While Ingle brings considerable international experience, the 141-capped midfielder has not played a game since rupturing her anterior cruciate ligament last September.
The Wales ace sustained the injury during Chelsea's pre-season friendly clash with Dutch side Feyenoord but has since worked her way back to fitness.
Her return to the international squad comes less than two weeks ahead of them competing in a Euros for the first time ever.
Head coach Wilkinson, 43, said: "Sophie made me look foolish on Wednesday, I should never jump into training anymore, it's not good for my ego!

"We needed to make sure that Sophie Ingle was in a good place.
"She's still on her path to full fitness but she's in a position now where she can contribute which is important for us."
"She has to be able to contribute in some way, that was the pre-requisite that I had.
"When she was able to meet that she was straight into the squad."

Wilkinson was speaking earlier today after naming her Euros squad ahead of Wales' major tournament debut next month.
Ingle, who has 141 caps, is one of four Wales centurions included in the group.
Playmaker Jess Fishlock, 38, Hayley Ladd, 31, and skipper Angharad James-Turner, 31, are the other three in a squad who will battle Holland , France and holders England in the group stage.
When asked what role she expects Ingle to play, Wilkinson added 'I don't want to get into that specifically because Sophie's pushing, she's looking really good in training.'

Cole Palmer reveals he HASN'T spoken to Chelsea team-mate Mykhailo Mudryk after taking his No 20 shirt with Ukrainian forward facing four-year drugs ban

Cole Palmer did not consult Mykhailo Mudryk before taking his No 10 shirt, though Chelsea 's playmaker does intend on speaking privately with the suspended Ukrainian when he senses the time is right. Having previously worn No 20, Palmer took on his new number ahead of the Club World Cup, with the news breaking on Wednesday how Mudryk now faces up to a four-year ban after being charged by the Football Association for failing a drugs test. Speaking in Philadelphia to the English press pack, Palmer said: 'I wore No 10 all my life growing up and I just like the number. (Lionel) Messi, the big one, (Wayne) Rooney and players like that – it's an iconic number. 'I have not spoken to Misha yet but I will when the time is right. It is not really my place to get involved with him at the minute. I will speak to him.' Palmer was wearing a face mask when he arrived in the United States, with some speculating as to whether he was ill or playing a practical joke for the cameras. Actually, it was neither, as he explained: 'It wasn't a joke. I just don't like the smelly planes. That's why I wear a mask. When I travel I don't like the smells so that's why I wear them. Nothing else. Enzo (Maresca) doesn't know, I didn't tell him, but he didn't ask me to be fair.' On possible fatigue after a long season, Palmer said: 'I will need a break because we've been playing for a year straight. But at the start of last season, everyone wanted to play the Champions League, so now we have it, no one's going to be tired.' Maresca has also reminded Palmer that he has a licence to thrill, with the England international saying: 'Obviously you can't take the p*** and do whatever you want, but I feel like he still gives you a little bit of room to try and see what I can do.' In Philadelphia, it is Palmer's face on the Club World Cup adverts plastered around the city. He is prone to being mobbed when in public, particularly in London, and said on his rapid rise to fame: 'At the start, it was a bit 'wow", but now I get used to it. 'I am just a normal kid so when people do stuff like that I think, 'Why me?' Obviously, it (the pressure) can sometimes get to everyone. But most of the time, I try and ignore it. I still do the same things now that I did before I came to Chelsea. I try to think it's just a game of football at the end of the day, it's not life or death. 'I just try and enjoy it. I like to go and play five-side and go to the Astro [turf] and do normal things.' Chelsea face Flamengo next at the Club World Cup and Palmer added: 'My uncle lives in Brazil and messaged me to say they are one of the biggest clubs in Brazil and that's all they are talking about, so I expect it will be a good game. He has lived in Brazil for over 10 years and he messaged me to say please score.' Estevao Willian is incoming at Chelsea and the 18-year-old Brazilian wonderkid from Palmeiras will compete with Palmer for minutes. 'He's a really good player, and I've spoken to him a few times,' Palmer said. 'He doesn't speak much English, so I think it was a case of Google Translate, but I've had a few conversations with him saying I'm looking forward to seeing him and playing with him.'

Enzo Maresca shares Chelsea transfer plan as Mykhailo Mudryk faces four-year ban

Mykhailo Mudryk missed the second half of last season and Chelsea are openly looking for a new winger, having already had two bids turned down for Borussia Dortmund's Jamie Gittens Enzo Maresca is already planning for life after Mykhailo Mudryk. Chelsea winger Mudryk is facing a four year ban after being charged by the Football Association for a doping offence after failing a drugs test last November. Mudryk - nicknamed Mischa - missed the second half of last season and Chelsea are openly looking for a new winger in the summer window. They have already had two bids turned down for Borussia Dortmund 's Jamie Gittens. Chelsea boss Maresca said: 'We had already one entire season already without Mischa. We are going to decide to go for a winger. ‌ 'In both cases, we have Noni Madueke and Pedro Neto as proper wingers, then we try to adapt with Tyrique George. It's a position we need to improve.' Ukraine star Mudryk has promised to clear his name while he also showed up announced in Wroclaw for the Conference League final. ‌ Maresca insisted that he would back his player until told differently as the drugs case now goes through process as the winger - who cost £89m in January 2023 - waits to hear his fate. Maresca said: 'I spoke with Mischa in Poland when we played the Conference League Final. We haven't spoken since. There is nothing I can add. I don't have more information. "Mischa is a Chelsea player. Until he is not, I will trust. It's not just about Mischa. It's in general with all the players.' But Maresca insisted that England winger Madueke was not for sale this summer despite links with him leaving Stamford Bridge and he was also dropped last season amid criticism over his poor levels in training. Chelsea also have Estevao Willian, 18, arriving at Stamford Bridge and is regarded as one of Brazil's best prospects. He is at the Club World Cup but with Palmeiras and has already won five senior caps. Maresca added: 'Noni is our player. In this moment, you can read many speculation [about players]. We consider Noni as our player for next season.' Meanwhile, Chelsea star Andrey Santos is expecting a hot reception against Flamengo - and he is ready for one of football's great rivalries. Santos, 21, was born in Rio de Janeiro, played for Vasco da Gama and likened their rivalry with Flamengo to Argentina and Brazil. Brazil midfielder Santos said: 'Of course, against Flamengo there's always extra motivation, especially because I was playing for a rival team. 'Flamengo and Vasco da Gama is like Argentina and Brazil. It's a big derby so we have to improve in this game, but I'm so happy to play against Flamengo again. I'm looking forward to it. 'It's hard because I played for Flamengo's rival, so of course when I'm on the pitch they're probably not going to say nice things about me! It's probably going to happen but it's football, it's normal for me. ‌ 'I know there are many people from Brazil here and the support of their fans is amazing, but we have to be constant and to do our work.' Santos was signed by Chelsea in 2023, was loaned back and then had a frustrating loan spell at Nottingham Forest before going to Strasbourg last year. That was a big learning year for the Brazil international and he hopes that experience can help elevate him into being a big player for Chelsea this season. He added: 'In the past two years, things feel so different. In two years a lot of things have happened. Now I have my son, I'm married now, my whole life has changed and I have more experience. ‌ 'Last season for me was amazing because it wa say first season in Europe, first season competing in Europe and I scored 11 goals, four assists and we went to the Conference League and, for me, it was amazing. 'It's good to be here with my teammates, of course I enjoy the time here. This time is important for me, I enjoy being with my friends and getting to know my teammates more. 'Expectations are the best here, that we can work well, end the week well so that we can arrive at the game well and leave with a positive result.'
