Ludhiana: Citing ‘disillusionment' among party, AAP councillor switches to Congress
Satnam Singh Sunny Master, a sitting Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councilor from Ward 58, which falls in Ludhiana West assembly segment joined the Congress on Friday. He was inducted into the party by former chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi, former cabinet minister Rana Gurjit, party candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu and others.
Besides, Karan Warring, a senior BJP leader and Paramvir Singh, nephew of late MLA Gurpreet Gogi also joined the Congress.
Earlier, Vikramjit Singh, the social media in-charge of the AAP for Malwa region also joined the Congress in presence of the party's general secretary in charge of Punjab, Bhupesh Baghel, and the state president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring.
Speaking on the occasion, Sunny Master said he was completely disillusioned with the AAP after seeing it from inside. He said they were all fake revolutionaries. He said he was deeply disturbed the way the AAP leadership was handing over the posts and positions, which are the right of the Punjabis, to people from Delhi and other places.
Karan Warring said it was a homecoming for him as his family has been with Congress for generations. He especially appealed to the BJP and the Akali supporters, not to waste their votes and support Ashu to defeat the outsiders' party, the AAP.
Welcoming them into the party fold, Channi and Rana said it was a homecoming for them. Channi said, it was not an ordinary thing that a sitting councillor had left the ruling party and joined the opposition party. He noted this shows how disappointed and disillusioned people are with the AAP.
He said, this is just the beginning as more and more people were keen to join Congress after being disillusioned with the AAP.
Channi in a special message to the self respecting Punjabis, who believe in Punjabiyat, said that they must come forward and ensure the victory of Congress and defeat the outsiders.
He said, no Punjabi would like to vote for a Haryanvi, suggesting that the AAP was fighting this election for sending Kejriwal, who originally hails from Haryana, to Rajya Sabha. 'This is the matter of Punjabi prestige', he remarked.

"Time for Party to prepare": BJP chief JP Nadda charts roadmap in Himachal ahead of Panchayat polls
Solan (Himachal Pradesh) [India], June 3 (ANI): Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda on Monday chaired a key core group meeting of the party in Himachal Pradesh's Solan, and instructed the state unit to start preparing for the upcoming Panchayat elections. During his visit, Nadda also participated in a Tiranga Yatra, where he congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the armed forces for Operation Sindoor. In his address during the core group meeting, Nadda instructed the state BJP to launch a series of outreach programmes over the next two and a half months from June 5 to August 15 coinciding with the 11th anniversary of the Modi government. These events, he emphasised, should highlight the achievements of the Centre and energise party cadres across Himachal Pradesh. "His statement suggests they informed Pakistan in advance...": Digvijaya Singh on Jaishankar's 'Operation Sindoor' remark
Mandla (Madhya Pradesh) [India], June 3 (ANI): Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Monday criticised External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar over his recent statement about 'Operation Sindoor', suggesting that the government may have informed Pakistan in advance about targeting terrorist camps. Speaking to ANI, Singh said, 'S Jaishankar is a highly experienced diplomat. His father was a renowned figure and a respected defence analyst. But now, his own statement suggests that they informed them (Pakistan) in advance that they would be targeting terrorist camps. If you've already told the enemy that you're coming to attack, naturally, they will vacate the area. When you warn your enemy beforehand, they will obviously be prepared.' Earlier, Congress leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, also raised questions regarding the operation. He shared a video on social media platform X, where Jaishankar is seen speaking to reporters following the inauguration of the Honduras Embassy in Delhi. Gandhi accused the government of serious lapses. In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi wrote, 'Informing Pakistan at the start of our attack was a crime. EAM has publicly admitted that GOI did it. 1. Who authorised it? 2. How many aircraft did our airforce lose as a result?' The Ministry of External Affairs, however, rebutted Gandhi's accusations against External Affairs Minister Jaishankar that the government 'informed Pakistan' before the start of 'Operation Sindoor.' According to the XP Division of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Jaishankar had said that India had warned Pakistan at an early phase after Operation Sindoor's commencement. XP Division, MEA stated, 'EAM had stated that we had warned Pakistan at the start, which is clearly the early phase after Op Sindoor's commencement. This is being falsely represented as being before the commencement. This utter misrepresentation of facts is being called out.' Speaking to reporters on May 15, after the inauguration of the Honduras Embassy in Delhi, Jaishankar said, 'It is clear who wanted cessation of firing. We achieved the goals which we set out to do by destroying the terrorist infrastructure. Since key goals were achieved, I think we reasonably took the position, because even at the start of the operation, we had sent a message to Pakistan saying we are striking at terrorist infrastructure and not the military, and the military has an option to stand out and not interfere.'
