Jurassic World Rebirth, directed by Gareth Edwards, opened to $312.5 million globally, surpassing projections.
Dinosaurs are back in business and roaring louder than ever. Jurassic World Rebirth, the latest chapter in the iconic franchise, has stomped its way to a gigantic $312.5 million global opening weekend, far exceeding its projected $260 million. Directed by Gareth Edwards, the film is already shaping up to be one of the biggest cinematic events of 2025.
According to Deadline, this is the second-highest global debut of the year, just behind A Minecraft Movie. Rebirth now also holds the title of second-largest opening in Jurassic history, trailing only behind 2015's Jurassic World which launched with $525 million.
Starring Jonathan Bailey, Scarlett Johansson, and Mahershala Ali, the film has been met with solid word-of-mouth and impressive turnout across international markets. Overseas alone, Rebirth pulled in $171.3 million, making it the year's second-biggest international debut after Ne Zha 2.
China emerged as the top-performing international territory, bringing in $33.7 million and commanding 50 per cent of the local market. The UK and Ireland followed with a strong $7.5 million total, doubling the performance of F1: The Movie. India added $1.3 million to the pot, placing it as the second-best MPA opening in the country this year, behind Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning.
Other regions also turned out in big numbers: South Korea hit $5.1 million after a $2.4 million Saturday, France opened at $1.8 million, and Mexico collected $6.5 million, including $2.2 million on Friday alone.
Markets like Thailand (with a whopping 76 per cent market share), Poland (42 per cent), and the UAE (40 per cent) also saw Rebirth dominate local screens. The film claimed the No. 1 spot in nearly every major territory including Australia, Spain, Germany, and Italy.
Interestingly, in Taiwan, the film has already outgrossed the entire lifetime box office of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
Thanks to Gareth Edwards' direction, dazzling visuals, and a revived sense of adventure, Jurassic World Rebirth is not just living up to its franchise legacy, it's charging ahead of it.

Metro In Dino Box Office Collection Day 3: Aditya Roy Kapur-Sara Ali Khan's Film Crosses Rs 15 Crore Mark

New Delhi: Metro In Dino, directed by Anurag Basu, premiered on the big screens on July 4. The film had a modest opening of Rs 3.5 crore on its first day. Now, the romantic drama has crossed the Rs 15-crore mark following a boost from its weekend collections. On Day 3 (July 6), Metro In Dino minted Rs 7.25 crore at the ticket window, as per a report by industry tracker Sacnilk. With this, the movie's total box office collection now stands at Rs 16.75 crore. Metro In Dino 'had an overall 39.75 percent Hindi occupancy' rate on its first Sunday, added the report. Breaking it down, the evening shows had the highest attendance at 57.14 percent, followed by the afternoon screenings at 46.62 percent. Meanwhile, the night shows recorded 39.27 percent and the morning slots stood at 15.98 percent. On July 6, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared a post on Instagram highlighting that Metro In Dino might face tough competition from two Hollywood releases — Jurassic World Rebirth and F1: The Movie. He wrote, ' Metro In Dino witnesses solid Saturday growth [68.15%]. All eyes are now on Sunday for a further spike in footfall and numbers. The Sunday business is crucial to make up for the initial shortfall and ensure a healthy weekend total.' Taran Adarsh added, ' Metro In Dino continues to perform best in urban centres, its core target audience. However, the response from mass circuits remains below par. Additionally, stiff competition from the Hollywood biggies – Jurassic World Rebirth and F1 The Movie – is impacting its potential in metros.' View this post on Instagram A post shared by Taran Adarsh (@taranadarsh) Metro In Dino consists of an ensemble cast featuring Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, and Ali Fazal. The film is a spiritual successor to Anurag Basu's Life in a… Metro, which premiered in 2007. Metro In Dino, produced under the banners of T-Series and Anurag Kashyap Films, explores complex themes of modern relationships, love and heartbreak.

Fact Check: Did BLACKPINK's Jennie behave ‘rudely' with staff at Goyang concert? Fans reveal truth behind shoe mishap clip

On June 5 and 6, BLACKPINK reunited in full force. They kicked off their highly anticipated DEADLINE world tour with back-to-back concerts at the Goyang Stadium. The venue was packed with fans from all walks of life, ranging from everyday supporters to celebrities. BLINKs had eagerly awaited the group's return to the stage. During the shows, BLACKPINK premiered their new track, Jump, electrifying the audience with its high energy and bold choreography. However, it was an unexpected moment involving Jennie that ended up stealing headlines. Jennie's on-stage shoe malfunction goes viral Despite the electrifying performances, one particular moment unexpectedly stole the spotlight: a shoe mishap involving Jennie during the performance of Forever Young. Midway through the number, Jennie appeared to experience difficulty with her footwear. It prompted her to signal crew members for help. The brief disruption was caught on camera. A clip showing Jennie animatedly communicating with the staff quickly made rounds online. In the video, she points toward her foot and appears to explain how the shoe should be fixed. Her actions seemed hurried, likely due to the pace of the concert and the need to jump back into choreography. However, the moment sparked a wave of polarizing responses. Netizens criticize Jennie for 'rude' behavior As the video spread, some netizens criticized Jennie's tone and gestures. They label her behavior as 'impolite' or 'entitled.' Several social media users interpreted her expressions and body language as dismissive toward the backstage crew. They even go as far as to use harsh language and personal insults in their commentary. The backlash grew rapidly, with some accusing the idol of being ungrateful despite the hard work of the staff behind the scenes. Fans defend Jennie However, many fans pushed back against the criticism. They argued that Jennie's urgency was misunderstood. Supporters pointed out that she was smiling during part of the interaction. Supporters also point out that her gestures seemed more focused on solving the problem quickly rather than scolding anyone. Others emphasized that performance issues like wardrobe or shoe malfunctions are common. They added that such problems need immediate attention to prevent injury or disrupt the group's coordination. With many more stops ahead on the DEADLINE tour, fans are hoping that future shows will focus more on the music, rather than viral controversies. Regardless of the online noise, BLACKPINK's Goyang concerts made one thing clear: the queens are back, and they're just getting started.

Jurassic World Rebirth box office collection day 3: Scarlett Johansson's film earns more than double of Metro… In Dino, collects $318M globally

Jurassic World Rebirth earned Rs 15.75 crore on Sunday, its third day at the Indian box office. In comparison, its earnings were more than double of those of the only Bollywood release this week — Anurag Basu's romantic anthology Metro… In Dino, which made Rs 7.25 crore at the domestic box office on its third day. As per Sacnilk, Jurassic World Rebirth has dominated the Indian box office this weekend with the same margin throughout. On its opening day on Friday, July 4, the Scarlett Johnsson-starrer earned Rs 9 crore, again more than the double of how much Metro… In Dino made on the same day, Rs 3.5 crore. This continued on Saturday, July 5, as well. While Metro… In Dino earned Rs 6 crore, Jurassic World Rebirth made more than its double at Rs 13.5 crore. The India earnings are across all four versions — the native English version reserves the lion's share, followed by the dubbed Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions respectively. Jurassic World Rebirth became the first Hollywood film to have a grand premiere for its Hindi dubbed version last Thursday at the iconic Raj Mandir cinema in Jaipur. Interestingly, the first instalment of this popular franchise — Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park (1993) — was one of the first Hollywood films to be dubbed in Hindi. Jurassic World Rebirth vs F1 box office The current Indian box office collection of Jurassic World Rebirth stands at Rs 38.25 crore, again more than the double of that of Metro… In Dino, which earned Rs 16.75 crore over the opening weekend. The Indian opening weekend collection of Jurassic World Rebirth is also higher than that of Joseph Kosinski's action thriller F1, starring Brad Pitt, which made Rs 21.40 crore last month. Jurassic World Rebirth worldwide box office Jurassic World Rebirth also ruled the Fourth of July holiday box office with a global, five-day launch of $318.3 million. The Universal Pictures release opened on Wednesday and earned $147.3 million in its first five days in 4,308 North American theatres. An estimated $91.5 million of that comes from the traditional 'three-day' weekend, which includes the Friday holiday, Saturday, and projected Sunday ticket sales. Internationally, it opened in 82 markets, including China, adding $171 million to the opening total. According to the studio, $41.5 million of that came from China alone, where it played on 65,000 screens, 760 of which were IMAX. It's the country's biggest MPA (Motion Picture Association) opening of the year. One of those options was Dolby Cinema, where it made nearly $8 million from only 167 screens in five days.
