The decision by Aamir Khan's production house comes at a time when the actor had been facing boycott calls ahead of his Sitaare Zameen Par release.
Aamir Khan's production house, Aamir Khan Productions, has changed its display picture of its social media handles. On Friday, netizens noticed that the production house, which had its official logo as its social media DP, now has a picture of the Indian National Flag as its display. It has been changed across all social media handles including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.
The decision by Aamir Khan's production house comes at a time when the actor had been facing boycott calls ahead of his Sitaare Zameen Par release. A section of netizens is urging everyone not to watch Aamir's upcoming movie. It is primarily because of two reasons – actor's belated support for Operation Sindoor and his old clip from Turkey that has resurfaced online.
Therefore, soon after Aamir Khan Productions changed the display picture of its Instagram handle, netizens shared a screenshot of it on Reddit and discussed if the decision was taken as a 'damage control".
'Lol he's being boycotted online so clearly did it as damage control," one of the users wrote. 'Bekar me damage control kar rahe hai, aisa karne se thore naa boycott karne waale inko chor denge. (It's not like people wanting to boycott will change their minds, why are they trying to damage control)," added another.
However, it should be noted that Aamir Khan was asked about the tension between India and Pakistan at a recent event and told ABP News, 'We need justice and assurance that it [terrorist attacks] won't happen again. We believe in our government, they'll take action against the anti-social elements who committed this and bring them to justice."
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par's trailer was released recently. The film will hit theatres on June 20, 2025.
