A young Brazilian man who was badly injured in a Dublin apartment fire in June passed away more than a month later, it has emerged.
Reports from Brazilian media indicate that Ailton Soares de Oliveira who had been hospitalised following the incident in June died in the early hours of July 20.
The 38-year-old was one of three people who were rushed to the hospital after the blaze broke out at the property on Granby Row in Dublin 1.
Emergency services battled the fire that was located on the third floor of the four-storey building.
In total, seven people were treated at the scene with three being transported to hospital by two Dublin Fire Brigade ambulances and one National Ambulance Service ambulance.

Ailton Soares de Oliveira, a native of Rio Grande do Norte, remained in serious condition since the incident on June 24, in the Intensive Treatment Unit (ICU) of St James's Hospital.
According to Brazilian media, Ailton had suffered burns caused by the battery explosion of an electric bicycle that was being charged in the apartment.
'Ailton was working as a deliveryman in Ireland at the time of the accident,' Diario Do RN reports.
'He was rescued by the Fire Department and taken to a city hospital, where he underwent surgery and ended up in an induced coma. In recent days, he presented signs of recovery' but later succumbed to his injuries.
An online campaign was launched by friends of the victim to help with treatment costs and to provide family support.
The GoFundMe page reads: 'With heavy hearts, we share the sad news of the passing of Ailton Soares, who unfortunately did not survive the serious accident that occurred in Dublin 1 on June 24.
The aftermath of the fire
'After weeks of fighting for his life, he passed away in the early hours of July 20 at 4am.
'In this moment of grief and farewell, we are launching this fundraising campaign to cover the legal procedures and cremation here in Ireland.'
Funds raised would also go to the 'transportation of his ashes to Brazil, where his family is waiting to hold a funeral and burial with the dignity and love that Ailton deserves.'
The appeal adds that 'any amount, no matter how small, will be of immense help'.

A Dublin Fire Brigade spokesperson said at the time that they had been called at 8.13am to reports of a fire in a building off Granby Row.
'On arrival firefighters found a four storey building with a fire located on the third floor,' the spokesperson said.
'In total, seven people were treated at the scene with three being transported to hospital by two Dublin Fire Brigade ambulances and one National Ambulance Service ambulance.
"Six fire engines were sent to the incident including a turntable ladder and emergency tender. Breathing apparatus teams were committed to fight and extinguish the fire and it is now under control.'
Gardaí added that they had assisted emergency services at the scene.
"The scene is currently being preserved and street is closed with local diversions in place,' a Garda spokesperson said.
'Three people have been taken to hospital. Investigation is ongoing."
