Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development (KFED) announced its sponsorship to four small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) during its participation in the 31st edition of the Dubai International Boat Show, held at the Dubai Harbour and running until February 23.
The participating companies in exhibition are: 'Sea & Deep Frame Making,' renowned for its aquatic necklaces, and accessories and Raisin artwork creations, presently in its tenth year of participation. Other companies include the 'Al Qeersh Sea Games,' which organises water sports events such as: Kayak, water skiing, jet skiing, and windsurfing, as well as 'Hide', a manufacturer of waterproof marine bags and 'Hamar,' a venture which specialises in maritime style and accessories.
Mouza Al Nasri, Acting CEO of KFED, said: 'At KFED, we strive to uncover the immense potential of national entities that participate in the Dubai International Boat Show, a dynamic global event with a legacy of over three decades. This strategic approach highlights our commitment to drive entrepreneurship within the nation, by boosting the growth of the marine activities and industries related to the marine sector. KFED provides financial support, training and consulting services to entrepreneurs and owners, as well as business owners seeking to expand their operations. In 2024, the Fund successfully organised entrepreneurship training courses for 5,658 applicants and conducted group counselling sessions for 613 participants.
These initiatives reflect the Fund's long-standing efforts to offer comprehensive support and expert guidance to entrepreneurs, empowering them to transform their vision into inspiring success stories.

The strategy includes structural reforms, setting specific objectives, incentive-driven fiscal policies and open trade policies. It also focuses on encouraging the private sector and continuing digital transformation as fundamental pillars for development. Investors are encouraged by simplifying and streamlining investment-related procedures and approvals, facilitating licensing procedures through the launch of a unified platform that offers electronic licensing services, and reducing non-tax financial burdens on investors and companies, according to a statement by the presidential spokesperson. The meeting also addressed the progress of a project to construct an Unclean Dry Bulk terminal at Abu Qir Seaport in Alexandria, as part of efforts to transform Egypt into a global hub for transportation, logistics, and transit trade. A study was also reviewed on establishing a logistics terminal for receiving and handling raw iron and billets in Adabiya, Suez, as part of efforts to transform Egypt into a global hub for the iron and steel industry. The meeting also touched on the work of The Sovereign Fund of Egypt for Investment and Development, including the operational and legislative frameworks for maximizing the value of the Fund's affiliate companies, as well as efforts to list and monitor state-owned enterprises to ensure increased investment value and internal returns from these companies. President El-Sisi gave directives to continue efforts to maximize returns from state assets and generate added value for the Egyptian economy through their effective management by innovative strategies and partnerships with the private sector. The meeting also addressed increasing Egyptian exports, including the development of non-petroleum exports. The meeting reviewed the contribution of Egyptian exports to the Egyptian economy from 2003 to 2024, as well as export targets, which include access to new export sectors, efforts to increase the competitiveness and attractiveness of Egyptian products in global markets, and efforts to invest in export-supporting infrastructure. The meeting also addressed the launch of the National Economic Development Narrative and its various axes, which include policies supporting the private sector to be the main driver of achieving growth and employment, creating an economy that focuses on manufacturing and exports, achieving structural development for the Egyptian economy, implementing the necessary structural reforms to boost the economy, enhancing macroeconomic and financial stability, promoting foreign direct investment, and enhancing industrial development. The meeting with the President included Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk, and Minister of Investment and Hassan El-Khatib.

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – May 2025: Reaffirming its longstanding commitment to international cooperation and sustainable development, Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) joined the official UAE delegation on a high-level visit to the Republic of Lebanon, aimed at strengthening economic ties and advancing strategic partnerships. The UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, met with President Joseph Aoun in a working visit to the UAE in May, the two leaders discussed ways to expand cooperation in economic, investment, and government sectors. As part of this effort, the ADFD was tasked to send a delegation to Lebanon to assess potential joint projects, while the UAE's Knowledge Exchange Office was tasked with visiting Beirut to share best practices on government performance and institutional excellence. The three-day visit brought together senior UAE officials and Lebanese leadership to explore collaborative solutions that support Lebanon's economic recovery and future growth. The delegation met with His Excellency General Joseph Aoun, President of the Republic of Lebanon, where discussions centered around enhancing bilateral cooperation and supporting Lebanon's economic development efforts. Meetings were also held with H.E. Dr. Nawaf Salam, Prime Minister of Lebanon, and ministers from the Ministries of Finance, Energy and Water, Education, Health, Public Works, Telecommunications, and Interior. The delegation also engaged with several national institutions such as the Central Bank of Lebanon, the Higher Relief Council, and the Council for Development and Reconstruction. ADFD also visited the Banque de l'Habitat (Housing Bank) in Beirut to explore cooperation on offering concessional loans to support housing solutions and enable citizens to access affordable housing. Both parties agreed to continue coordination, including upcoming meetings in Abu Dhabi to discuss project implementation and follow-up on proposed initiatives. H.E. Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD, said:'The Fund's participation underscores the UAE's commitment to supporting friendly nations, continuing its leading role in fostering international cooperation. ADFD's partnership with Lebanon spans over five decades, during which we have helped implement strategic development projects across vital sectors such as infrastructure, education, energy, and healthcare.' He added: 'Our presence in Lebanon today reaffirms our deep commitment to supporting its government in tackling economic challenges and enhancing the quality of life for the Lebanese people. We aim to leverage our expertise and partnerships to help develop sustainable solutions that align with the country's aspirations for recovery and reconstruction.' During the Knowledge Exchange Forum, Lebanese Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam praised ADFD's instrumental role in supporting Lebanon's development journey since the 1970s, describing the Fund as a trusted partner throughout various stages of national progress and an enabler of tangible improvements across key sectors. Site visits to the Port of Beirut, Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport, Beirut Governmental Hospital, and various public service institutions further underscored the delegation's focus on identifying immediate priorities and potential areas of collaboration.
