RCB stampede: Siddaramaiah confirms 11 deaths, announces Rs 10L aid
Bengaluru, June 4 (UNI) At least 11 people lost their lives and 33 were injured in a tragic stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Wednesday, as an overwhelming crowd gathered for Royal Challengers Bengaluru's IPL victory celebrations. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed deep grief over the incident and announced ₹10 lakh compensation for the families of each of the deceased, all of whom were young men and women. "No one anticipated this. Neither the Cricket Association nor the government expected such a huge crowd. The stadium can accommodate only 35,000 people, but over two to three lakh fans turned up," Siddaramaiah told reporters, explaining that the rally had to be organised early this morning following last evening's IPL final. Thousands of jubilant fans had gathered near the gates of the stadium since early morning, hoping to catch a glimpse of their favourite players and the trophy. The situation spiralled out of control when the surging crowd overwhelmed entry points, triggering a deadly stampede. "Thirty-three people have been injured, with 47 reported to have sustained varying levels of trauma initially. Some were discharged after treatment," the Chief Minister stated, adding that all injured individuals would receive free medical care. Siddaramaiah assured that those undergoing treatment in both government and private hospitals will have their medical expenses fully borne by the state. "I have spoken with doctors to ensure proper treatment for all the injured," he said. The tragedy has cast a shadow over what was meant to be a jubilant public celebration of RCB's maiden IPL title. The Chief Minister has ordered officials to expedite compensation and ensure families of the deceased are supported. UNI BDN SSP

BCCI floats RFP for IPL and WPL digital services
Mumbai, June 4 (UNI) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday invited proposals from reputed entities to provide digital services for the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Women's Premier League (WPL), aiming to further enhance the digital presence and fan engagement of both premier T20 competitions. Issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP), the cricket board said, 'The BCCI invites proposals from reputed entities to acquire the rights and obligations to provide services relating to IPL and WPL Digital Properties.' The RFP document outlines the terms, conditions, and technical specifications governing the submission and evaluation of bids. It can be purchased upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Rs 2.50 lakh plus applicable GST for Indian entities, and USD 2,925 for foreign entities. The RFP will be available from June four. The last date to seek clarifications is June 20, the deadline to purchase the RFP is June 25, and completed proposals must be submitted by July seven. Only those meeting the eligibility criteria will be eligible to bid. Indian applicants must have a minimum annual turnover of Rs 15 crore, while foreign applicants must show equivalent turnover. Applicants must also have at least eight years of relevant digital service experience, with preference given to those with a track record in sports, particularly cricket, and expertise in broadcast-integrated digital solutions. 'It is clarified that merely purchasing the RFP does not entitle any person to bid,' the BCCI stated, adding that only those who meet the eligibility conditions and submit complete documentation will be allowed to participate in the bidding process. Interested parties must email payment confirmation to [rfp@ as per the procedure laid out in the RFP's Annexure A. The RFP documents will be shared only after verification of payment and relevant details. The BCCI further clarified that it 'reserves the right to cancel or amend the RFP process at any stage in any manner without providing any reason.' UNI BDN SS

Yuzvendra Chahal Clicks Selfie With Fan, Mahvash Walks Away Amid Dating Rumours
Last Updated: As speculations continue, both Chahal and Mahvash have chosen to remain silent, neither confirming nor denying the status of their relationship. Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and social media personality RJ Mahvash were spotted together at the Mumbai airport on Tuesday night, just hours after the IPL 2025 final. While Chahal paused to click selfies with fans, Mahvash maintained distance, walking off swiftly without interacting with the paparazzi. Chahal, who was part of the Punjab Kings squad this season, sported a casual look in a yellow T-shirt and blue pants. Mahvash was seen in a black tracksuit layered over a white tee. Despite arriving together, the two kept a visible distance while exiting the airport. Mahvash walked alongside a friend while Chahal briefly interacted with fans. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Viral Bhayani (@viralbhayani) This isn't the first time the duo has been seen together. Mahvash has frequently been spotted in the stands during Punjab Kings matches, seemingly cheering for Chahal. The two were previously seen leaving Bengaluru airport together during the tournament, further stoking rumours. While neither Chahal nor Mahvash has officially confirmed any romantic involvement, fan speculation has been rife, especially after the two were seen at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final. Mahvash has, however, denied the dating rumours in interviews, maintaining that she and Chahal are just friends. In a candid conversation with Yuvaa on YouTube, Mahvash opened up about her personal life and dating preferences. 'I'm very single and happy. I don't understand the current concept of marriage, and I am someone who would only date someone when I want to marry that person, so I don't go out on casual dates. Just like Ali in Dhoom, I start imagining kids and the future," she said. Chahal's personal life has been under public scrutiny ever since news of his separation from choreographer Dhanashree Verma surfaced. Their divorce was finalised at the Bandra family court on March 20, bringing an end to their marriage that began in December 2020. As speculations continue, both Chahal and Mahvash have chosen to remain silent, neither confirming nor denying the status of their relationship. First Published:
