BTS J-Hope's Sister Jung Ji-woo Slams ‘Pregnancy' Rumours: ‘Getting Out Of Hand'

News18a day ago
Ji-woo, who has been married since 2021, has previously shared that she and her husband are planning to start a family.
BTS member J-Hope's sister, Jung Ji-woo, has taken a strong stand against invasive and inappropriate social media comments regarding her personal life. The influencer and entrepreneur recently called out a section of internet users for spreading baseless rumours about her pregnancy and questioning her choices, calling the situation 'out of hand."
In a pointed message shared via Instagram Stories, Ji-woo highlighted one particularly offensive comment that read in Korean, 'Aren't you pregnant? Or you lost the baby? There is no bump and you are wearing tight clothes and doing exercise," accompanied by a sad emoji.
Shocked by the unsolicited speculation, she responded, '…? Was about to reply, but the comment disappeared. We're trying for a baby, but there's nothing to share yet. Still, I'm honestly shocked that someone I don't even know could ask such a personal and inappropriate question about our private life. Even my close friends wouldn't go there."
She continued to express her frustration at the baseless rumours swirling around her. 'When did I ever say 'I'm pregnant'? I've said nothing, but some people here are making up stories like they're confirmed facts. Now it's gone from 'she's pregnant' to 'she had a miscarriage' to 'she's out drinking'? Seriously?"
Ji-woo added, 'I've been ignoring it because it's so far from the truth, but it's getting out of hand. Show some respect, please."
Ji-woo, who has been married since 2021, has previously shared that she and her husband are planning to start a family. In a March 2025 chat with her younger brother J-Hope, she openly talked about wanting a baby, a moment that was met with warmth and excitement. J-Hope had said at the time, 'If it's a nephew, I anticipate having so much fun with him," and added that he'd spoil a niece with gifts.

Materialists OTT Release: Where To Watch Pedro Pascal, Dakota Johnson And Chris Evans' Rom-Com

Starring Pedro Pascal, Dakota Johnson, and Chris Evans, the film explores modern love, the illusion of choice, and the price tag often attached to relationships. After creating a massive buzz with Past Lives, Oscar-nominated director Celine Song is back with her second feature film, Materialists — a romantic drama wrapped in wit, longing, and a tangled love triangle. Starring Pedro Pascal, Dakota Johnson, and Chris Evans, the film explores modern love, the illusion of choice, and the price tag often attached to relationships. Originally released in theatres on June 13, Materialists is now available to stream — but there's a twist. The film has dropped on Amazon Prime Video India for rent only, not free with subscription. The official handle confirmed the update, writing, 'Everything comes with a price, including love. #MaterialistsOnPrime, Rent Now." What's Materialists About? In this New York-set romantic comedy, Dakota Johnson plays Lucy, a sharp, stylish, and successful matchmaker who knows how to pair people perfectly — except when it comes to herself. Things get complicated when she attends a wedding of a couple she matched. There, she meets Harry (Pedro Pascal), the groom's wealthy brother who instantly falls for her. But fate has more in store — Lucy also unexpectedly runs into her ex-boyfriend John (Chris Evans), a struggling actor now working as a wedding waiter. Caught between two very different men — one with emotional history, the other with financial security — Lucy is forced to confront what she really wants from love. The film's tagline might as well be: Would you choose love… or money? Song based the screenplay on her own experience working as a real-life matchmaker in NYC during the 2010s. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, she said: 'I learned more about people and what's in their hearts than I have in any other period of my life." 'When asked about their ideal partner, clients often listed height, weight, net worth — all numbers." Box Office & Streaming Made on a $20 million budget, Materialists has grossed over $62 million globally. With strong performances, real-world commentary, and Celine Song's signature emotional depth, it's a modern love story with high stakes both romantic and existential. Isha Talwar Calls Out YRF's Shanoo Sharma Over ‘Weird Audition': ‘It Shattered My Confidence'

Last Updated: In a detailed comment, Isha recounted an audition scenario that left her shaken. She was asked to perform a crying scene in the middle of a crowded restaurant. Actress Isha Talwar, known for her acclaimed roles in Mirzapur, Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo, and Article 15, has spoken out against a bizarre and uncomfortable audition experience she had with YRF casting director Shanoo Sharma. Isha took to social media to share her story and offer advice to newcomers in the industry. In a detailed comment under a publication's post, Isha recounted an audition scenario that left her shaken. She was asked to perform a crying scene in the middle of a crowded restaurant, Mia Cucina in Versova, Mumbai, surrounded by real diners and waitstaff. 'I was told I should have no inhibitions as an actor and hence should be able to cry at a table with Shanoo and her assistants watching me," Isha wrote. Calling the experience 'confusing and weird," she added that it 'shattered [her] confidence as a young girl in films." Isha questioned the logic behind such an unprofessional setting, saying a casting director should either provide a proper space for auditions or pay for a controlled location. Ultimately, she refused to perform under those circumstances and, as she noted, did not get the role. But she has no regrets. 'At least I didn't give in to the weird ask and surely didn't cry at a restaurant for a role!" she wrote, ending her post with the hashtag #DignityFirstAlways. This revelation has sparked discussions about professionalism and boundaries within casting processes in Bollywood, especially for newcomers trying to find their footing. Meanwhile, Shanoo Sharma has been in the spotlight for launching Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in YRF's upcoming film Saiyaara. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Shanoo shared how she discovered Ahaan at the age of 19, calling him 'intriguing" and saying she knew right away they'd work together. 'He was 19 when we met, but he looked 15! I spotted a post of him online and reached out," she revealed. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
