Diaspora celebrates culture at Lok Virsa

A high-level delegation of overseas Pakistanis, currently participating in the Overseas Pakistanis Convention organised in collaboration with the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), visited Lok Virsa on Sunday.
The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, made special arrangements to welcome the delegation. The guests were greeted with traditional drumbeats and vibrant regional folk music, creating a festive atmosphere.
Parliamentary Secretary for National Heritage and Culture, Farah Naz Akbar, officially welcomed the overseas delegates upon their arrival. Delegations from various parts of the worldincluding the United States, Europe, Gulf countries, and Africatoured the Lok Virsa Museum, Handicraft Bazaar, Craft Village, and cultural stalls showcasing Pakistan's rich heritage.
The visitors also enjoyed live folk performances, featuring traditional melodies, instruments, and dances from different regions of the country. The performances were met with enthusiastic applause.
Delegates visited provincial pavilions that represented the unique cultural identities of all federal units, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Lok Virsa officials briefed the guests on the diversity and vibrancy of Pakistan's cultural landscape.
Speaking to the media, Farah Naz Akbar shared that approximately one thousand overseas Pakistanis are participating in this year's convention. She praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for facilitating this platform, calling it a positive initiative to strengthen connections with Pakistanis living abroad.
She added that the convention would help formulate a comprehensive strategy to address the concerns and challenges faced by the overseas community.

He once again called on PTI and all political parties to come together for the country's betterment and agree on the Charter of Economy, just as the entire nation had shown unity and consensus between May 6 and May 10. He stressed that politics can wait — what's most important is fixing the economy, especially since 240 million Pakistanis are struggling with inflation and economic pressures. He appealed to opposition leaders to accept the Prime Minister's invitation and agree on the formation of a neutral Election Commission so that the next general elections are free and fair, leaving no room for objection. The adviser said that Pakistan has earned respect and recognition at the global level — countries that once distanced themselves are now compelled to listen. He warned that if political leaders continue to prioritise personal or group interests, it will go against national interest. He urged the public to put pressure on political parties to put the nation first. Commenting on PTI's protest movement, Rana Sanaullah said the movement is ineffective because the party lacks both preparation and public support. He further criticised Imran Khan, saying that if the former Prime Minister ties his release to the country's economic progress, it would be an injustice to the nation. Speaking on India's intentions, he responded to a question saying that the Modi government is following the RSS's extremist agenda and is hostile toward both Pakistan and Muslims. He added that while the military has fulfilled its duties, it is now the responsibility of the political leadership to unite for national development. He confirmed that these elections will be held on a party basis. Sanaullah also said that the Punjab government is working on welfare schemes such as the Kisan Card, Mazdoor Card, and Mazoor Card to improve the quality of life for ordinary citizens. He concluded by noting that major national projects, including Pakistan's nuclear tests, were completed during PML-N's tenure, and that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is now stepping forward with a new vision of public service.

Leading a multi-party Pakistani delegation to Washington, Bilawal urged American lawmakers to back Pakistan's 'mission of peace' and facilitate meaningful dialogue to prevent the escalation of hostilities between the nuclear-armed neighbours. She emphasised that Pakistan's military response was "legal and limited" but warned of the catastrophic consequences any misunderstanding between the two nuclear powers could trigger. "A nuclear conflict in a densely populated and sensitive region like South Asia would be uncontrollable," she cautioned. Sherry also expressed gratitude for the US's intervention, which helped broker the ceasefire, but warned, "If there is no purposeful and principled negotiation process, this trailer could soon turn into a global tragedy." She further stressed that a solution to the Kashmir issue requires a "serious and multilateral negotiation framework," noting India's reluctance to engage in such talks and its refusal of third-party mediation, which she deemed essential for any meaningful process. RAW funding ‘Fitna-e-Hindustan' to destabilise Pakistan: CM Balochistan
Listen to article Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has stated that India's intelligence agency, Reasearch and Analysis Wing (RAW), is sponsoring the terrorist group 'Fitna-e-Hindustan' to destabilise Pakistan. Addressing a key press conference in the provincial capital alongside Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Zahoor Ahmed Buledi and Chief Secretary Balochistan, the Chief Minister said that India's intelligence agency RAW is actively supporting terrorist groups to destabilise peace in Pakistan, especially in Balochistan. He added that the group was 'purely terrorist' and has no connection to the Baloch people or the province of Balochistan. During the press conference, misleading reports by Indian media were also shown, including false claims about Karachi Port amid recent tensions between Pakistan and India. Audio recordings of Fitna-tul-Hindustan operatives Shanbay and Rehman Gul were also played for journalists, in which they could be heard exchanging information with their RAW handlers. 'These terrorists are not representatives of the Baloch people; they are merely tools of RAW.' 'India cannot tolerate Pakistan's growing economy and aims to harm us through proxy warfare,' he said. The CM dismissed reports of enforced disappearances as propaganda, citing higher numbers of voluntary disappearances recorded by the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). He stressed that the Baloch nation has its own proud traditions and does not endorse such cowardly acts. 'They are not killing Punjabis—they are killing Pakistanis,' he added. He stated there is no need for a major military operation in Balochistan, as the state's policy relies on political dialogue and effective strategy. 'Political negotiations are ongoing, but those who raise arms against the state will face action.' The Chief Minister concluded by saying that the state will thwart every attack by Fitna-tul-Hindustan and will not allow any conspiracy against Pakistan's peace and development to succeed.
