The tribute kicked off with former host Keshia Chanté introducing Ashanti—who made history as the first artist to have a video retired on the show. The R&B star performed a smooth medley of her early 2000s hits 'Happy' and 'Foolish,' drawing cheers from the crowd. Jim Jones followed with a high-energy rendition of his anthem 'Ballin',' setting the tone for Amerie's lively recreation of her '1 Thing' dance routine.
Keeping the momentum going, Terrence J hit the stage to introduce Keyshia Cole. The singer delivered an emotional performance of 'I Should Have Cheated,' which had the entire crowd singing along. Mya continued the nostalgic wave with her 2000 hit 'Case of the Ex,' paired with a routine reminiscent of her original video. Shortly after, hosts Julissa Bermudez and Big Tigger brought out Atlanta legend T.I., who fired up the audience with a medley of his hits 'Bring Em Out' and 'What You Know.'
Longtime co-host Free made a solo appearance, taking viewers back to 106 & Park's early years. She upped the excitement by reuniting all four members of B2K—Omarion, Lil Fizz, Raz B, and J-Boog—who performed their chart-topping hit 'Bump, Bump, Bump,' with Fizz handling Diddy's original verse.
Finally, Mr. 106 & Park himself, Bow Wow, closed out the tribute with a string of fan favorites including 'Take Ya Home' and 'Like You.' He then brought out longtime collaborator Jermaine Dupri for a surprise finale performance of 'Fresh Azimiz.'
Capping off the tribute, Cam Newton and Ashley Nicole Moss announced 106 & Sports, a new BET series inspired by the original countdown show, set to debut this fall.

Happy Gilmore 2 delivers chaotic nostalgia and crude humor in Netflix sequel
Nearly three decades after the original, Happy Gilmore 2 lands on Netflix with Adam Sandler reprising his iconic role. But rather than a fresh narrative, the sequel leans heavily into nostalgia — packed with references, clips, and a cast of returning characters designed to please long-time fans. The story finds Happy in a downward spiral. He's broke, grieving after the accidental death of his wife Virginia (Julie Bowen), and working at a supermarket while struggling to fund his daughter's Paris ballet tuition. Urged by former golf pro John Daly, he returns to the sport, but humiliation soon follows. Sobering up in a support group led by Ben Stiller's returning orderly Hal, Happy makes one last attempt at redemption on the green. Things take a surreal turn when Happy's competition comes in the form of 'Maxi Golf' — a flashy, enhanced new league run by a breath-challenged CEO played by Benny Safdie. Cameos flood the screen, from Margaret Qualley and Eric André to real-life pro golfers. Christopher McDonald's return as Shooter McGavin adds chaos and charm, while the late Carl Weathers' legacy continues through his character's son, Slim Peterson. A flood of celebrity appearances — including Sandler's family members — underscores the film's commitment to fan service. Most, however, leave little impression. Bad Bunny, as Happy's oddball caddie, is a rare exception who stands out with quirky comedic timing. Despite the lazy pacing and worn-out gags — mostly involving wayward golf balls — Sandler delivers what his fans expect. Happy Gilmore 2 may be crude and self-indulgent, but for viewers seeking comfort in chaos, it delivers exactly what was promised.

DJ Cassidy to spin tunes at jeff bezos and lauren sánchez's venice wedding celebration
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are set to celebrate their nuptials in Venice, Italy, with a grand celebration on Saturday night. While the couple's wedding ceremony is taking place on Friday, the highlight of the weekend will be the party, which will feature a performance by DJ Cassidy, a celebrity favorite known for his high-profile appearances. Cassidy, who played at Beyoncé and Jay-Z's 2008 wedding, has also spun tunes at events like Elton John's Oscar party, both of President Barack Obama's inaugurations, and the 2024 Democratic National Convention. The party will be held in the historic Arsenale area, with a star-studded guest list that includes Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Tom Brady, Bill Gates, Diane Von Furstenberg, Kim Kardashian, and Kris Jenner, among others. Cassidy's past gigs also include performances for Naomi Campbell, President Joe Biden, and Jennifer Lopez, further solidifying his status as one of the most sought-after DJs in the industry. His 'Pass the Mic Live' tour was even turned into a special for BET. Speculation about other possible performers includes Sir Elton John and Lady Gaga, with rumors circulating that they might take the stage at one of the couple's events over the course of the three-day celebration. On Friday, the couple's wedding ceremony will take place on San Giorgio Maggiore island, featuring a performance by Matteo Bocelli, the son of renowned Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli. Guests for the event have been kept in the dark about the precise locations, with sources confirming they were only given the event times, not details. Earlier, Bezos and Sánchez hosted a welcome party at Madonna dell'Orto church, which was abruptly cut short due to a thunderstorm. Despite the rain, the event was attended by VIP guests including Orlando Bloom, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, and Ivanka Trump.
