Isha Koppikar recalls being humiliated by South choreographer in her debut film: 'These girls come from Bollywood, they don't know anything'
Before establishing herself in Bollywood with roles in films like Shah Rukh Khan's Don and Ram Gopal Varma's Company, Isha Koppikar faced a bruising start to her acting journey in the South film industry. In a recent interview, the actor opened up about being humiliated by a choreographer during her debut Telugu film W/o V. Vara Prasad (1997), where she had appeared in a song sequence. Sharing the incident, Isha told Digital Commentary, 'It happened in South. And it was just the beginning. I already had two films. So, it was before Bollywood. When I was on the set, there was a lot of dance. You know South dance. They're not easy.' The choreographer, she recalled, publicly shamed her on set in front of the entire unit, accusing her of being a clueless Bollywood import. 'He told me in front of everyone, 'These girls come from Bollywood. They don't know anything. I don't know why they take them... If you don't know dance, then why did you come here?'' 'I cried in my van... then I called Usha ji' Isha said she was devastated by the criticism. 'I felt very bad. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Most Beautiful Female Athletes Right Now Undo I felt humiliated. I went into my make-up van and I cried.' But instead of letting the moment defeat her, she turned it into a motivator. 'I took it as a challenge. I said next time when I come to the South, I will dance very well. I will not give anyone a chance to speak like this.' Remember 'Khallas' girl Isha Koppikar? Diva clicked at airport, asks paps 'Neend nahi aati?' Determined to improve, she reached out to Saroj Khan's assistant Usha ji. 'I told Usha ji, 'I want to learn dance. You come and teach me all the songs of Saroj ji.' She took out time and came to my house in Mahim and taught me daily.' Isha trained on classic Bollywood numbers like Taal Se Taal Mila and Mujhe Rang De, which she says covered all the major moves used in the industry. How Khallas changed the game Despite all the dance training, Isha notes that ironically, her breakthrough item number Khallas in Company didn't have too much choreography. 'If you look at it, there is not much dance in Khallas, but people felt that I know how to dance. Because I had gained confidence. A lot of confidence.' She credited Khallas director Ram Gopal Varma and choreographer Ganesh Acharya for giving her the confidence to shine. 'Ramu came to me and said, 'I have made this set for you. You should feel that this is your father's set. I want such an attitude.' So I said, 'Okay. If it is my father's, then I will bring the same attitude.' And then Khallas happened and magic happened.'

BTS J-Hope's Sister Jung Ji-woo Slams ‘Pregnancy' Rumours: ‘Getting Out Of Hand'
Ji-woo, who has been married since 2021, has previously shared that she and her husband are planning to start a family. BTS member J-Hope's sister, Jung Ji-woo, has taken a strong stand against invasive and inappropriate social media comments regarding her personal life. The influencer and entrepreneur recently called out a section of internet users for spreading baseless rumours about her pregnancy and questioning her choices, calling the situation 'out of hand." In a pointed message shared via Instagram Stories, Ji-woo highlighted one particularly offensive comment that read in Korean, 'Aren't you pregnant? Or you lost the baby? There is no bump and you are wearing tight clothes and doing exercise," accompanied by a sad emoji. Shocked by the unsolicited speculation, she responded, '…? Was about to reply, but the comment disappeared. We're trying for a baby, but there's nothing to share yet. Still, I'm honestly shocked that someone I don't even know could ask such a personal and inappropriate question about our private life. Even my close friends wouldn't go there." She continued to express her frustration at the baseless rumours swirling around her. 'When did I ever say 'I'm pregnant'? I've said nothing, but some people here are making up stories like they're confirmed facts. Now it's gone from 'she's pregnant' to 'she had a miscarriage' to 'she's out drinking'? Seriously?" Ji-woo added, 'I've been ignoring it because it's so far from the truth, but it's getting out of hand. Show some respect, please." Ji-woo, who has been married since 2021, has previously shared that she and her husband are planning to start a family. In a March 2025 chat with her younger brother J-Hope, she openly talked about wanting a baby, a moment that was met with warmth and excitement. J-Hope had said at the time, 'If it's a nephew, I anticipate having so much fun with him," and added that he'd spoil a niece with gifts. Brad Pitt's Mom Jane Dies At 84; Family Says 'We Were Not Ready For You To Go Yet'
Jane Pitt, a retired school counselor, raised Brad and his siblings - Doug and Julie - in Springfield, Missouri, alongside their father. Brad Pitt is grieving the loss of his beloved mother, Jane Pitt, who passed away at the age of 84. Jane, a retired school counselor, raised Brad and his siblings – Doug and Julie – in Springfield, Missouri, alongside their father, William Pitt, a former trucking company owner. Though the family kept a low profile, Jane occasionally stepped into the public eye to support her Oscar-winning son, attending red carpets including the 2012 Oscars and the 2014 premiere of Unbroken, directed by then-daughter-in-law Angelina Jolie. On Wednesday, August 6, Brad's niece Sydney — Doug's daughter — shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. Calling Jane 'the biggest heart," she wrote, 'My sweet Grammy, we were not ready for you to go yet but knowing you are finally free to sing, dance, and paint again makes it a tad easier." Sydney added, 'She could keep up with all 14 of us grandkids without missing a beat. There was no limit to the love she gave, and everyone who met her felt it. I don't know how we move forward without her." Jane Pitt was not only a dedicated mother and grandmother but also a passionate supporter of children's health. In 2009, Brad and his siblings donated $1 million to open the Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center in Missouri. The facility brought the region its first pediatric oncologist and hematologist, demonstrating the family's commitment to meaningful change. Even as recently as June 2025, Brad Pitt paid tribute to his mom during a press interview for his film F1. Speaking to Today show anchor Savannah Guthrie, he smiled and said, 'I gotta say hi to my mom because she watches you every morning. To Jane Pitt. Love you, Mom," before blowing a kiss on camera. Jane's deep impact on her children's lives was evident in a 2018 video for WorldServe International. 'I'm very proud of all my children," she said. 'They see a need and try to step in and fill it… It's an amazing thing." Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive.
