Who Is Rachel Brosnahan's Husband, Jason Ralph?

Cosmopolitan14-07-2025
Anyone else watch Superman over the weekend and immediately become obsessed with the cast, what they're like in real life, and more specifically/nosily, who they're dating? Same, so let's kick things off with Rachel Brosnahan who has been in an extremely low-key relationship for years. Here's what you (urgently, if we're being honest) need to know about her husband Jason Ralph.
Which you are WELL aware of if you're a fan of The Magicians, the best show ever (I will not be hearing opinions to the contrary).
On top of The Magicians, Jason has starred in Younger.
Jason starred as Mike Carr during season 5 and season 6, and he told Entertainment Tonight of working with Rachel, "She's just the best, and I just feel very lucky to have gotten to be kind of like a fly on the wall. Who gets to see the person that they're married to, and love, command a set like that, and be a leader? I felt very lucky to be there."
Florida-born Jason grew up in Texas, but went to college at SUNY Purchase, where he cofounded the theater company Strangemen & Co with his friends.
The pair first crossed paths while working on I'm Obsessed With You: But You've Got To Leave Me Alone. Town & Country wrote in 2022 that all the actors lived in a dorm together and that Rachel "was so committed to her role that she wouldn't date him until after filming" and she noted 'It was a hard no for me. Stay away, stay away. Okay, fine.'
Nothing was ever confirmed, but they showed up to the 2018 Emmy Awards with rings on their fingers so everyone put two and two together and assumed they'd gotten married that year.
However, Rachel told People (via Refinery29) at the SAG Awards in 2019 that "We've been married for years and been together for even longer. We had a good laugh when the news came out that we had just got married, like 'Happy six-month anniversary, honey!'"
As Rachel put it to People, 'I've been quite private about my personal life for a few reasons. The first being that it's just that…personal,' she said. 'Jason and I also noticed early on that, while we are both the leads of successful television series, he has almost never been asked about our relationship while I have been asked on almost every red carpet I have walked in the last 2 years. We both find this double standard problematic and frustrating and opted to redirect those conversations to our work.'
That said, she shouted out Jason in her Best Actress win speech, saying 'Jason, I love you. I wouldn't be here at all without you. Thank you.'
And Jason has said some sweet things about Rachel over the years—including to Entertainment Tonight in 2023 when he gushed "Being the lead of a show is like a really, really difficult job, and she does it with such grace and humility. And there she is and so beautiful."
In conclusion: LOVE THEM!

Actor Dean Cain, who played Superman in the '90s, reveals he joined ICE

Dean Cain was once the Man of Steel, but the TV superhero icon has a new title. Cain, who played Superman in the 1990s series "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman," revealed to fans that he enlisted as an officer in the federal agency U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to an Aug. 5 video shared to Cain's social media channels. "For those who don't know, I am a sworn law enforcement officer, as well as being a filmmaker, and I felt it was important to join with our first responders to help secure the safety of all Americans, not just talk about it," Cain, 59, said. "So, I joined up." USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Cain and ICE for comment. Cain also used the minute-and-a-half clip as an informal recruitment ad to tout the "great benefits" of working for ICE, which reportedly include a $50,000 signing bonus, student loan repayment, enhanced retirement benefits and special pay for individuals working in field operations and law enforcement roles. "So, if you want to help save America, ICE is arresting the worst of the worst and removing them from America's streets. I like that. I voted for that," Cain said. "They need your help. We need your help, to protect our homeland and our families." Cain's comments come amid increased scrutiny of ICE in recent months. In June, several demonstrations erupted in Los Angeles in response to a series of immigration raids carried out by the federal agency. The raids, which sparked nationwide protests, took place as part of a directive from President Donald Trump to find immigrants living in the United States without legal status. Several celebrities, including Jimmy Kimmel, Kim Kardashian, Cardi B and Mark Ruffalo, have spoken out against the ICE raids and the Trump administration's involvement. Cain portrayed DC Comics legend Clark Kent and his superhero alias, Superman, on "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" from 1993-1997. The ABC dramedy, which also starred Teri Hatcher and Lane Smith, earned five Primetime Emmy nominations during its four-year run. 'A little late now': Mark Ruffalo criticizes Joe Rogan for shock over Trump's ICE raids Dean Cain's ICE video sparks fan backlash Cain's announcement of his ICE employment did not sit well with some fans, who took to the comments section on Instagram to share their dismay over the actor's affiliation with the controversial agency. "Shame on you Dean — that's the most un-Superman thing you could possibly advocate," @supergirl_titans wrote. "You are such a massive disappointment and only bring shame to the red cape. I trusted you," @imaginairycloud commented. Stars speak out against ICE raids in LA: Jimmy Kimmel slams Trump, calls him 'arsonist with a hose' While @gomdiaz said "it's a free country," the user added: "I hope one (day) I'll understand how a person can watch the now standard footage of HOW they 'handle' human beings and not only not be sad and morally disgusted but also promote it." Despite the criticism, some fans came to Cain's defense. "Wow, you really are Superman - that is so cool!!!" @jmcmahon0278 wrote, while @anthonyhershko commented: "LEGEND!!!!!!!!!👏🫡" Meanwhile, user @jlenagha pointed out the irony of Cain's professional relationship with ICE, given the actor's Japanese heritage (Cain was born in Michigan, but his biological father is Japanese). "Immigrants that come to this country, whether they're undocumented or not, should be given due process," the user added. "Trump said he was going after gang members, criminals etc. That's not been the case. He's been going after regular people. This tarnishes my view of Dean. I'm shocked he's endorsing ICE." Kelly Clarkson Reveals That Ex Brandon Blackstock 'Has Been Ill,' Postpones Residency to 'Be Fully Present' for Their Kids

Clarkson and Blackstock split in June 2020 after seven years of marriage Kelly Clarkson is taking time away to focus on her family. On Wednesday, Aug. 6, the singer-songwriter revealed her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, is ill and that she'll be postponing her Las Vegas residency to spend time with their children, River, 10, and Remington, 8. "Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas," Clarkson wrote in an Instagram post. The statement continued: "While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them. I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding." A rep for Blackstock did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment. Clarkson was married to Blackstock for seven years before they split in June 2020. They welcomed two children during their marriage: daughter River Rose and son Remington Alexander. Clarkson filed for divorce from the music manager in 2020 and it was finalized two years later. In January 2024, Clarkson told PEOPLE the divorce was "extraordinarily hard." "You feel alone, and it's just a blessing to be able to have that outlet for those emotions that are overwhelming," she said, referencing her album Chemistry. Meanwhile, on March 27, Clarkson appeared on Kylie Kelce's Not Gonna Lie podcast and made rare comments about Blackstock, pointed out the double standards between working moms and working dads. "There's a lot that I keep in because ... co-parenting is fun," she quipped. "It's like, 'Oh, he couldn't come because this,' and I'm like, 'Okay, cool.' Do you think I just leave and just sit in the park all day?" Read the original article on People

Looking back at some of her biggest roles and the fanfare around them with Business Insider, the actress, 67, recalled working with Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci on the 1995 film Casino. "Joey really, really fought for me to be seen and get the job. So I have a serious loyalty to Joey because he's always backed me. It was always Joey and Jimmy Caan. They backed me since I was 19," she explained. With DeNiro, "I always wanted to work with Bob," but it had never panned out in previous projects. "I had auditioned with him many times before Casino. It was my dream to work with De Niro and hold my own," she admits. Stone plays the glamorous and self-involved Ginger McKenna in the film, directed by Martin Scorsese. The beautiful and mysterious woman catches the eye of DeNiro's Sam 'Ace' Rothstein. The role earned Stone a Best Actress Oscar nomination. "There's a scene in the movie where we're sitting across a table arguing, and he says to me, 'You're a good actress, you know that?' And I remember in that scene when he said it, how furious it made me because it was my dream to do it, and then he challenged me at the table." "I remember thinking, 'Oh, buddy. Not today, pal,' " she continued. "He knew every button to go for with me because he is the greatest observational actor. He can crawl under your skin and get in there." DeNiro and Scorsese looked back at the film on the occasion of its 30th anniversary in June at the Tribeca Film Festival. Of the film's take on a Las Vegas that's evolved so much in the decades since, Scorcese said, "Now you can take your family there and find yourself in the heart of capitalism — the kind that's replaced organized crime." "There used to be wiseguys in baggy suits. Now it's Ralph Lauren polos and corporate managers,' the famed director laughed. Read the original article on People
