Resolution of Kashmir issue guarantee of peace: PM

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council is the only guarantee of the rights of the Kashmiris and peace in the region.
In a message on the occasion of Kashmir Accession Day, he said the government and people of Pakistan will continue to extend diplomatic, moral and political support to the Kashmiris.
"Kashmir Accession Day is celebrated every year on July 19 in memory of the Srinagar session of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference in 1947," he noted.
He said, "On that day, the brave people of Kashmir passed a resolution to accede to Pakistan for the state of Jammu and Kashmir."
He said, "The story of the unending sacrifices of Kashmiris that began in 1947 is not only continuing today, but the brutality and oppression of one million Indian troops have failed to break the resolve of Kashmiris and with the passage of time, the spirit of freedom of Kashmiris has strengthened."
"Today, like their ancestors the third generation of Kashmiris is also determined to achieve their right to self-determination," he remarked.
The prime minister said, "The decades-long struggle of the brave Kashmiris against illegal occupation shows their patriotism and genuine desire for freedom."

Five children killed, 13 hurt in Lakki Marwat mortar shell explosion
LAKKI MARWAT: At least five children were killed and 13 others injured in an explosion caused by a mortar shell in the Surband Langar Khel area of Lakki Marwat district on Saturday. According to District Police Officer (DPO) Nazir Khan, the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Saddar police station when a group of children discovered an old mortar shell lying outside the village. Unaware of its danger, they brought it home where it exploded while they were playing. The blast killed four girls and a boy on the spot, all of whom were between the ages of six and 12. Thirteen members of the same household, including women and men, sustained injuries of varying degrees and were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, Rescue officials confirmed. Rescue 1122 teams swiftly responded, transferring the injured and deceased to a local hospital for treatment and medico-legal formalities. District Police Officer (DPO) Lakki Marwat and other law enforcement personnel reached the site soon after the explosion and cordoned off the area. Bomb disposal experts have also been called in to search for any additional unexploded ordnance. Earlier, security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by Indian-sponsored militant group Fitna Al-Khawarij near the Pak-Afghan border, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). According to the ISPR, Indian-backed Fitna Al-Khwarij was killed during a decisive operation in Hassan Khel, North Waziristan. The security forces also recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials. The military's swift response has once again demonstrated its readiness and resolve to counter cross-border terrorism. The statement reiterated Pakistan's firm commitment to eliminating Indian-sponsored terrorism and highlighted that security forces remain fully prepared to confront any threats along the border. ISPR also called upon the interim Afghan government to prevent the use of Afghan soil for launching terrorist attacks against Pakistan, particularly by foreign-sponsored proxies.

Deploying large workforce in Belarus: there's no framework yet
ISLAMABAD: The Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BE&OE) has not developed any framework to assess the viability of deploying large workforce in Belarus, after signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), promising 150,000 jobs for skilled Pakistani workers. So far, there has been no public safety advisory from the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development for Pakistani workers intended to work abroad. Details of the issue revealed that thousands of Pakistani nationals are now caught in a rising human migration crisis across Eastern Europe, using Belarus as a stepping stone to illegally enter Poland, Lithuania, and Latvia. The situation has escalated rapidly after migrants, lured by promises of overseas employment, found no real job prospects in Belarus - despite a high-profile agreement signed between Islamabad and Minsk earlier this year. The wave of migration follows Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's official visit to Belarus in April, during which a MOU was signed, promising 150,000 jobs for skilled Pakistani workers in sectors such as healthcare, IT, construction, and engineering. However, more than two months later, the plan remains entirely unimplemented. According to officials from the BE&OE, no framework has been developed, no licenced overseas employment promoters have been engaged, and no feasibility study has been conducted to assess the viability of deploying such a large workforce. 'There are no official channels or guidelines for sending workers to Belarus. Nothing has materialized since the agreement was signed,' confirmed a senior BE&OE officer, requesting anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter. 'In the absence of any structured migration pathway, desperate individuals are turning to illegal routes.' Belarus, which maintains relatively relaxed visa rules for Pakistani nationals, has emerged as a preferred entry point. However, upon arrival, many migrants are met with economic hardship, rising inflation, and language barriers. With few actual job offers and no government-verified recruiters in place, migrants quickly realize they have been misled. The minimum wage of $1,100, initially cited in the bilateral agreement, appears unrealistic in a country where the average monthly salary is between $670 and $700. Resultantly, many migrants attempt illegal crossings into neighbouring countries, including Poland, Lithuania, and Latvia, often in the hope of ultimately reaching Germany. Migration experts and policy analysts, including those from the Centre for Migration Research Pakistan (CMRP), are calling on the government to act urgently. Recommendations include launching public awareness campaigns on the risks of irregular migration, engaging with EU authorities to ensure the humane treatment of detained migrants, and enforcing strict action against unlicensed recruiting agents under the Emigration Ordinance, 1979. There is also a growing demand for Pakistan's missions abroad to provide emergency assistance, including temporary shelter, legal aid, and repatriation services. Unless urgent action is taken at both diplomatic and domestic levels, thousands more may be drawn into this growing humanitarian crisis - trapped between unfulfilled promises at home and hardened borders abroad. In a statement, Bhat said that August 5, 2019, marks the darkest chapter in Kashmir's political history — when India unilaterally abrogated Articles 370 and 35A, stripping the region of its limited autonomy and constitutional guarantees. "Our protest will send a clear message: the Kashmiri nation rejects illegal occupation and stands united in its peaceful quest for freedom and dignity." Hurriyat leader praised the unwavering resilience of Kashmiris who, despite continued lockdowns, communication blackouts, and military repression, have never surrendered their will.
