Aguero's now fearless after being part of shock win over Devils

PETALING JAYA: Sergio Aguero feels unstoppable after going toe-to-toe with Manchester United.
The Harimau Malaya naturalised striker was captain of the Asean All-Stars squad that defeated English giants Manchester United 1-0 at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Wednesday.
But it wasn't just about the win for Aguero, who said he is oozing confidence after playing against the Red Devils.
'I feel like now I can play against everyone, I feel confident.
'It was one of my best experiences, mainly because of the team that we played against. They are a top club. The way they control the ball, the passes that they make are crazy. It was a historic moment for myself,' he said.
United played a match against the All-Stars as part of the post-season tour, which continues in Hong Kong, but left in disappointment after substitute Muang Muang Lwin of Myanmar scored the winning goal to lift the Maybank Challenge Cup.
Aguero, who plays for Pahang, added that simply being in the squad that took on the 20-time English top-flight league title winners was a proud moment in itself.
'It's a historic moment for us, not just for the win but just to have played the match. I was already very happy for that.
'Of course, the win was an added bonus. I started to feel confident with the ball and trusted myself during the match,' he said.
Aguero's performance also earned praise from United head coach Ruben Amorim, who spoke highly of him after the match.
'Aguero is a good player, he controlled the midfield quite well,' said Amorim.
The Argentine-born Aguero said he shared some words on the pitch with fellow countryman Alejandro Garnacho, along with Spanish-speaking Brazilian Casemiro.
'I spoke with Garnacho because he is from Argentina and plays for the national team. He's a great guy. I also shared some words with Casemiro because he speaks Spanish after playing in Spain for a long time.
'They were really tired, it has been a lot of travelling for them, having arrived here right after their final Premier League match,' he said.

During a tense shootout with Real Madrid in March, Argentine forward Alvarez slipped and the VAR spotted that his left foot touched the ball slightly before he kicked it with his right. Although Alvarez converted the penalty, the goal was chalked off and Atletico went on to lose the shootout and were eliminated from the Champions League. European soccer's governing body UEFA said the correct decision was made under the current laws but IFAB (International Football Association Board) has said that in such cases the penalty must be retaken. "(When) the penalty taker accidentally kicks the ball with both feet simultaneously or the ball touches their non-kicking foot or leg immediately after the kick: if the kick is successful, it is retaken," IFAB said in a circular. "If the kick is unsuccessful, an indirect free kick is awarded (unless the referee plays advantage when it clearly benefits the defending team). In the case of penalties (penalty shootout), the kick is recorded as missed." The decision to disallow Alvarez's penalty left Atletico boss Diego Simeone livid and the club's fans outraged. IFAB added that if the penalty taker deliberately kicks the ball with both feet or deliberately touches it a second time, an indirect free kick is awarded or, in the case of shootouts, it is recorded as missed. The new procedures are effective for competitions starting on or after July 1 but IFAB said it may be used in competitions that start this month. (AP pic) LONDON : Bruno Fernandes has reportedly rejected a huge offer to leave Manchester United for the Saudi Pro League, opting to be part of Ruben Amorim's rebuild at Old Trafford. Reports said Al Hilal were willing to pay United up to £100 million for the 30-year-old Portugal international but had not made an official approach. United endured their worst finish of the Premier League era, finishing 15th. They also lost the Europa League final to Tottenham. United captain Fernandes was one of the few players to emerge with credit from a disastrous season, scoring 19 goals and making 19 assists across all competitions. The midfielder addressed his future after United's defeat to Spurs in Bilbao last month. 'If the club thinks it's time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in or whatever, it is what it is and football sometimes is like this,' he said. But as speculation swirled over his future, manager Amorim last week expressed his belief that his compatriot would remain at Old Trafford. Former United captain Gary Neville, now a Sky Sports pundit, said the development was 'significant'. 'I think that there was an element of this situation that meant United getting that level of money, for someone of Bruno's age, obviously, you couldn't say that it would have been a bad deal,' he said.
