Lennon Miller to Bologna transfer domino that has yet to fall as Celtic told 'truth' about hijack attempt

The Motherwell midfielder is attracting interest from across Europe this summer
Bologna are reportedly holding off on a formal bid for Motherwell prospect Lennon Miller as they look to sell on their key stars.

The Serie A side and their rivals Udinese are both keen on the £5million-rated teenager - who did not feature in any of the Steelmen's Premier Sports Cup group stage games.

Fir Park boss Jens Berthel Askou has admitted he could hand the 18-year-old a first appearance of the season in the Premiership opener against Rangers next Saturday if he remains at the club.

And that looks increasingly likely with Gazzetta dello Sport report that Bologna want to offload Dan Ndoye before splurging more cash in the summer market.
Napoli and Nottingham Forest are reportedly battling it out for a £43million deal - with the Italian side now pressing pause on an incoming stars as they await a cash injection.
That leaves the door open other clubs to snap up the Scotland internatioanal with Udinese and Como among the interested parties - while Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is understood to be a fan of Miller.

And despite his dad Lee stating that Miller Jr is keen on a move away from the Scottish Premiership, the Hoops have been urged to push for a deal before it's too late.
Former Parkhead defender Charlie Mulgrew reckons the Scottish champions could land the wonderkid for a low fee, telling Go Radio: "I'd love to see Celtic sign Lennon Miller.

"I think that'd be a brilliant bit of business. Play him in one of those number eight roles, ease him into the season, and there's no doubt, he'd be one of Celtic's top performers this year if they get him in.
'Imagine him in that position, getting loads of the ball, using that wand of a right foot to dictate games. It'd be class to watch.
'And truth be told, it wouldn't even be that expensive to get him out of Motherwell, especially with them needing to sell.'

Mega bucks Celtic signing sent four week warning as Brendan Rodgers to rubber-stamp new transfer

The transfer window closes on September 1 but Celts still have plenty of work to do Scott Allan reckons misfiring striker Adam Idah has four weeks to save his Celtic career before the transfer window closes. ‌ The £9million Irishman drew a blank on Flag Day as super-sub Luke McCowan spared the Hoops' blushes with a late winner against St Mirren. ‌ Idah has blown hot and cold since his mega-bucks move from Norwich City last summer and continues to split the Parkhead faithful. ‌ The 24-year-old was hooked for Johnny Kenny on Sunday as Celts chased a breakthrough but Brendan Rodgers is desperately searching for more firepower. And former Hoops midfielder Allan believes the coming weeks could make-or-break Idah's chances of nailing down the No.9 jersey. ‌ He told BBC Sportsound: "It's a big four weeks for Idah until the window closes. He has four weeks to show. Is he ready to be the number one striker for Celtic? "If not, then I think you will see someone coming in that position. You will see them spend a considerable amount of money on that position as well in the next four weeks, if he doesn't get off to the start that he was expected to." Meanwhile Allan has hailed Reo Hatate as the best playmaker in Scotland. The Japan star, 27, is one of the first names on Rodgers' team sheet and sparkled against the Buddies, even hitting the woodwork. Allan is his biggest fan as he raved: "For me, Reo Hatate is the best midfielder in the country in terms of the creative areas and he's got the end product to go with it. He's got that through pass that we see time and time again." Incoming Manchester City defender Jahmai Simpson-Pusey was spotted in the stands on Sunday and is expected to rubber-stamp his season-long loan deal in the next 24 hours.

I quit my life in Scotland to become a US wrestling star

Luke Scouler, from Motherwell, left his job as a residential carer for young people to pursue his dream of being a pro wrestler. In just a few years, Luke, now known to fans as Crixus, has transitioned from sleeping in a gym car park to becoming a breakout star at Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), an American wrestling brand which propelled the careers of John Cena and Dave Batista. The Scottish War Machine, who featured in the hit Netflix documentary Wrestlers, was also crowned OVW's first-ever Scottish champion. Luke (AKA Crixus) now stars in the Netflix-famous Ohio Valley Wrestling (Image: Supplied) Read more: Canadian star says THIS Scottish man is a 'certified f****** legend' Luke, 33, previously worked in residential care at Inspire Scotland, a social care organisation that supports children and young people. He recalled his decision to leave his job and home almost instantly after watching wrestling on TV. Luke said: 'I really loved that job. "But it was tough emotionally. "I've always had a bit of a Batman complex – I thought I was going to save everybody. 'I was in a bad place with it. "I knew it wasn't for me, and I was burned out. "I remember sitting in my house in Newmains watching TV with my dog, Odin, when wrestling came on and I just thought: 'Screw it, let's go.' "Scots have made it big in this business – why couldn't I?" Luke drove to London that same night and enrolled in a wrestling academy run by former WWE star and current OVW head trainer Al Snow. He said: "I drove through the night with no plan and no place to stay. "Me and the dog slept in the car for a bit. "Eventually the guy who ran it asked if I was serious. "I told him I'd already quit my job and left my house. "That was it. "We moved into the gym and didn't go back." Luke joined OVW in 2019 after coming first in a 300-person wrestling combine. However, his career was halted due to Covid, forcing him to stay in the UK for two years. Now based in Kentucky, he is one of the biggest stars at the promotion, and believes his Scottish roots are what set him up for success. Luke said: "We've got thicker skin, especially in Glasgow. "You're battle-ready by the time you leave primary school, so wrestling comes naturally to us. "I'm a smartass cheeky b******, and the accent helps too. "Over here in the States, people already think we're mental which helps. "I just turned my personality up to 11. "I wasn't pretending to be someone else – just the version of me you probably wouldn't want to sit next to in a pub. "I get to act like an a**** and they still love me. "They boo you, but they're cheering underneath." Al Snow, his mentor, believes Luke could be the next big Scottish wrestling star. "With Crixus, we may have another superstar on our hands. "His dedication has been incredible. "To make it in this business, you have to sacrifice and do things out of the ordinary. "And that's why I think he's got what it takes."

Aberdeen icon Willie Miller reckons Hearts and Hibs have a major part to play at the top end of the Premiership table this season. Both sides have already started their competitive seasons, Hearts winning four out of four in the Premier Sports Cup group stages, while Hibs showed up well versus Midtjylland in Europa League qualifying despite eventual defeat in the second leg. They started their league endeavours with a 2-1 win at Dundee and the Jambos begin their term versus Miller's former side. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad With Rangers in a state of change under new head coach Russell Martin, the former defender senses a chance for Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen to pounce on Ibrox transitioning, with Motherwell holding them to a 1-1 draw. He has backed those three sides to cause Rangers issues in the hunt to dethrone Celtic as champions. Willie Miller on Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs Miller was asked by Sportsound host Kenny MacIntyre if he felt the Scottish Cup holders were favourites for third. He responded: 'Difficult to say, Kenny, to be honest. I think that the season, last season, was so unpredictable. Very good start, and it tailed away in a magnificent finish. Jimmy Thelin, you know, he's an experienced manager, he's brought a trophy to the club, he'll get the backing of the chairman, there's no doubt that there's funds there for him to spend. He has been spending them, he's spending the cash that's available to him as well. 'Hearts have got off to a flyer, they've got that momentum going haven't they, and I'm sure Alan Preston will be delighted with that, and a very, very experienced manager as well. Hibs looking extremely strong, although not winning in Europe, but looking strong in terms of the quality that they've got too. When you're looking at the title race, it's, these teams that we're speaking about that are going to have a huge impact in who's lifting the title, or who is... if Rangers can actually put up a strong challenge to Celtic. 'They've got to take care of these three who I think at this moment in time, going into this season. are strong sides. If they can't take care of the Aberdeen Hibs and Hearts, then they won't get close to Celtic.' Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen verdict on race for third Earlier in the show, Rory Loy was previewing the start to the Premiership season, where excitement for the third place battle was high. Former Jambos skipper Steven Pressley, however, has been backed to show himself keen on proving doubters wrong amid many tipping his Dundee side to struggle. The ex Falkirk and Rangers striker said: I'm excited for the race for third. Aberdeen, Hibs, Hearts. I think Hearts have got a big plus in that they're not in European competition. Of course you want to be there but so many of our clubs have struggled getting through the qualifiers, so I think the race for third is a big talking point. 'Steven Presley and Dundee will be desperate to prove everyone wrong who's tipping them to struggle, so the battle for relegation is always an interesting one. But I think third place is going to be really hotly contested this year.
