Vice Ganda backs Abalos for Senate: ‘Kesa naman yung mga walang kwenta ang pumasok sa top 12'
Comedian and TV host Vice Ganda has openly expressed support for former Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Atty. Benhur Abalos in his bid for the Senate in the 2025 midterm elections.
The endorsement was made through a short video posted on social media, where the text read: 'Kesa naman yung mga walang kwenta ang pumasok sa Top 12. Dito na 'ko! #1 Abalos, Benhur.'
Known for her sharp commentary and massive following, Vice Ganda have long emphasized the importance of electing public officials who have a clear track record and genuine concern for the Filipino people.
In several statements, Atty. Abalos has laid out his legislative priorities, which include fast-tracking digital government services for OFWs, implementing affordable housing programs, providing stronger support for farmers, and removing the value-added tax (VAT) on electricity to help lower household bills.
Vice Ganda has long been vocal about her political views, having supported Leni Robredo in the 2022 presidential elections.
Robredo, for her part, has also expressed support for Atty. Abalos' Senate run, citing his consistent assistance to her hometown, Naga City.

Olalia emphasized that the celebration is not only a reflection on the past three decades but also a strong affirmation of the agency's continued promise to serve OFWs more efficiently and compassionately. 'This occasion is both a look back on 30 years of service and a renewed commitment to deliver faster, more heartfelt service to every OFW,' Olalia said. The weeklong celebration, leading up to Migrant Workers Day, features a wide array of activities meant to honor OFWs, recognized as modern-day heroes for their critical contributions to the development of both the Philippines and their host countries. Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) Secretary Dante 'Klink' Ang II, the event's guest of honor, highlighted the importance of a collaborative approach in serving overseas Filipinos. He referenced key government efforts such as the Interagency Council Against Trafficking and the Interagency Council on the Rights of Overseas Filipinos as vital to improving safety and services for Filipinos abroad. Ang also acknowledged the bravery of OFWs and introduced Philippine Schools Overseas (PSOs), which serve Filipino communities abroad by promoting diaspora engagement and empowering migrants and their families. The celebration began with the launch of a photo exhibit showcasing 30 years of labor migration milestones, alongside events such as the National Reintegration Network Serbisyo Fair and the Balikbayan Bazaar. Health services, wellness programs, and entertainment activities will be held at the DMW Central Office in Mandaluyong and at all regional and overseas offices throughout the week. Migrant Workers Day, celebrated every June 7 under Republic Act No. 8042, honors the enduring sacrifices and achievements of OFWs. The DMW encourages all OFWs and their families to participate and benefit from the free services and events happening from June 2 to 7.

Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, attended a major celebration marking the 127th anniversary of Philippine independence 'Kalayaan 2025.' The event, hosted at Dubai World Trade Centre and organised by the 'Emirates Loves Philippines' platform in collaboration with Dubai Police, brought together over 40,000 members of the Filipino community in the UAE, along with government officials, diplomats, and social and economic figures from the community. In his opening speech, Sheikh Nahyan congratulated the Filipino community on this important national day, and said: 'I am delighted to be with you this evening to celebrate the 127th Anniversary of Philippine Independence.' 'On behalf of the people of the United Arab Emirates, I extend our heartfelt congratulations and warmest greetings to the people of the Philippines here and around the world. This day marks not only your independence, but your enduring spirit of resilience, community, and optimism. It is a day of pride, and one you have every reason to celebrate,' the Minister said. He added that the UAE is pleased to call the Philippines a close friend and valued partner. Across this nation, and across the decades, hundreds of thousands of Filipino people have made their mark.
