
DDA to launch premium housing scheme by Aug-end
The scheme, which received approval at the authority's meeting chaired by LG VK Saxena on July 11, includes 39 high-income group flats in Vasant Kunj, Pocket 9B in Jasola and Sector 19B in Dwarka; 48 middle-income group units in Jahangirpuri, Nand Nagri, Dwarka and Pitampura; and 22 low-income group flats in Rohini.
"The scheme also includes 16 car garages in Pitampura and 51 scooter garages across Mall Road and Ashok Vihar, offering comprehensive options for both housing and parking in some of Delhi's most prominent localities," stated the authority.

The prices will vary as per categories. For example, HIG flats have a reserved price ranging from Rs1.64 crore to Rs 2.54 crore, MIG flats from Rs 60 lakh to Rs 1.5 crore, and LIG flats from Rs 39 lakh to Rs 54 lakh.
Officials confirmed that as soon as the policy is launched, they will put on hold the ongoing third housing scheme of the year, Apna Ghar Awaas Yojana 2025, offering 7,500 residential units across areas, including Narela, Loknayakpuram and Siraspur.

These residential units are available at 15-25% discounted rates across various categories, including economically weaker sections, LIG, MIG and HIG, on a first-come, first-served basis.
The residential units under the third scheme include 564 LIG flats in Siraspur and 150 LIG and 96 MIG flats in Loknayakpuram. In Narela, the available units consist of 694 EWS flats, 5,384 LIG flats, 386 MIG flats and 226 HIG flats. A 25% discount on the LIG flats are being offered in Loknayakpuram, Narela and Siraspur, and a 15% discount on EWS, MIG and HIG flats in Narela and MIG flats in Loknayakpuram.
Officials said DDA had implemented several buyer-friendly measures over recent years and these steps had strengthened public confidence in the organisation.

Punjab sees steepest decline in PM-Kisan beneficiaries with 49 per cent drop in five years
CHANDIGARH: Punjab has recorded the steepest fall in the country in the number of beneficiaries under the PM-Kisan scheme, with figures dropping by nearly 49 per cent over the past five years. Beneficiaries fell from 23.01 lakh between December 2019 and March 2020, the highest-ever recorded in the state when farmers received Rs 466.47 crore, to just 11.34 lakh between April and July 2025, who received Rs 387.76 crore. Recently, in reply to an unstarred question raised by Congress MP from Ludhiana, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Ram Nath Thakur stated that in the financial year 2025-26, Rs 63,500 crore had been allocated for the PM-Kisan scheme. 'The 20th instalment of the PM-Kisan scheme was released on August 2, 2025 and more than 9.71 crore beneficiaries received benefits amounting to more than Rs 20,500 crore. Out of this, more than 11.34 lakh beneficiaries from Punjab received the benefit amounting to Rs 387.76 crore,' the reply stated. It added that a farmer-centric digital infrastructure has ensured the benefits of the scheme reach all farmers across the country without the involvement of intermediaries. 'Maintaining absolute transparency in registering and verifying beneficiaries, the Government of India has disbursed over Rs 3.90 lakh crore through 20 instalments since the inception of the scheme,' it noted.

All 12 public sector banks together made a profit of Rs 39,974 crore in the June quarter of FY25. The increase in profit in absolute terms was Rs 4,244 crore. Live Events Market leader SBI alone contributed 43 per cent to the total earnings of Rs 44,218 crore, as per the published numbers on stock exchanges. SBI logged a net profit of Rs 19,160 crore in Q1 FY26, 12 per cent higher than the same period of the previous fiscal. In terms of size and profits, the biggest lender in the nation still controls the public banking market. In percentage terms, Chennai-based Indian Overseas Bank reported the highest net profit growth of 76 per cent to Rs 1,111 crore, followed by Punjab & Sind Bank with a 48 per cent rise to Rs 269 crore. During the quarter, all 12 public sector banks (PSBs) except Punjab National Bank ( PNB ) reported a decline in profit. PNB reported a 48 per cent fall in net profit to Rs 1,675 crore against Rs 3,252 crore in the year-ago period. Central Bank of India recorded 32.8 per cent growth in the June quarter net profit to Rs 1,169 crore, Indian Bank posted 23.7 per cent rise to Rs 2,973 crore, and Bank of Maharashtra logged 23.2 per cent improvement to Rs 1,593 crore.
