Texas A&M transfer forward's 2025 eligibility is hanging in the balance
The issue is simple to explain: Rashaun Agee has been playing college basketball since the 2020 season, starting his career with New Mexico State, where he initially redshirted. In 2021, Agee was injured during the first game of the year, leading to his transfer to Casper College in the JUCO ranks during the 2022 campaign. After one season at Casper, Agee transferred to Bowling Green, where he starred for two seasons before moving on to USC the following season.
After averaging 9.4 points and shooting an impressive 55% from the field, Agee announced his transfer to Texas A&M this summer and was the latest player to arrive on campus while still dealing with eligibility issues. When asked about his current status, here is what Bucky McMillan had to say about his current state with the team:
'You'd hope we get an answer here sooner rather than later…He's a guy that's worth fighting for. I think his circumstances are certainly worth the NCAA taking a close look at it. He's valuable to our group.'
This would be Agee's seventh collegiate season, but something that could play in his favor is the fact that current Texas A&M baseball utility player Travis Chesnutt was recently granted a final year of eligibility after transferring from a JUCO program, so Agee is not in a terrible spot to receive good news.

Sophomore CB has been 'one of the shining stars' for Texas A&M this preseason
Texas A&M's 2025 cornerback rotation features familiar faces with Will Lee III, Tyreek Chappell and Dezz Ricks returning to the lineup, while Georgia transfer Julian Humphrey and Washington transfer Jordan Shaw provide adequate depth to a room that struggled down the stretch of the 2024 season. Coach Mike Elko will now be calling defensive plays, and knowing his background coaching the secondary, this group shouldn't be a unit opposing teams looking forward to testing through the air. While Will Lee is seen as the most dependable veteran on the roster, Ricks has been hard at work during the preseason. After the Aggies' 16th preseason practice on Tuesday, the former five-star prospect spoke to the media for the first time this year, finally providing insight on why he chose Texas A&M after transferring from Alabama, stating that his familiarity with defensive coordinator Jay Bateman sealed the deal. Bateman, who had a big part in landing Ricks from the portal, revealed on Tuesday that Ricks played over 650-plus snaps during his redshirt freshman season in 2024, which is exceptionally challenging for any young player. Still, his improvement this month has been nothing short of impressive, calling him "one of the shining stars" during the preseason. At wide receiver, Elko, OC Collin Klein, and WR Holmon Wiggins deserve the credit for landing KC Concepcion and Mario Craver from the transfer portal. At the same time, sophomore Ashton Bethel-Roman has been another "shining star" due to his elite speed and fluid route running. Ricks, who has covered all three players in practice, is excited to see just how good Texas A&M's passing game can be, knowing the talent level has dramatically increased. "KC (Concepcion), he's really good, how he runs routes, Mario Craver, real twitchy guy, Ashton Bethel-Roman, a lot of speed, he can stretch the field." Elko and Bateman's trust in Ricks shouldn't be surprising to anyone knowing his talent level, while his 6'1", 188-pound frame, length, and impressive speed make him one of the top candidates to improve significantly, and is still on track to earn one of the two starting outside corner spots. Wisconsin football transfer edge named to Comeback Player of the Year watch list
Wisconsin football transfer edge rusher Mason Reiger was named to the Comeback Player of the Year watch list on Tuesday. Reiger, who missed the entire 2024 slate with a knee injury, was one of 75 players across 51 programs to earn a spot on the preseason list. Including Reiger, a total of 13 players from the Big Ten appeared on the lengthy list. The 6-foot-5 outside linebacker joined Luke Fickell's program in December following four seasons with the Louisville Cardinals. In 32 total games from 2021-23, the Illinois native logged 49 total tackles (32 solo), 17 for loss, 8.0 sacks, four forced fumbles and three pass deflections. As a redshirt junior in 2023, Reiger tallied a career-best 22 tackles and 5.0 sacks. In a top-10 win over Notre Dame, he showed out with a season-high four tackles, two sacks for 12 yards and one forced fumble. As a transfer this winter, Reiger was considered 247Sports' No. 18 overall edge and a four-star prospect. His addition to the Badgers' defense, which accounted for 17 total sacks and 42 tackles for loss in 2024, will provide a much-needed boost in scenarios where Mike Tressel elects to hunt the opposing quarterback. Reiger projects to line up at right outside linebacker ahead of veteran Aaron Witt. Darryl Peterson, Tackett Curtis and Christian Alliegro are slated to accompany the first-year Badger as starters in the linebacker room -- a group that has traditionally performed at a high level at the center of the Wisconsin defense. Former Wisconsin standout placed on injured reserve, ruled out for 2025 NFL season
The Indianapolis Colts placed rookie safety Hunter Wohler on injured reserve on Monday, ending his 2025 season. In addition to Wohler, the Colts also placed offensive tackle Blake Freeland and linebacker Jacob Phillips on IR. In corresponding moves, the team signed cornerback Xavien Howard, linebacker Joseph Vaughn and former Wisconsin Badger linebacker Jake Chaney. Wohler had been one of the Colts' training camp standouts after joining the team as a seventh-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft. He tallied a team-leading nine tackles during its preseason opener against the Baltimore Ravens, plus recorded several highlight interceptions off superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson during the preceding week's joint practice. The former Wisconsin standout was in the lineup to start the Colts' preseason contest against the Green Bay Packers, though he left the first drive with what is now clearly a major foot injury. As noted, the Colts placing Wohler on injured reserve rules him out for the entire 2025 season. Given his trajectory during training camp, Wohler should have a roster spot locked up entering the 2026 season. Badger fans will have to wait until then to see the team captain and multi-year starter make his impact at the NFL level. He concluded his four-year Wisconsin career with 229 tackles, 12 for loss, two sacks, three interceptions and 13 pass deflections. His best season came as a junior in 2023: 120 tackles, six for loss, one sack, two interception and six pass deflections. Wohler's move to the IR opened up a roster spot for Chaney, who now has a limited time to make a strong impression and earn a practice squad contract. If he can stick with the team, the Colts may soon battle the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most former Badgers on their roster. They're already set to enter the year with running back Jonathan Taylor and center Tanor Bortolini in starting roles.
