As the Cannes Film Festival draws to a close, Kannada actor
Pranitha Subhash
shared her joy with Bangalore Times, beaming about her first time at the event. 'When I was in school, seeing Hollywood stars on the iconic Cannes stairs made me wonder how important they must be to get invited,' Pranitha recalled, adding, 'It felt incredible and inaccessible for a girl like me.
' She added that while she's since graced major global events as an actor and entrepreneur, Cannes remained on her wish list — until now. When she found out she'd be attending the festival this year, she was thrilled.
'One of the first events I attended was a panel discussion at the India Pavilion, where I spoke on how India is now a force to be reckoned with on the global stage, especially in entertainment. I was happy that
Homebound
proved exactly what I was talking about,' she says. 'I'm happy that today the festival has more representation across regions and has become more inclusive. I have attended many panel discussions and given many interviews at Cannes, and I'm glad my dream has come true. Cinema has made it possible for so many talents to come together from various countries, proving that art indeed has no barrier,' says the actor, who will be touring the French Riviera with her husband Nitin Raju before heading home.

Newly released teaser of ‘8 Vasantalu' promises a breezy, emotionally rich monsoon romance

After creating a buzz with its impactful first teaser, the makers of 8 Vasantalu have unveiled a second teaser, deepening curiosity with its poetic visuals and emotionally layered storytelling. Directed by Phanindra Narsetti and backed by top production house Mythri Movie Makers, the film stars Ananthika Sanilkumar in the lead and is set for a theatrical release on June 20. Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar, the teaser opens with a visually lyrical scene—Ananthika, soaked in the rain, silently watching Sanjay, a Telugu writer newly arrived in Ooty. Her voiceover captures the complexity of his character: 'When he writes with love, his words bloom like roses kissed by rain. But when he writes with rage, they strike like grenades with pins unchained.' The narrative hints at an evolving emotional connection between the leads. One standout line—'Girls prefer someone who gently wipes their tears and shows kindness, rather than someone who holds a sword and shows only anger'—strikes a powerful emotional chord. The teaser ends with a touching sentiment from the male lead: 'Love is not a destination to reach, but a journey we are meant to take,' highlighting the film's soulful tone. Visually enchanting, every frame carries emotional depth. Vishwanath Reddy's cinematography and Hesham Abdul Wahab's music elevate the film's romantic aura. With production design by Aravind Mule and editing by Shashank Mali, 8 Vasantalu promises a rich cinematic experience.

Rana Daggubati breaks silence on Deepika Padukone's alleged 8-hour workday demand for exiting Prabhas's 'Spirit': ‘There are actors who only work four hours a day…'

Tollywood star Rana Daggubati has joined the ongoing discussion about work-life balance following Deepika Padukone 's alleged demand for eight-hour workdays in Sandeep Reddy Vanga 's film 'Spirit', which recently stirred considerable buzz in the entertainment industry. Reports suggested that Deepika opted out of the Prabhas-starrer due to contractual disagreements regarding her working hours and remuneration. Rana Daggubati on work life balance In an interview with The Lallantop, Rana offered a perspective on the practicality of implementing uniform work schedules in the Indian film industry. 'We should understand that India is a developing country. We are not a developed nation. Our economy is probably 186th in the world if you look at the per capita income. So to me, it is not work, it is a lifestyle,' he stated. No Makeup, All Style: Deepika Padukone's Travel Fashion Win Rana also highlighted the diverse nature of film production across various regions. The Telugu actor explained that there is no universal template.'It depends on the project, the person, and the region. For example, Maharashtra follows a 12-hour shift starting at 9 am, while Telugu cinema typically has an 8-hour shift beginning at 7 am,' he noted. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Rana about Deepika's alleged 8-Hour workdays demand He further shared his personal view on the physical and mental toll of extended shooting schedules on actors. 'Nobody is forcing anybody. It's a job. It's a choice. Everyone has their own opinion on what's important to them. There are actors who only work four hours a day — that's their system,' he said. About Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Deepika Padukone's cold war Amidst the ongoing debate, a new report from News18 claimed that Deepika Padukone's exit from Spirit had no connection to work-life balance. Instead, the report alleged that she had demanded a higher remuneration along with a share in the profits, and had declined to deliver dialogues in Telugu. However, the Jawan actress' team has yet to respond to these claims. Following her departure, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga posted a cryptic message on X (formerly Twitter), referring to it as a 'dirty PR game.'
