Sonu Nigam shares his cherished memory of Janmashtami

Padma Shri awardee
Sonu Nigam
has shared the fondest memory of his son, Nevaan Nigam. The senior playback singer is set to perform live for a
Janmashtami
special and has shared that his son used to dress up as Lord Krishna when he was a toddler.
The singer will be seen performing with fellow playback singer
Shaan
for 'Janmashtami LIVE: The World Celebrates Krishna'.
Sharing his memories of Janmashtami, Sonu said, "Janmashtami has always been a pious and prayerful event in our house. I have fond memories of my childhood from both Mumbai and Delhi; each has its own distinct way of celebrating the occasion."
He further mentioned, "My son, now a big boy, loved dressing up as Krishna when he was a toddler.
My sisters wish me a happy birthday every year, for they playfully call me Krishna of our house. In fact, my father was born on Janmashtami, so we wish him a happy birthday too. This year, with JioHotstar bringing everyone together, it feels like those intimate moments are finding a bigger stage."
'Janmashtami LIVE: The World Celebrates Krishna' follows the success of 'Ram Navami LIVE' with Shri
Amitabh Bachchan
and 'Mahashivratri: The Divine Night' and will also see a performance from Dhridha Rajput.

Shaan said, "The personality of Lord Krishna has always fascinated me most among all deities. Every chapter of his life, from infancy to and the supreme Guru, from the mischievous to the masterful, he underplayed his power, unless compelled to, and yet never succumbed to adharma or 'the wrong path.' He was always a team player who led with wisdom and charm. As a kid, I was always so intrigued and excited about
Dahi Handi
but could never participate.
But once, years ago, I was part of a Janmashtami celebration. That day I realized that devotion can dance, and music can smile. Even today, when I sing for Krishna, it's that same boy, just on a bigger stage."
With 'Janmashtami LIVE: The World Celebrates Krishna,' for the first time, the audiences will also enjoy exclusive live feeds from revered Krishna temples across India and the world, including Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura, Shri Radharaman Temple in Vrindavan, Shree Dwarkadish Temple in Dwarka, Shree Jagannatha Temple in Puri, and ISKCON temples in Juhu, Mayapur, Vrindavan, Sydney, and Budapest.
'Janmashtami LIVE: The World Celebrates Krishna' is set to premiere on August 16, 2025.

'Aquaman' star Jason Momoa recalls how he almost drowned in Hawaii

Los Angeles, Aug 14 (IANS) Hollywood star Jason Momoa revealed that he almost drowned while out surfing in Hawaii back in 2007. Hollywood star Jason Momoa revealed that he almost drowned while out surfing in Hawaii back in 2007. The 'Aquaman' actor was navigating Pe'ahi, the biggest surf break in Maui, which is nicknamed Jaws, during a lengthy paddle through Hawaiian waters in 2007 when his leg rope snapped amid high wind, though he was "fine" at first, despite the waves crashing down on him, reports Battling the elements Talking about the incident on the Smartless podcast, he said: "I was doing this paddle, we went in at Jaws. We paddled like 13 miles down the coast. You're kind of almost a mile offshore, and then my leash snapped. We're about seven miles into it and my leash snapped, and it's so windy on Maui." The star said he was trained pretty well and so he was fine. "I took quite a few on the head. They're pretty big, like 10-foot Hawaiian waves. But I'm probably half a mile at that point offshore... There's all this water that pulls out of a channel there, (and) you just get hit with these waves." The 'Aquaman' star got "stuck" and his body began to "give up" on him while he waited to be rescued. He continued: "I was stuck in this crazy spot, which is probably the outer reef and unknown to me. I was really on the outer reef and they couldn't see me. I had my paddle and I was waving it and they couldn't see me, and the waves were so big. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Discover the Secret to a Lush Garden with These 15 Unbelievable Hacks! Then my toe hit the outer reef. I literally gave up, and I'm screaming inside." Friend to the rescue The 46-year-old actor was eventually found by one of his surfing friends, but the journey back to shore wasn't easy. He recalled: "I get back on the board and we start paddling. He's like, 'You got to go out,' so we just keep paddling out." Momoa continued: "I have seven more miles to paddle. My feet are covered in blood, and I'm just literally (with) my ancestors just paddling the rest of this way, head down, and we get out." Momoa eventually made it back to shore and instantly turned his back on his deadly smoking habit. He said: "I used to smoke two, three packs a day. I couldn't stop for my kids, I couldn't stop for my ex, I couldn't stop smoking. And the moment I came out, I never smoked again. Like, I just died. I tried and tried, but I couldn't do it again because I just gave up. Like, I gave up my life." "Get the latest news updates on Times of India, including reviews of the movie Coolie and War 2 ."

Day6 kicks off their 10th anniversary party with new 'The DECADE' album trailer

DAY6 10th Anniversary K-pop band Day6 has officially kicked off their 10th anniversary celebrations, marking a full decade since their debut in 2015. Known for blending heartfelt lyrics with impeccable musicality, the group launched their special anniversary project 'The DECADE of us' on August 4th. This project will lead up to the release of their much-awaited 4th full-length album, 'The DECADE', which has been teased as a love letter to their journey and fans alike. Album trailer full of symbolism and nostalgia On August 13th, JYP Entertainment dropped the two-minute trailer across the band's social platforms. It opens with a striking scene: an elderly conductor with white hair moves his baton slowly in silence, keeping time with a metronome. This is followed by a sudden shift in mood-band members are shown laughing like carefree children, surrounded by party guests in a lively, almost cinematic setting. The contrast captures both their innocence during the early days and the maturity they've gained over ten years. Many fans are already dissecting each frame, raising speculations about hidden Easter eggs that might connect to the band's past songs or iconic moments. First album in six years This new release is extra special because it marks the band's first regular full-length album in about five years and eleven months. Their last such album, 'The Book of Us: Entropy', came out in October 2019, receiving both domestic and global praise. Over the last few years, Day6 members have been involved in individual projects, military service, and songwriting, which only heightened fans' expectations. 'The DECADE' is expected to present a rich musical spectrum, reaffirming their reputation as a "trust-and-listen" band ( "믿듣데") -a title given by fans for consistently high-quality releases. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Eupatoria: Unsold Sofas Prices May Surprise You (Prices May Surprise You) Sofas | Search Ads Search Now Undo Celebration concerts To commemorate the milestone, Day6 will hold special concerts on August 30 and 31 at the Goyang Sports Complex. The official release for the album is set for September 5th at 6 PM KST, and excitement is already sky-high as pre-orders and ticket sales are showing strong numbers.
