Former Notre Dame wide receiver finds new home in the ACC
It seems like Notre Dame and Virginia made a transfer trade this cycle, each of the teams receiving a wide receiver in return.
The Irish already got their part over a month ago, as Malachi Fields committed towards the end of December. The player-to-be-named later happened to be Jayden Thomas, who entered the portal just a few days after the season concluded.
Thomas, a Georgia native, had a decent career with the Irish, who had 64 catches for 838 yards and 7 touchdowns, with a few carries mixed in as well.
The 'trade' between both teams looks like it fits each other's needs, but if you had to pick a winner, it would be Notre Dame. Fields had almost as many yards last year as Thomas had in his whole career, and just two touchdowns short of that number as well.
Regardless of production, we wish Thomas the best as he looks to finish him eligibility with the Cavaliers.

Washington is a three-star prospect with an 87 recruiting rating on 247Sports. He ranks as the No. 111 wide receiver in the class and No. 883 overall prospect in the country. He is considered one of the top priorities at wide receiver for the Spartans in the 2026 class. Michigan State hosted Washington for an official visit last weekend, which came one week after he visited Wisconsin. He will reportedly take an official visit to West Virginia this weekend as well. There is no known commitment date for Washington at this time, but it sounds like these are the three teams he is focused on within his recruiting. So with all three official visits completed after this weekend, we could certainly see a college announcement coming in the next few weeks. Michigan State has been hot on the recruiting trail lately with eight commits since the start of June. The Spartans have seen their class move up the charts thanks to this latest flurry with Michigan State now ranking No. 34 nationally at the posting of this article. The addition of Washington to this class would only further this surge from the Spartans on the recruiting trail. Notre Dame DE Jordan Botelho has suffered a pec injury that will keep him out 4 months It hasn't been a great calendar year for Notre Dame football defensive end Jordan Botelho, and unfortunately the injury bug has hit him once again as reported by Matt Freeman. Last fall against Purdue, the senior injured his right knee, and he was lost for the remainder of the season. While Botelho announced that he had unfinished business in South Bend and prepared for his return, but another bump in the road happened recently. The report says that he has injured his pectoral muscle and will be out for at least four months. It's a big blow for Botelho and the Irish defensive line, as they lost more than a few talented players at the position. However, the cupboard isn't bare, as Notre Dame has multiple players who could breakout this fall including Boubacar Traore, Loghan Thomas, and Bryce Young. Botelho's injury will allow some of the younger players to get valuable reps as the Irish look for the best combination to attack opposing offenses.
