So far, Bane's trade was the most significant acquisition by the Magic following their elimination in the first round of the 2025 playoffs. Many believe that the 6-foot-5 shooting guard will elevate the Magic on both ends. One of the main concerns of Orlando was outside shooting.
Having Bane in the lineup solves their number one concern, giving the forward tandem of Banchero and Wagner a third option.

On Sunday, the Thunder came out victorious over the Pacers and won the NBA championship. Eagle-eyed fans witnessed that Bane attended the game and was filmed while OKC released the confetti, as fans started throwing the championship celebration.

Bane remained calm, observing the situation, while the fans around him were enjoying the moment.
The NBA Finals lasted seven games as the Pacers kept on putting up a fight. However, they suffered an unfortunate setback when Tyrese Haliburton went down with a torn right Achilles injury.
Bane is looking forward to playing for his new team. He'll serve as one of the more experienced players on the team. He's been in four playoff appearances and was one of the best performers for the Memphis team in the postseason.
In his four playoff appearances, he's averaged 16.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists on 39.6% shooting from deep. During the 2025 playoffs, Bane didn't have the best performance as he averaged 15.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists on 21.9% shooting from long range.

Which Wisconsin natives are in a position to be selected during the 2025 NBA draft?
The fast-approaching 2025 NBA draft carries a lot of intrigue for Wisconsin Badgers fans. Much of that intrigue surrounds the draft stock of star wing John Tonje. The All-American is fresh off a dominant 2024-25 season that included per-game averages of 19.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists, plus shooting rates of 46.5% from the field, 39% from 3 and 91% from the free-throw line. Although that top-end production should generate significant NBA interest, he's an older draft prospect at 24 and may have already reached his offensive ceiling. Tonje is a near guarantee to be selected during the draft's first two rounds. The questions are, how early, and by which team? Tonje's draft position aside, Wisconsin basketball fans aren't restricted to following the college level. High school basketball in the state has reached new heights over the past few years, with several notable in-state products excelling in the NBA. Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton's breakout run to the NBA Finals headlines that list. Another notable player is poised to join Haliburton and other Wisconsin natives during this week's draft. In addition, several others are projected as undrafted free agents. Here are those players, plus where they stand in CBSSports' latest top-100 player ranking: Which Wisconsin natives are in position to be selected during the 2025 NBA draft? Duke guard Kon Knueppel UCLA guard Kobe Johnson Memphis guard Tyrese Hunter Knueppel is the one Wisconsin native likely to hear his name called during the draft. He's a projected top-10 pick after a standout true freshman season at Duke. Both Johnson and Hunter are ranked about 30 spots too low to threaten the draft's 59 picks. Therefore, both will likely look for an NBA Summer League or G League opportunity to showcase their talents and earn a full-time roster spot. That trio of Wisconsin natives will look to join a group in the NBA that currently includes Patrick Baldwin Jr., Johnny Davis, Tyler Herro, Tyrese Haliburton, Sam Hauser, Jalen Johnson, Kevon Looney, Jordan Poole, and others. Don't be surprised if Knueppel is a household name sooner rather than later. Tyrese Haliburton posts message on social media after Achilles surgery
Tyrese Haliburton suffered a torn right Achilles tendon in the Indiana Pacers' NBA Finals Game 7 defeat against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday, June 22. On Monday, June 23, Haliburton had surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. After which, Haliburton took to social media to send a message to fans. "Man. Don't know how to explain it other than shock. Words cannot express the pain of this letdown," Haliburton wrote, while posting a photo of himself in a hospital recovery bed. "The frustration is unfathomable. I've worked my whole life to get to this moment and this is how it ends? Makes no sense." A post shared by Tyrese Haliburton (@tyresehaliburton) He later apologized to Pacers fans for the disappointing end to the season. "Indy, I'm sorry. If any fan base doesn't deserve this, it's y'all. But together we are going to fight like hell to get back to this very spot, and get over this hurdle. I don't doubt for a second that y'all have my back, and I hope you guys know that I have yours," Haliburton wrote. Haliburton is expected to miss significant playing time, with the injury putting his status for the 2025-26 season in jeopardy. When did Tyrese Haliburton get hurt in Game 7? A little more than seven minutes into the first quarter of Game 7, Haliburton sustained the Achilles injury. It was a non-contact injury, and after Haliburton fell to the court, his emotional reaction – Haliburton slapped the floor and appeared to shake his head and repeatedly shout "no" – hinting at its severity. He had scored nine points in the game prior to the injury. Haliburton had been dealing with a right calf strain that he sustained during Game 5. He had been listed as questionable heading into Games 6 and 7, but managed to start each. Contributing: Lorenzo Reyes The biggest stories, every morning.
