Van Halen's David Lee Roth, 70, Spotted in Rare Outing in L.A.

Van Halen's David Lee Roth made a rare outing in Los Angeles on June 26 He kept a low profile in a pair of brown Carhartt overalls and a tan baseball cap The 70-year-old rock legend's L.A. outing came nearly two months after he performed his first solo concert in five years and announced a summer 2025 tourDavid Lee Roth was spotted making a rare public outing in Los Angeles last week. On June 26, the Van Halen star, 70, was photographed leaving a building. He kept a low profile in a pair of brown Carhartt overalls, a brown work jacket and brown cowboy boots. The rock legend — once known for his long hair and often going shirtless on stage — also wore a tan baseball cap and had a colorful bandana tied around his neck. Roth's L.A. outing came nearly two months after he performed his first solo concert in five years at the M3 Rock Festival in Columbia, Maryland, on May 3. His set list for the gig exclusively featured Van Halen classics. That same day, Roth surprised fans by announcing a summer tour that is set to kick off on July 22 in Paso Robles, Calif., and wrap in Napa, Calif., on Sept. 14. He will also make stops in Florida, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Oklahoma and more states. Back in October 2021, Roth announced his intention to retire from music. He said he would be ending his career with five shows at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay in January 2022. "I am throwing in the shoes. I'm retiring," Roth told the Las Vegas Review-Journal at the time. "This is the first, and only, official announcement. You've got the news. Share it with the world." He added, "I'm not going to explain the statement. The explanation is in a safe. These are my last five shows." In the summer of 2021, he had been on the road, touring with Van Halen. He rejoined the band — best known for hits including "Jump," "Hot for Teacher" and "Why Can't This Be Love" — in 2006 after a split of more than 20 years. Roth, who was just days away from celebrating his 67th birthday at the time, also told the outlet that he was "compelled to really come to grips with how short time is, and my time is probably even shorter." "I've given you all I've got to give. It's been an amazing, great run, no regrets, nothing to say about anybody," he said of his impending retirement, adding, "I'll miss you all." Despite the big retirement announcement, Roth didn't stay away from music for long. He later released a series of newly recorded versions of several Van Halen hits, recorded in 2022. During his May 3 concert in Maryland, Roth alluded to his supposed retirement — with a playful nod to an iconic film. "We've reached the end of my first retirement," he joked to the crowd, per Ultimate Classic Rock. "How many retirements did Rocky have, nine?" Read the original article on People

American veterans attacked, injured while distributing aid in Gaza with US-backed group

Two American veterans working with the U.S.- and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) were injured in an attack while distributing aid to Palestinians. The two veterans are reportedly receiving medical treatment and are in stable condition. GHF said the Americans were "highly decorated" veterans. "GHF has repeatedly warned of credible threats from Hamas, including explicit plans to target American personnel, Palestinian aid workers, and the civilians who rely on our sites for food. Today's attack tragically affirms those warnings," the organization wrote on X. GHF vowed that it was still committed to the mission of delivering aid to Gazans even in the face of violent attacks. Terror In Gaza: Hamas Offers Bounties To Kill Us And Local Aid Workers, Group Says The organization later posted an image of grenade fragments left over from the attack, showing the weapons were packed with ball bearings. GHF said that after throwing the grenades the two assailants ran into a crowd of civilians. According to GHF Executive Chairman Rev. Johnnie Moore, the grenades were found to be of Iranian origin and have been "commonly used by Hamas." "I am sorry to say also that today's terror attack on Americans is partly a byproduct of the legitimacy that many in the press and at the [U.N.] provide to Hamas —amplifying Hamas's lies about GHF every day, but also actively collaborating with Hamas," Moore wrote on X. Read On The Fox News App U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee condemned the attack, saying that "With Hamas no good deed goes unpunished." People In Gaza Are Thanking Trump For Aid, Leader Of Us-backed Group Says "The Hamas terrorist organization and other terrorist groups in Gaza continue efforts to sabotage and fail the distribution of humanitarian aid at the distribution sites and on the way to them," IDF International Spokesperson Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani wrote in a statement. "IDF troops facilitated a safe evacuation for further medical treatment. The Hamas terrorist organization and other terrorist groups in Gaza continue to harm the Gazan civilians." GHF slammed the international community over its silence on the threats and violence against its aid workers. "For weeks, we warned this would happen. We asked the aid community to condemn threats. They stayed silent. We asked the media to stop laundering Hamas lies. They kept printing. Today, Hamas followed through by attacking American veterans with grenades as they delivered food. The silence is deafening. At what point is allowing Hamas to terrorize aid workers and run a propaganda campaign through Western media no longer acceptable?" The attack comes just one week after the organization said that Hamas put bounties on the heads of its workers, American and Palestinian alike. According to GHF, Hamas was offering money to anyone who killed or injured one of the organization's aid workers. "We are aware of credible reports that Hamas is openly targeting the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation and those who work with us. According to these reports, Hamas has placed bounties on both our American security personnel and Palestinian aid workers, offering cash rewards to anyone who injures or kills them," GHF told Fox News Digital. "The targets of Hamas' brutality are heroes who are simply trying to feed the people of Gaza in the middle of a war." As of July 4, GHF said it had delivered 60 million meals since it began distributing aid in article source: American veterans attacked, injured while distributing aid in Gaza with US-backed group

Today's ‘Wordle' #1478 Hints, Clues And Answer For Sunday, July 6th

How to solve today's Wordle. Looking for Saturday's Wordle hints, clues and answer? You can find them here: The long 4th Of July weekend is rapidly hurtling toward its conclusion. It's been quite lovely. Summer is in full swing and I'm just hoping we get more monsoon weather soon to cool off these hot days in the high mountain desert. We're also rapidly approach Wordle #1500. With fewer possible answers remaining than Wordles we've already solved, I keep wondering what the New York Times will do when we run out, though that's still over two years away. For now, we'll solve today's. How To Solve Today's Wordle The Hint: Today's Wordle is plural. The Clue: This Wordle has a double letter. Okay, spoilers below! The answer is coming! Today's Wordle Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here. SPARE only left me with 90 remaining solutions but even with two yellow boxes, I had a bit of trouble with this one. BOINK slashed that number to 8, which wasn't ideal (Wordle Bot says I should have picked CAROL here, and I tend to agree). VICAR left me with two, though I only came up with ATRIA. The other was RADII which is kind of an insanely obscure word. The really curious thing here is that typically Wordle answers aren't plural, but today's was. It just didn't end with an 'S' which I think must be the actual rule (no plurals ending in 'S' so no 'BOOKS' for instance). We tied, so the Wordle Bot and I get no points for that and no points for guessing in four. Our July totals remain: Erik: -2 points Wordle Bot: 4 points The word "atria" is the plural of "atrium," which comes from Latin atrium, meaning "central court" or "hall" of a Roman house. Its origin is uncertain, but it may be related to the Latin ater, meaning "black" or "dark," possibly referring to the sooty appearance of early Roman homes with central hearths.
