Trump-pardoned real estate mogul Charles Kushner up for key diplomatic post
Kushner, the father-in-law of Ivanka Trump, was previously pardoned by President Donald Trump for federal tax evasion and Federal Election Commission violations from 2005, during the mogul's first term.
In 1985, he founded the Kushner Companies and has long been a philanthropist, particularly to Jewish causes and institutions like Yeshiva University in Washington Heights, Manhattan.
He has also donated to St. Barnabas Hospital in Essex County, New Jersey, which has a wing bearing his family name.

During his May 1 confirmation hearing, Kushner acknowledged his past legal missteps, claiming they sharpened his judgment and better prepared him for both the ambassadorship and life.

"I think that my past mistakes actually make me… better in my values to really make me more qualified to do this job," he told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Kushner, who just celebrated his 71st birthday, was nominated in November after Trump called him a "tremendous business leader, philanthropist, & dealmaker, who will be a strong advocate representing our country & its interests."

"We'll be putting a tariff on of approximately 100% on chips and semiconductors, but if you're building in the United States of America, there's no charge, even though you're building and you're not producing yet," he said. Trump has criticized Cook and Apple for efforts to shift iPhone production to India to avoid the tariffs his administration had planned for China. In May, Trump threatened to impose a 25% tariff on iPhones made outside the U.S., writing on Truth Social that he told Cook that he expected iPhones that will be sold in the U.S. to be "manufactured and built in the United States, not India or anyplace else.' The announcement proved to be good news for Apple shares, which are off 12.2% this year. "Apple jumped more than 5% following news that it was increasing its capital investment in the U.S. by $100 billion," said TheStreet Pro's James "Rev Shark" DePorre in a recent column. "This strength offsets the weakness in thousands of smaller stocks." The investments are intended to bring more of Apple's supply chain and advanced manufacturing to the U.S. as part of an initiative called the American Manufacturing Program, but it is not a full commitment to build the iPhone domestically. Analyst says Apple may be exempt from tariffs The iPhone is Apple's most popular and profitable product as it consistently generates roughly half the company's total revenue each quarter. Wedbush analyst Dan Ives praised Cook's efforts to make peace with the White House."Cook has navigated this unprecedented tariff situation, proving that he is 10% politician and 90% CEO and [that at] times like this he will be using his strong ties globally to make sure it's smoother waters for Cupertino ahead despite concerns around AAPL's growth initiatives with Trump heading down the 'America First'/tariff path," Ives said. He maintained an outperform rating and $270 price target on Apple. But he also said that producing iPhones in the US remains "unrealistic given the cost structure vs. Asia/India and remains a fairy-tale concept. ... Apple will invest in Macs, AI, and a host of other tangential initiatives, but NOT core flagship iPhones being built in the U.S." Bank of America Securities analyst Wamsi Mohan and his team boosted their price target for Apple by 10 bucks to $250 while reiterating their buy rating. "Given the recent development of Apple's increased investment in the US, it seems increasingly likely that several Apple products will be exempt from tariffs," the firm said. Apple has the potential to gain smartphone market share in the U.S. "if competitors are exposed to tariffs while iPhones were to remain exempt," he said. While the the specifics are still unclear, B of A said, Apple seems likely to be exempt from at least the announced 100% tariff on semiconductors if not totally exempt. ANTI WOKE BIAS : ‘Garden of Hate' in Queens ups ante with federal litigation charging ‘viewpoint discrimination'
The leaders of an anti-Israel community garden that demanded members take a pro-Palestinian pledge are whining in a new federal lawsuit they are the victims of 'egregious viewpoint discrimination.' Sunset Community Garden organizers claim in recently filed Central Islip Federal Court papers their license was revoked this spring as punishment for their 'expressing messages of [Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color] affirmation and anti-discrimination.' The controversial Ridgewood garden came under fire in September, when Jewish neighbors told The Post they didn't feel welcome due to the far-left, pro-Palestine rhetoric and mandate that new members pledge 'solidarity with the oppressed and marginalized people' of Palestine by the garden's management. The green space even had a special section called 'Poppies for Palestine.' 4 The fight over this green space in Ridgewood continues, now in federal court. Helayne Seidman Citing a breach of contract, the city Parks Department tried to oust the group by June 6, prompting garden leaders to quickly sue in state court. The legal action was then filed in federal court July 31. The impending eviction left leaders of the garden at Onderdonk and Willoughby avenues with 'emotional distress, and the loss of their community sanctuary,' they claimed. 4 Jewish residents felt unwelcome in the garden, in part, because of this section of the property. Instagram @sunsetgardenridgewood Parks only came after them because of their 'actual or perceived gender identities, sexual orientation, and/or race, and by the QTBIPOC-affirming nature of the Plaintiffs' expressive conduct,' they insisted in court papers. 'While the plaintiffs go court shopping, it's time for Parks to take action,' said Christina Wilkinson, a Ridgewood resident who worked to secure funding for the green space, but is now one of its most vocal critics. 'We live in a city that prides itself on its diversity, and our public resources shouldn't be run by people who openly discriminate against any segment of the population.' 4 Christina Wilkinson was one of the garden's founding members, but now opposes its woke approach. Garden leaders also claimed 'six white men entered the Garden and aggressively interrogated and menaced two immigrant stewards of color' in September, just a day after their policy was exposed by The Post. 4 The garden has now sued the city twice for discrimination. In June, garden organizer Laura Merrick renamed Sunset Community Garden to Jardin de Santa Cecilia in honor of Latina trans advocate Cecilia Gentili. The space is now home to a pair of 'altars' honoring Gentili. Jonathan Wallace, the garden leaders' attorney, did not respond to multiple requests for comment. The city's Parks Department didn't respond to requests for comment. A Law Department spokesman only confirmed the city had been served with the new lawsuit.

Hateful call to ‘attack' NYC Jewish high school probed by NYPD
A Brooklyn woman who worked as a youth organizer for 'Squad' Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez was arrested Friday on charges she urged her 25,000 social media followers to 'attack' a public high school because Jewish students attend it. Iman Abdul, 27, is accused of posting a screenshot on Thursday of the location of Leon M. Goldstein High School for the Sciences in Manhattan Beach on Google Maps and a chilling caption. 'If anyone needs a public school in NYC to attack for whatever reason … Lexus driving Israhell (sic) loving Zionists all attend here,' the since-deleted post read. Advertisement 3 Iman Abdul was arrested Friday on charges she threatened the Brooklyn high school. Obtained by the NY Post 'They've all gone on 'Birthright,' it added, referring to a popular program that offers free 10-day trips to Israel for Jewish young adults. The NYPD arrested Abdul at her Brooklyn home on Friday, charging her with making a terroristic threat, acting in a manner injurious to a child, aggravated harassment, and making a threat of mass harm. Advertisement Abdul described herself in a 2019 interview as a student at City College of NY, majoring in childhood education, sociology and Latino studies; a director at IntegrateNYC a youth–led group advocating for 'desegregation' of city schools; and a campaign youth organizer for socialist pols such as AOC and state Senator Julia Salazar. The Instagram post alarmed Jewish advocates fighting against antisemitism in city schools. 'A map. A pin. A call to harm Jews, fellow New Yorkers, children, teachers. This isn't just dangerous. It's evil. Jew-hatred doesn't stop with a threat. It escalates. We need immediate and unequivocal action,' Tova Plaut, a DOE pre-K staffer and Jewish activist, told The Post. 'I am outraged and horrified that a NYC school was publicly marked for attack simply because of its Jewish population,' she added. Obtained by the NY Post The watchdog group StopAntisemitism shared the post on X and accused Abdul of 'inviting people to attack a Jewish school,' although Goldstein HS is a secular NYC public school. 'This incitement against Jews, specifically minor children, must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,' the group declared. Advertisement Abdul doubled down in a direct message to StopAntisemitism on her Instagram account @theinmxnabdul. 'I never called for an attack on the school in the sense of mass organization or not even individual people attacking individuals, that's literally stupid,' she wrote in a word-salad response. 'I called for an attack on the school, the Zionist institution funded by our public dollars … we have every right to verbally attack the school.' 3 Leon M. Goldstein High School sits on the campus of Kingsborough Community College. Goldstein HS, with 998 students, is located on CUNY's Kingsborough Community College campus. Its extracurriculars include an Israel Club for those wishing to learn more about the country and celebrate Jewish holidays. 'This kind of hate stems from years of indoctrination from CUNY and NYC schools –it isn't born overnight,' said Moshe Spern, president of United Jewish Teachers. 'The antisemitism embedded in every university protest over the past 22 months comes as no surprise to anyone.' Israel advocate Uri Cohen also blasted the account, calling it 'full with other antisemitic content' in an X post that has racked up more than 500,000 views and comments branding Abdul as 'insufferable,' 'narcissistic' and a 'demon.' He shared a screen recording from the account showing the woman mocking complaints to police and laughing as she claimed Zionists are reporting her for exercising 'freedom of speech.' Abdul could not be reached for comment. Her Instagram account was deleted, along with her LinkedIn page.
