Something on the side? Nando's pokes fun at Astronomer CEO
While Nando's originated from South Africa, its Australian counterpart took a page out of its book with a cheeky advert.
In an Instagram post, the flame-grilled chicken restaurant ran a promotion that poked fun at Astronomer CEO, Andy Byron.
The ad read, 'Little something on the side? Enter Coldplay for a free regular side with any main.' View this post on Instagram

In a clip that broke the internet last week, Byron was caught canoodling with an employee, Kristin Cabot, during a Coldplay concert. Byron is a married man whose wife's name is Megan Kerrigan Byron.
Lead singer Chris Martin said of the awkward moment: 'Either they're having an affair or they're very shy.'
Meanwhile, Astronomer – the DataOps company Andy Byron worked for – has responded to the social media storm with a cheeky video of their own.
In the clip, an unexpected guest – Gwyneth Paltrow, the ex-wife of Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin – made an appearance. In it, she tackled several 'burning questions' about the company and the scandal.
Claiming that she had been 'hired on a temporary basis' in a PR post, Paltrow said: 'Astronomer has gotten a lot of questions over the last few days – and they wanted me to answer the most common ones.'
The Hollywood actress went on to indirectly answer a few spoof questions about what had happened.
'We'll now be returning to what we do best: delivering game-changing results for our customers,' she added.
The video comes after Andy Byron stepped down from his post as Astronomer CEO amid the backlash.

Businesswomen to baddies: Who has Paul Mashatile dated?
South Africa's Deputy President Paul Mashatile has earned a reputation for his multi-million rand mansions and his relationships with beautiful women. Since the passing of his first wife, the 64-year-old has been linked to several women. He is now married to his second wife, Humile Mashatile. In 2020, Paul Mashatile's first wife, Manzi Ellen, died from complications after contracting COVID-19. The couple had four children, Palesa, Thabiso, Tinyiko, and Ayanda. Manzi Ellen was a hairstylist who had her own salon. Since being widowed, Paul Mashatile has been romantically linked to other women, whom he allegedly pursued at the same time. According to Sunday World, Johannesburg woman Gugu Nkosi claimed that she embarked on an extramarital affair with Mashatile from 2014. She claims the now deputy president vowed to marry her after the ANC National Conference in 2022. That same year, Nkosi accused Mashatie's adviser, Keith Khosa, of assaulting her and damaging her vehicle after she arrived at the former's house announced. Nkosi claimed she had spotted Mashatile's now-wife, Humile, on the property. Paul Mashatile also reportedly had a fraught relationship with another ex-girlfriend, Norma Mbatha, a businesswoman and ANC stalwart. According to The Star, Mashatile and Mbatha dated for 'many years'; however, the timeframe has not been made public. Mbatha was reportedly served a protection order by Khosa, who claimed Mashatile's ex had been 'harassing' him on social media. In return, Mbatha filed for a protection order against Khosa. In 2023, Paul Mashatile married Humile, the widow of ANC Western Cape secretary Songezo Mjongile, who also died in 2020. It's unclear when the couple began dating. This week, media personality and actress Nomzamo Mbatha distanced herself from allegations she was romantically linked to Paul Mashatile. This, after an X user posted screenshots of Mbatha at Mashatile's R28 million Constantia mansion, which he recently declared ownership of. The entertainer responded to the post with her own receipts – literally – of her renting the property via an Airbnb website. Ok, I would like to credit and acknowledge @Airbnb 😭 – shuthi sorry. — Nomzamo Mbatha (@NomzamoMbatha) July 29, 2025 WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT PAUL MASHATILE'S RELATIONSHIP HISTORY? AI-generated influencers are here and they look real — are we falling for it?
She's got icy blue eyes, flawless skin and a fashion feed that would make any influencer jealous. But Mia Zelu, the Instagram star who recently 'attended' Wimbledon, isn't real. She's an AI-generated character with 169,000 followers and counting. Zelu sent social media into a spin after she shared courtside snaps at Wimbledon asking fans: 'Which Wimbledon match was your fave?' The post racked up more than 16,000 likes and 500 comments with many swooning over her 'natural beauty'. The catch? Mia Zelu is 100% artificial, designed to look human, act relatable, and rack up influence. The virtual influencer was introduced to the world in March 2025 by her 'sister' Ana Zelu, another AI-generated persona who has been active since early 2024. Ana captioned their first joint photo: '[Mia] finally decided to open up her Instagram, so show her some love!' Mia's debut solo post followed a day later with a cosy picture of her in a hoodie with a kitten on her lap and the caption: 'I believe coffee tastes better in cute cafés, and I live for cosy hoodies and deep conversations.'
