernandez had two hits and two RBIs and Freddie Freeman and Andy Pages also had two hits for the Dodgers, who fell into a tie for first place in the National League West with the San Diego Padres with their third straight loss. After the Dodgers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on an RBI single by Hernandez, the Angels answered with three runs in the bottom half on an RBI single by Ward followed by an RBI double by Yoan Moncada and an RBI groundout by Adell. The Dodgers tied it, 3-3, in the second on a two-run home run to right by Rushing, driving in Alex Freeland, who had walked. Ward put the Angels back in front in the third with his 28th home run, a 413-foot drive to center. Bryce Teodosio extended the lead to 5-3 in the fourth when he doubled in Rengifo, who had walked, for his first major league RBI. The Dodgers tied it, 5-5, in the fifth on a two-out RBI single by Hernandez and a bases-loaded walk by Pages off reliever Ryan Zeferjahn.

Pole vault king Duplantis to promote World Athletics Ultimate Championship
Aug 13 (Reuters) - Pole vault sensation Armand 'Mondo' Duplantis said he was excited to be part of the growth of athletics after the two-time Olympic champion was handed an ambassadorial role for next year's inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship. World Athletics announced last year it would hold the global championship as a grand conclusion to the 2026 season. It will then take place every two years. In a statement, World Athletics said Duplantis had been named 'Star Athlete' for the event. The governing body added that the pole vaulter would be among the "key collaborators pursuing their cultural passions outside of athletics in music, fashion, art, on-screen, who will promote the new global season-ending championship." The event will take place in Budapest with a record $10 million in prize money on offer. Gold medallists will each receive $150,000 as part of what the sport's world governing body has described as the richest prize pot ever in the sport. Duplantis won his second world title in 2023 in Budapest. He also broke his own pole vault world record there for a 13th time on Tuesday, soaring 6.29 metres at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Swede said he was hoping to set a new world record during the Ultimate Championship. "We're always looking for new ways to make sure that the spotlight shines on athletics and the Ultimate will light up Budapest," the 25-year-old added. "I have great memories of winning world gold two years ago and remember the incredible atmosphere inside the stadium that night. It would be a dream to break the world record in front of a packed crowd next year. "This event is set to showcase our sport like never before and I can't wait to be a part of it." The championship is scheduled to take place over three evenings next year from September 11 to September 13. Each session will last less than three hours, in a bid to capture the attention of global television viewers. The programme will feature 26 individual events – 16 track and 10 field – and two relays, including the new mixed 4x100m.

Tymal Mills takes to OnlyFans to show more (of his career)
The England fast bowler Tymal Mills has become the first cricketer to partner with OnlyFans, promising to go into depth about the game, including its 'bad side'. The Sussex and Southern Brave left-arm fast bowler has insisted he will keep his clothes on, as the platform continues to diversify beyond the adult content it is best known for. Mills follows the likes of the tennis player Nick Kyrgios, who turned to OnlyFans in 2023 to produce content on tennis and gaming. Last week Mills announced he was now an 'OnlyFans athlete' and promised to take followers 'beyond the boundary — giving you a closer, more personal look into life as a professional cricketer'. He said he would offer one-to-one coaching, 'unfiltered' pre and post-match thoughts, and ball-by-ball breakdowns reacting to footage. Asked whether he will be keeping his clothes on in the videos, Mills told the Telegraph: 'Categorically, yes. 'I know exactly what people might think, and what they are best known for. But I'll be putting stuff out that is about cricket and maybe a little bit of lifestyle content too. 'The conversations first started about a year ago, so I read up, held conversations and did my due diligence. I hadn't quite realised how big the company was. They're trying to get into football, get Premier League footballers on the platform. They're doing well with 'smaller' sports like surfing and skateboarding, individual sports. 'I'm the first cricketer, and they're trying to get into team sports. It's ground zero in that regard and I'm very excited. I want to be brave.' One of the fastest bowlers in the country and part of England's T20 World Cup winning side in 2022, Mills said he wants to be a 'bit more vulnerable, exposing what is going on behind the scenes, in my mind', including talking about 'the bad side of the game' such as 'what happens when you get whacked, or get dropped'. • Bonnie Blue: 1,000 men and the worrying normalisation of porn Mills insisted that he is 'not looking to get rich out of this'. It is free to subscribe, with subscribers then paying for certain pieces of content. So far, free subscribers can see videos of Mills answering questions, his thoughts heading into the Hundred, and a brief round up of the first game. Fans can pay $5 for his 'completely unfiltered thoughts' on the first game and a breakdown of the 'worst over' in his professional career. Mills says he sees OnlyFans as 'just an extension' of his media career and that he wants to give himself 'as much opportunity to be successful as I can in whatever I do after playing'. • Is OnlyFans prostitution? Sweden clamps down on creators' 'only option' Noah Williams and Jack Laugher, Team GB divers, ran OnlyFans accounts while competing at the Paris Olympics last year, but some athletes' use of the platform has harmed their sporting careers. The British canoe slalom racer Kurts Adams Rozentals used his account to help fund his training but was suspended from a UK Sport programme for Olympic hopefuls after his sport's governing body received unspecified allegations about his social media content.
