Police are currently on scene for the investigation of a suspicious death in the northeast community of Abbeydale, that took place in the early hours of Friday.

Approximately 1:20 a.m., the Calgary Police Service responded to reports of someone along the 300 block of Abergale Drive N.E. for reports of someone in medical distress.

The circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation, with more information to be shared upon the completion of his autopsy, which was expected later on Friday.

A neighbour in the area, Rusul Alsamawi, said she is shocked that an incident like this took place in her generally quiet community.

'It was like road rage, something like that, speeding, and we did hear some gunshots too, but it was very late (at) around 2 a.m.,' Alsamawi said.

Although they did not think much of the situation of the time, some blood that was found in the area prompted someone to call the police.

'The police came to us asking if we had any cameras, but we couldn't help them,' she said.

Officers responded to the scene at the intersection of 1st Avenue Northeast and Oxford Street East around 12 p.m. on Saturday, according to a news release from the Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS). The pedestrian was taken to hospital by EMS with serious injuries, police said. Police said the suspect fled east onto Oxford Street in what they believe was a red pickup truck and are asking the suspect to come forward. Anyone with information or video footage of the area from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. that would help police with their investigation are also asked to bring that to the MJPS or Crime Stoppers.

Prince Albert police are asking for the public's help after a Friday night hit and run left two people hospitalized with serious injuries. Police say around 10:13 p.m. local time, one of their officers saw a small, dark-coloured SUV hit two people in the 1400 block of 2nd Ave. West. The police officer drove to the scene, but the driver had already fled. The officer stayed to treat the victims, a 34-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man. Both were taken to Victoria Hospital and remain there in serious condition. Prince Albert police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 306-953-4222. Anonymous tips can also be sent to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Shots fired at house in Cape Breton: police

Police in Cape Breton are investigating after shots were fired at a house in New Waterford, N.S. Cape Breton Regional Police Service (CBRPS) said the Eighth Street homeowners called police around 4 a.m. Saturday, after hearing gunshots. The homeowners also discovered bullet holes in their house. No one was injured. After arriving on scene, police said officers spoke with the residents, conducted a neighbourhood canvas, and collected evidence from the scene. 'Based on preliminary investigation, police believe this was not a random incident and that persons involved could be known to each other,' said a CBRPS news release Saturday. No arrests have been made at this time. Police are asking anyone with video from the area or anyone with information to contact investigations at 902-563-5151 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
