Param Sundari: Sidharth Malhotra Trained In Kalaripayattu, Underwent Prep To Shoot With Elephants
The trailer of Param Sundari, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, hints at a rom-com about a Delhi boy and a Kerala girl.
The trailer of Param Sundari has audiences talking — and for Sidharth Malhotra, playing Param was a test of grit and focus. To prepare, the actor trained in the ancient martial art of Kalaripayattu, learning complex moves that demanded significant physical preparation and discipline.
Adding to the challenge, Sidharth also filmed sequences with elephants — a rare experience that brought both excitement and unpredictability to the set. Working alongside the animals while performing action scenes required extra care and precision.
The trailer for Param Sundari is out, and it's a colourful rom-com about a Delhi boy, played by Sidharth Malhotra, and a Kerala girl, played by Janhvi Kapoor. They come from completely different worlds, and their culture clash leads to fun, drama, and plenty of romance as they meet, fall in love, and try to make it work.
Shot against the beautiful backdrop of Kerala, the trailer captures the intoxicating blend of monsoon-drenched roads, backwater bike rides, and the architectural beauty of centuries-old churches – including a heart-stopping sequence that echoes the timeless romance of our favourite onscreen couple SRK and Kajol.
Opening up on the film, Sidharth Malhotra said, 'With Param Sundari, I feel like I'm revisiting the kind of romance I grew up loving, but telling it in a way that feels fresh and relatable. Param has that Delhi boy charm, with a love story that makes you cross worlds. We wanted it to look as beautiful as it feels, and Kerala's magic really made that happen. I hope the audience feels the same warmth and joy we felt while making it."
The trailer offers a glimpse of the scale and authenticity behind Param Sundari. Directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films, the film releases in cinemas on August 29.
