The service features thousands of fresh grocery items, from produce to frozen goods, alongside millions of other Amazon products.The selection includes fresh fruits such as strawberries, Honeycrisp apples, limes, and avocados; dairy items like milk, cheese, and yogurt; fresh meats and seafood; bakery items; and frozen meals. Customers can also include household products, electronics, and books in the same order for delivery within hours.

'Thousands of fresh grocery items are now available alongside millions of everyday Amazon.com products, all delivered within hours,' the company stated. Prime members can get free same-day delivery on orders over $25, while non-members can use the service for $12.99 per order.
The expansion complements Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, and other local grocery and specialty retailers available on Amazon. The company uses temperature-controlled fulfillment centers to ensure freshness, with each item undergoing a six-point quality check before delivery. Perishables are shipped in insulated, recyclable bags to maintain proper temperature. The service was first tested in Phoenix; Orlando, Florida; and Kansas City, Missouri. Amazon said that strawberries, Honeycrisp apples, limes, and avocados are among the most popular same-day delivery grocery items.
Customers can access the offering by visiting the Same-Day Store on Amazon.com and selecting the Food and Grocery category. Orders can combine groceries with other same-day delivery products, including electronics, kitchenware, and entertainment items.A June 2025 Capital One Shopping Research report found that 138.3 million Americans purchased groceries online in 2024, with 28 per cent doing so at least once a month. On average, online shoppers spend nearly 29.4 per cent of their grocery budgets online. The top three categories purchased were nonperishable foods, soft drinks, and fresh food.

US consumers are increasingly less swayed by country-of-origin labels—including 'Made in USA'—than they were three years ago, according to The Conference Board (TCB) report. The influence of the 'Made in USA' tag on buying decisions has dropped 18 per cent since 2022. 'Country-of-origin cues still matter—but their influence is slipping,' said Denise Dahlhoff, PhD, director of marketing and communications Research at The Conference Board and author of the report. 'As price concerns intensify, many US consumers appear to associate 'made in' labels with elevated prices due to generally higher domestic production costs as well as tariffs on foreign-made goods. Increasingly, consumers prioritise value and affordability over emotional affinity for certain countries, including their own.' The share of consumers saying they are more likely to buy based on where a product is made has fallen sharply. In 2025, around half say knowing a product is made in the US would prompt them to purchase—an 11-point drop from three years ago. 'Made in USA' on purchases has fallen 18 per cent since 2022, with older and White consumers driving the decline, according to The Conference Board. Price concerns outweigh patriotic sentiment, though younger buyers show slight optimism. Affluent consumers favour upscale origins, Canada leads foreign preferences, while low-cost producers see limited appeal. The support has fallen most among Americans aged 55+, a group once most loyal to domestic brands. Among White consumers, the decline was also pronounced, suggesting growing price sensitivity. Younger Americans, however, are showing slightly more positive sentiment, linking US-made goods with sustainability and job creation. The TCB report found affluent buyers valued upscale country origins like France, Germany, and Japan—though this effect weakened among households earning $200,000+. Canada emerged as the most favoured foreign source, followed by Mexico, while China remained the least preferred among the US' top import partners. The low-cost manufacturing nations such as India, Vietnam, and Bangladesh continued to have limited appeal. The latest findings from The Conference Board are based on a survey of 3,000 US adults. That credit, worth up to $1,400 per person, was tied to COVID-era stimulus programs, but the deadline to file for it passed on April 15. 'Millions of Americans could soon receive a $1,390 stimulus check, according to reports citing the U.S. Treasury Department and the IRS. The payment is aimed at providing relief to low and middle-income households and is expected to roll out in late summer,' one account noted on X, platform formerly known as Twitter. The facts New stimulus payments cannot be issued without congressional approval. No legislation authorizing such payments has been passed in 2024.
