He was previously head coach at Fleetwood Town - and now the Daily Record say he could be set to return north of the border in the top job at Fir Park.
We told you yesterday how Central Coast Mariners boss Mark Jackson had emerged as a shock candidate for the job.
Leeds-born Jackson, a former defender who mainly played in England's lower leagues, has spent the past three years Down Under after previously bossing MK Dons.
He has won an A-League Premiership and Championship as well as the Asian Champions League Two title.
In the 2023-24 season Jackson and the Mariners won a Double, emulating ex-Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou who achieved the feat with Brisbane Road in 2010-11.
Jackson took over from Nick Montgomery who had left to become manager of Hibs following the club's A-League Grand Final victory.
The 47-year-old honed his coaching talents working at Leeds United, where he came through the ranks as a player.
The Fir Park side were rocked when Michael Wimmer chose to step down from the club.
He departed at the end of the season for family reasons to join SVV Jahn Regensburg.
Robbie Neilson and Tony Docherty have also been linked with the position but the 'Well board have shown they're unafraid to look outwith the usual contenders for the role.

However, former F1 star Ralf Schumacher has tipped the 51-year-old to take up an improved position at French constructor Alpine. According to Schumacher, 49, Horner could be tempted to leave Red Bull if controversial Alpine boss and majority owner Flavio Briatore offered him shares in the team. A similar deal took F1 design legend Adrian Newey from Red Bull to Aston Martin last year. In the reality Horner does decide to leave Red Bull after two decades of service, Schumacher also earmarked a possible replacement. Ex-Red Bull mechanic claims Max Verstappen will quit F1 this year He added: "If I were (Red Bull CEO) Oliver Mintzlaff, I would call Andreas Seidl right away and try to get him." Seidl, 49, was previously the CEO of Sauber and team principal of McLaren in F1. He led McLaren from 2019 to December 2022, when it was announced he would be joining Sauber in January 2023. In March 2024 he was then announced as the CEO of Audi's F1 operations, but after just four months he was axed and replaced by former Ferrari chief Mattia Binotto. The 2025 F1 season returns this weekend at the Canadian Grand Prix, with McLaren's Oscar Piastri leading the World Drivers Championship by 10 points ahead of team-mate Lando Norris. Red Bull's reigning world champion Max Verstappen is 49 points off the pace after losing his head at the Spanish Grand Prix when he crashed his car deliberately into rival George Russell. Verstappen's actions put him on the cusp of a race ban after the FIA slapped him with three penalty points on his superlicence. One more point before June 30 means he will face a race ban, so the Dutchman will need to be on his best behaviour for this weekend's race in Canada and the following weekend's Austria Grand Prix. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton has rubbished retirement talk after declaring his last race with Ferrari was one of the "worst he had ever experienced".
