Soccer-Chelsea's Portugal forward Joao Felix joins Al-Nassr
(Reuters) -Portugal forward Joao Felix has joined Al-Nassr from Club World Cup winners Chelsea on a two-year contract, the Saudi Pro League club said on Tuesday.
"Let's win together ... Joao Felix is a Nasraoui," Al-Nassr wrote on X, along with a short video of the striker. "I'm here to have fun and win together," the 25-year-old said.
Felix moved from Benfica to Atletico Madrid in 2019 when he was only 19 and then joined Chelsea on loan for the 2022-2023 campaign before being loaned to Barcelona the following season. He made a permanent move to Chelsea in August 2024.
After just six months, Chelsea loaned the forward to AC Milan before his latest transfer to Saudi Arabia.
Felix will play alongside Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr, who are coached by compatriot Jorge Jesus.
They face Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Super Cup semi-finals on August 19.

Saudi Arabia has shaken up football by spending heavily on stars from Europe, starting with Ronaldo's arrival in 2023, and the conservative desert nation will host the World Cup in 2034. Many of the signings have been ageing stars, but Felix bucks the trend along with Mateo Retegui, 26, the Serie A top-scorer who joined Al Qadsiah last week. French international Theo Hernandez, 27, left AC Milan for Al Hilal in a reported US$29 million deal earlier this month. Top coaches have also been lured to Saudi Arabia, including Italy's Simone Inzaghi who led Al Hilal to an upset win over Manchester City at the Club World Cup. At Al Nassr, Felix will be working under Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, who was sacked by Al Hilal in May following their defeat in the Asian Champions League semi-finals. — AFP

Isak, who bagged 23 league goals last season, only behind Liverpool talisman and Golden Boot winner Mohamed Salah (29), was left out of Newcastle's squad for their pre-season tour of Asia. The 25-year-old, capped 52 times for Sweden, joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad in 2022 and has since netted 62 times in 109 appearances across all competitions. After Newcastle's 3-2 defeat by Arsenal in Singapore yesterday, Howe told reporters the tour was 'business as usual' for the players. 'You don't get a chance when you come on to these tours to think of anything other than training, the next game, the level is so high that even in these games we have to be very well prepared,' he added. 'We have to try and be at our best. So naturally, I think we're going to miss a player of Alex's quality and the group are going to feel that. There's no denying that. 'And I can't sit here and claim that they (the players) won't. But they're a very professional group of players and they're doing brilliantly as far as I can see in terms of managing the situation.' Newcastle, who qualified for Champions League football after finishing fifth in the Premier League last season, are next in action against a K-League XI in South Korea on Wednesday.
