India.com24-07-2025
Ahmedabad is the largest city in Gujarat and it is a mix of culture, history and modernity. The Old City is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which is certainly worth a visit for those with an interest in history, art, different cuisines and architecture alike. But when is the ideal time to visit Ahmedabad? Depending on the season, there are a variety of unique options to choose from. Let's go over all four seasons in Ahmedabad to narrow down when and why would be the perfect time to visit.
Winter (November to February): The Prime Tourist Season
February to November are the most famous months to visit Ahmedabad. The city can be enjoyed from a range of 12 to 25 degrees celsius. This makes it ideal for outdoor activities such as sightseeing. Some of the historical places you can visit are Adalaj Stepwell, Jama Masjid, and Sabarmati Ashram. All three are must see places in Ahmedabad.
A major highlight in January is the International Kite Festival. The sky is completely filled with multi-colored kites that come in every possible shape and size. They are an incredible experience that captures the festive spirit of the city.
Undoubtedly kite enthusiasts love this time alongside food lovers as well. Sweeping servings of gajar ka halwa to piping hot undhiyu, Ahmedabad has an incredible range of cuisine that comes out in winter.
Why Visit in Winter?
All sightseeing places bloom during winter and come out in full glory.
The International Kite Festival and other similar Kite Festival celebrate the unique kite flying culture of Gujarat India along with the Bhuj Festival which celebrates the magnificent firework displays during Diwali.
Ahmedabad's midsummer foods can be best experienced during the winter months in Gujarat, especially during Shakarai Chaulmoogra.
In Ahmedabad, During March and June: For the Temp-Fearing
This region is ideally hotter than other parts of India with mercury soaring upto 45°C during summers. It is not the most hospitable nor the tourist friendly season. But there are some benefits for the heat tolerant folks.
Crowd control is much better during this period. So measured with the lesser the number of tourists, the better the tranquil and peaceful experience at renowned spots such as the Sarkhej Roza, Kankaria Lake, and the Calico Museum Of Textiles. In addition, August has plenty of vacancies for hotel rooms and flight tickets.
Explorers of ahmedabad during the summer months should consider staying indoors and only step out for activities during the mornings and evenings. Keeping hydrated is key, especially paired with tea and sherbates based around lemon.
What is the Purpose of Summer Visit?
Low levels of Tourist, which makes it easy to sight see and visit the many restaurants and parks that Ahmedabad has to offer.
Lower prices for hotels and other accommodations.
Perfect for assiduous travelers eager to see what is not thronged in the other half of the year.
Monsoon (July to October): A Season of Rejuvenation
The Monsoon season floods Ahmedabad with vivid colors while offering a cozy retreat from the hot months prior. The moderate rainfall during this season cools the temperatures down to a comfortable 25°C to 35°C, which is perfect for exploring this beautiful city.
Ahmedabad's lakes and gardens start changing into unusually spectacular tourist sites during the monsoons. Vastrapur Lake and Kankaria Lake, as well as many majestic historical places like the Dada Harir Stepwell, start looking breathtaking when showered with rain.
Additionally, cultural exhibitions and events are bound to occur in the city which also adds to the excitement around the monsoon season. One of the most notable events is Rath Yatra where numerous devotees gather to pull the chariot in the city of Ahmedabad in July.
What Makes Monsoons Special?
The city becomes greener and more appealing.
The combination of rain and the landmarks is magical.
Celebration of cultural festivals like the Rath Yatra.
When is the Best Time to Visit?
Undoubtedly, every season has its benefits, but during winters, the city shines brightest. The extravagant yet warm festive spirit accompanied with the delicious food makes visiting Ahmedabad in the winter the most enjoyable.
Still, if your intent is to travel on a budget or want a serene vacation, summer and monsoon has its own advantages as long as you plan well in advance.
Best season over-all: Winter (November to February).
Best season for budget travel: Summer (March to June).
Best season for nature lovers: Monsoon (July to October).
Final Thoughts
Ahmedabad is the city which is bound to offer you a reward at every corner regardless of the time you decide to visit. The most loved season is definitely winter but as summers and monsoons approach, the city does not lose its charm for those willing to be flexible with the weather. It doesn't matter whether you fall in love with the glorious history, the cultural diversity, or the mouth watering food, Ahmedabad will never disappoint you and guarantee some amazing memories.
Make your travel Ahmedabad specific plans based on your likings and travel habits, and embrace the magic of the city in the season of your choosing.

‘Footfall at Mirzapur's Maa Vindhyavasini Temple may cross 1cr mark in 2025'

1 2 Lucknow: Footfall at Mirzapur's famed Maa Vindhyavasini Temple is likely to cross the 1 crore mark in 2025, shows data from the department of tourism. Data shows that over 64 lakh pilgrims have visited the temple in the first six months of 2025, speaking for a monthly average of over 10 lakh. This is significantly higher than the average monthly footfall of 6.5 lakh recorded in 2024, with the total being 78 lakh. "Though counting is still underway, numbers are expected to touch 10 lakh in July too. And if this trend continues, the footfall may cross 1 crore in 2025," said Jaiveer Singh, tourism minister. Officials said with the temple at the core, other places in Mirzapur are also benefitting from the surge. Take the example of the Ashta Bhuja Temple, which forms an important part of the Vindhyavasini Tribhuja pilgrimage. More than 38 lakh pilgrims who visited Vindhyavasini also visited the Ashta Bhuja Temple. In 2024, the total number of pilgrims recorded at this site was 55 lakh. Indications are that the neighbouring districts like Sonbhadra and Chandauli are also on the list of beneficiaries. "In Sonbhadra, the footfall in Shiv Dwar, which was previously largely popular with kanwariyas, has seen an unprecedented hike in the number of visitors," said a senior officer, adding that the numbers would be disclosed after the Hindu month of Shrawan concludes. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Even Beautiful Women Have Their 'Oops' Moments Read More Undo Sitamarhi in Bhadoi is yet another example. Principal secretary, tourism and culture, Mukesh Meshram said: "Gone are the days when Mirzapur recorded seasonal tourism surge because the beauty of the rain-fed waterfalls peaked at that time. It is heartening to see people and pilgrims visiting the place all through the year." Director Eco Tourism, Uttar Pradesh Prakhar Mishra, said the surge was a result of concerted efforts made over the past few years. "While on one hand the good sites were flagged and projected, efforts are made to train key stakeholders to promote them in an organised way. The local community was also engaged, and local art and cuisine were integrated to ensure that tourism development was inclusive and employment-generating. As a result, the region is now full of options in village and farm tourism. Mirzapur and adjoining areas also offer options to adventure seekers," he said. Mishra noted that with the inclusion of Salkhan Fossil Park in Unesco's tentative list of world heritage sites will further bolster the efforts and footfall.

Uber India has significantly widened the reach of its Intercity service, now covering over 3,000 routes that connect cities across India, a jump of roughly 50 percent compared to its previous network. This expansion comes as outstation road travel continues to gain popularity, supported by India's rapidly improving highway infrastructure. MG M9 first drive review: More than just a fancy box on wheels? To complement this growth, the company is rolling out a special, time-limited Motorhome experience in the Delhi-NCR region . Available for rides from August 7 to September 6, with bookings starting August 4 via the Uber app, these Motorhomes will have a dedicated icon for easier access. Designed for 4–5 passengers, each vehicle comes equipped with comfort-focused amenities including a television, mini-fridge, microwave, and onboard lavatories . A driver and an assistant will accompany the trip, aiming to provide passengers with a relaxed and convenient long-distance travel experience. Standard Intercity features like advance booking through Uber Reserve, live tracking, mid-trip stop additions, and 24x7 support remain part of the package. Uber reports that its Intercity segment has enjoyed consistent year-on-year growth, fueled by both leisure and essential travel. Over the last year, popular city pairs have included Mumbai–Pune, Delhi–Agra, Bengaluru–Mysore, Lucknow–Kanpur, and Ahmedabad–Vadodara. Travel demand typically spikes during long weekends, festive seasons such as Diwali, Holi, Eid, and India's peak wedding months. Fridays emerge as the most common travel day, with early mornings and the 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. window seeing the highest departures when traffic is lighter. While round trips are frequently booked for vacations, religious visits, and events, one-way rides are largely tied to business travel, family visits, and airport or railway station transfers. This Motorhome project is being positioned as a pilot program, allowing Uber to gauge customer interest in premium long-distance travel solutions while introducing a new layer of comfort to intercity mobility. Speaking about the stellar growth of Uber Intercity, Shweta Mantri, Head of Rider Verticals, Uber India and South Asia said, 'More and more people are choosing to hit the road for quick getaways, family visits, or even business meetings, and they want travel that's easy, reliable, and comfortable. That's exactly what Uber Intercity offers, and with the expansion of routes we're doubling down on transforming outstation road travel for millions.'
