At the funeral on Tuesday, celebrant Jo Moore said: 'Jo's talent as an actor was a gift that she shared with the world. On stage and on screen, she brought us joy, laughter, and inspiration, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of everyone she reached.
'She was a woman of many talents and facets, and I would like to share with you a description of Jo, given by Gill, one of her lifelong friends: 'Jo's life was a wonderful, elaborate, kaleidoscope with different sections for each of her passions and only Jo was at the centre and could see and enjoy the whole kaleidoscope.
'In many ways Jo was a contradiction – a flamboyant extrovert, a superb wit, a natural communicator and yet, at the same time, an introspective loner.
'We all thought we knew her so well but, in reality, we each only knew and loved one aspect of her.'

Emmerdale icon pays tribute to co-star after final exit
Emmerdale star Amy Walsh has paid tribute to her former co-star Jurell Carter, following his character Nate Robinson's funeral this week. The actress, 38, has played Tracy Shankley on the ITV soap for the last 11 years – and has seen a lot of comings and goings during that time. But there's one that will understandably hit harder than the rest – that of her on-screen husband. As viewers know, last year, Nate announced that he'd taken a job in Shetland and left the village. This was in September 2024, ut his exit left a lot of fans feeling there were some unanswered questions about the way he apparently just vanished. We subsequently learnt that John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) had killed him, and then disposed of his body in a lake. In an episode that featured flashback scenes, it was established that John lives with a hero complex. He orchestrates terrible situations and then steps in to fix them, looking like a great person in front of the Emmerdale residents. When it came to Nate, John attempted to help him after he was attacked by Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley). He gave Nate some medication but he reacted badly to it, leading to his death. His funeral took place this week, causing more upset for his grieving family, though Tracy seemed to make a breakthrough with Cain, hugging him at the graveside. They concluded that they were going to find who really killed Nate. Taking to Instagram, the actress reflected on her time working with Jurell and shared a number of behind the scenes photos. More Trending ''A big man with a big heart' – says it all,' she began. 'Can't believe this is the end for Nate and Tracy, properly this time. 'It was a pleasure to share the screen with you @jurellcarter. You're missed by us all. Gone but never forgotten.' View More » Jurell replied: 'Ahhh Amyyyy, you little softie. I miss you.' EastEnders star praises ‘fantastic' co-star who is ‘smashing' it
EastEnders star Alice Haig has heaped praise on her young co-star Max Murray. The actress, 40, took over the role of Vicki Fowler in March, with the character arriving alongside partner Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) and his son Joel Marshall (Murray). Returning to Walford to attend her uncle Martin's funeral, it soon became clear that the trio couldn't return to their home in Australia as a result of a few skeletons in their closet. Joel had upskirted a pupil in his class, and Ross had been forced to cough up $50k to her furious family. They subsequently demanded that they stay away from the country and remain in London. Unfortunately, the teen's behaviour has worsened since, from introducing his new mate Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) to pornography, recording himself sleeping with Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) with her knowledge and sexually assaulting a passenger on the Underground. Quite the troubled young man! Despite their fractured relationship on-screen, it seems that Alice and Max get along like a house on fire, given a sweet Instagram tribute post she uploaded yesterday. 'Always brilliant working with the class act that is @ she wrote, alongside a photo of them smiling outside of The Queen Vic pub. 'Not only is he a fantastic actor on screen but he's respectful, kind and incredibly hard working off it. 'Not easy doing this job at such a young age and he is smashing it! Making a pretend step-mum very proud!' Max commented: 'I'm beyond lucky to be working with you. Love ya.' Their co-star Kitty Castledine, who plays Penny Branning, added: 'Love you both!! Brilliant work as always.' Away from The Square, Max has a secret side-hustle as a singer in a band with his brother, known as The Murray Brotherz. Their first single, Dear Amy, was released on 23rd July last year. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? The latest gossip from Emmerdale? Produced by Tapster Studios, the song is a love letter to the late singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse and was released on the thirteenth anniversary of her untimely death. More Trending The opening bars are somewhat reminiscent of the musician's top 10 single Back to Black, which was released in 2007. The lyrics tell the story of someone putting on Amy's records and mourning such a momentous loss to the music industry, questioning her drug abuse and finding comfort in her songs. View More » Upon the release of his single, Max's mum – the former soap star and musical theatre actress Gina Murray – wrote on X: 'Delighted and proud to announce my boys' amazing original track, DEAR AMY, commemorating the anniversary of Amy Winehouse's passing.'
