Anthony Edwards on how the Lakers defended him in Game 2
It may not fully seem like it, but through two games of their first-round playoff series versus the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Los Angeles Lakers have done a pretty good job containing Anthony Edwards.
In Game 1, even though Minnesota won by a final score of 117-95, he shot just 8-of-22 from the field and scored 22 points. In the Lakers' Game 2 win on Tuesday, he was more efficient by going 10-of-22 overall, but he only managed to score 25 points, which was below his regular-season average of 27.6 points a game.

The Lakers' defense was noticeably more active and physical in Game 2, something that Edwards acknowledged afterward.
Edwards did have one big highlight early in the third quarter of Game 2 when he put on his cape, got in his personal elevator and dunked on L.A. starting center Jaxson Hayes. He will likely be energized by returning home for Game 3 and Game 4, and thus L.A.'s defense will need to be ready as the team tries to regain the home-court advantage it lost in Game 1.

Big Update in Minnesota Timberwolves, Kevin Durant Trade Rumors
Big Update in Minnesota Timberwolves, Kevin Durant Trade Rumors originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Phoenix Suns are in the midst of a critical offseason. After a 36-46 season, they missed out on a spot in the NBA Play-In Tournament, finishing as the No. 11 seed in the Western Conference. As a result, they fired head coach Mike Budenholzer. Advertisement That proved not to be the only change they would make, as the Suns announced they would be moving James Jones into a senior advisory role with Brian Gregory taking over. Gregory and owner Mat Ishbia's relationship goes back to Ishbia's playing days at Michigan State. Big update in Minnesota Timberwolves, Kevin Durant trade rumors It remains to be seen how soon the Suns will look to trade Durant. It will likely be in the next two weeks, as the NBA Draft takes place on Wednesday, June 25. If the deal were to involve any draft picks, they'd likely want it for the upcoming draft rather than a year out. Possible suitors for Durant have included the Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks. Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic provided a massive update regarding a possible trade with one of those teams. Advertisement "The Timberwolves have had 'discussions' about a Kevin Durant trade but 'nothing is close,'" said Krawczynski. Durant and Anthony Edwards have a friendship after the two participated in the Olympics for Team USA this past summer. Edwards views Durant as a sort of big brother and would likely love having Durant beside him as the Timberwolves aim to take the next step after falling to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals. It remains to be seen exactly what the Timberwolves would be willing to part with for Durant, but adding a player of Durant's caliber, even at this stage of his career, could be a move that puts them over the top and allows Phoenix to regain some future assets. Luka Doncic on the criticism that he is slow
Although Luka Doncic has been a phenomenal NBA player over the last several years, he has recently gotten a good deal of criticism. Much of it has centered around his subpar fitness and conditioning, as well as the fact that he is pudgy and has trouble staying in front of his man defensively. One reason for his defensive shortcomings is his lack of speed and quickness, which could be partly attributed to his lack of fitness. But overall, Doncic has never been a speed demon. Advertisement He was a guest on the latest episode of the "Mind the Game" podcast, which is co-hosted by LeBron James and Steve Nash. Nash brought up the Oklahoma City Thunder, who are heading to the NBA Finals thanks to a young, deep and athletic cast, and he asked Doncic about his speed, or lack thereof. The superstar gave an interesting response. "I have speed, I just don't show it," Doncic answered. There have been videos of Doncic from the 2018-19 season, when he was a rookie, posted on social media lately, and he displayed more speed and quickness back then. Since he has apparently already slimmed down this offseason, the hope appears to be that improving his fitness and conditioning heading into next season will make him quicker on both ends of the floor. Advertisement According to at least one report, Doncic has changed his mindset and actions as far as taking care of his body. Giannis Antetokounmpo Sends Clear Message on LeBron James
Giannis Antetokounmpo Sends Clear Message on LeBron James originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Giannis Antetokounmpo has said repeatedly that he considers LeBron James one of the greatest players of all time. The Milwaukee Bucks forward reiterated this to James' haters on Monday, after James called them out on the latest episode of "Mind the Game." Advertisement Haters of the Los Angeles Lakers star complained that 'LeBron has no bag,' to which James hilariously replied, 'LeBron has no bag, and I'm sitting here with 50 billion points.' Antetokounmpo took to X on Monday to further call out James' haters. He said, "If they're people out there that believe that one of the greatest players to ever be on earth has no bag… Man I've seen it all 💯🤦🏽♂️" James averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists last season as a 40-year-old. He was 13th on the 2024-25 NBA points leaderboard, which is no small feat. Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James.© Gary A. Vasquez-Imagn Images Antetokounmpo included James in his best five, which also included Steph Curry, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant. He is enjoying his time this offseason, paying little heed to trade rumors linking him to different clubs. Advertisement But the rumors have since started to die down, with insiders confirming that Antetokounmpo has no wish to leave Milwaukee. 'The common belief amongst league insiders that he will remain with the only franchise he's ever played for,' Jake Fischer revealed on Bleacher Report's NBA Insider Notebook. 'That confidence has been replaced with skepticism. To a man, from talking to agents, team executives, whoever, there is not a lot of belief right now at this juncture.' 'It's only June 5th — anything could happen — and I've been told all along that if there is a decision, a formal decision made to shut or open the door on trade conversations for Giannis this summer, that it would likely happen closer to the end of June and when the offseason really, really begins,' he added.
