The latest OnePlus rumor claims exciting new devices are coming in 2026
After revealing the existence of the so-called OnePlus 15T, a compact flagship that's expected to arrive sometime in 2026, reliable leaker Digital Chat Station is back with yet another exciting rumor. According to DCS, OnePlus is working on a compact tablet that will be introduced alongside the company's rumored OnePlus 15T. The upcoming slate will be equipped with a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, which means it will be part of OnePlus's flagship lineup. While DCS didn't reveal any other details about the OnePlus Pad 3 Mini (possible name), the tipster did say that the other compact device launching alongside the tablet, the OnePlus 15T, will feature a 6.3-inch display.This claim doesn't really come as a surprise, especially since the upcoming OnePlus 15T is not the company's first compact flagship. The OnePlus 13T made its debut on the market back in April and features a 6.3-inch AMOLED display, just like the rumored OnePlus 15T.Another interesting piece of information tipped by DCS is that OnePlus will keep the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on the OnePlus 15T instead of going for the optical variant.But the most exciting news about the OnePlus 15T is that the phone will be powered by a huge 7,000 mAh battery, which is probably the biggest surprise considering that we're talking about a 'compact flagship.'

At least two other Chinese brands have similar products in the works: Oppo and Honor. The former is expected to launch the Find X9s early next year, while Honor's Magic 8 Mini is also tipped to arrive around the same period in 2026.
Finally, Xiaomi and Vivo also plan to compete in the same 'compact flagship' segment with their 16 series and X300 devices, which are expected to be introduced later this year.

The global foldable market is growing at a 'measured pace', writes TrendForce in its latest report. The main obstacles to adoption remain the same – concerns about durability, the crease and, of course, price. The analysts forecast that 19.8 million foldables will be sold this year, which would be 1.6% of the total smartphone market (about the same fraction as last year). Samsung is currently in first place on the global foldable market, though its lead over the competition is expected to evaporate – predictions see it going from 45.2% last year to 35.4% this year. This would put it only a hair ahead of Huawei, whose market share is expected to shrink slightly from 35.2% last year to 34.2% this year. That would leave just over one percentage point between the two companies. Several other makers are in the running – their shares are small but growing. For example, Honor and Motorola had 6% and 5.5% market share in 2024 and are expected to go up to 9.1% and 7.6% this year. The combined numbers for Oppo and vivo are predicted to capture 8.5% of the market. Meanwhile, Xiaomi will grow from 3% to 5.1% this year. TrendForce forecasts that the global foldable market will continue its slow but steady growth in the near future. One thing that could really shake things up is Apple entering the market. This may happen as soon as next year, with orders for foldable display panels already placed with Samsung Display. Apple is reportedly focused on eliminating the crease and using liquid metal to strengthen the phone. Nvidia's CEO also commended Huawei for its self-driving and AI technology, giving the Chinese manufacturer credit for having strong chip and system designs, and system software. While Huawei's telecommunications and network equipment are banned in the U.S., Huang says that he sees the company as a rival, not an enemy. He said, "This company is still very competitive. They are our competitors, but we can still admire and respect competitors and maintain a good relationship with them. Rivals are not enemies. The world is big, and I hope we can continue to compete for many years in the future, but my feelings for them are admiration, respect, and competition."
