A holidaymaker heard shouts of 'I've done him' after a man was allegedly hit over the head with a concrete slab on the Isle of Sheppey.
Emergency services raced to the Warden Bay Road area in Leysdown-on-Sea shortly after 7pm on Sunday after reports that 'an altercation broke out involving a small group of people'.
A man in his 40s was confirmed dead at the scene. A girl, aged 16, and two boys, 14 and 15, have been arrested and remain in police custody.
A group of holidaymakers allege that the man was hit in the head with a large concrete slab before a local tried to save his life.
Andrew Owen said he heard shouts of 'I've done him' moments after the incident.
A man was then seen lying on the ground, before the local shouted back 'you haven't just done him, you've f****** killed him', Mr Owen added.
Nearby residents allege that the man was hit in the head with a big concrete slab.
One father-of-three, who asked not to be named, said he had seen the victim being chased along the sea path by a youth.
He said the victim's face had been injured and that rocks were lying close to his body. A woman giving him CPR told him she had seen the yob kick him in the face.

The eyewitness told the Daily Mail how he was alerted to a commotion on the coastal path behind his caravan.
He had seen one youth doubled over in pain with blood dripping from a wound above his right eye.
Further along the path, the man in his 40s was being chased by another teenage boy and two young girls.
He initially thought they had mugged the youth with the eye injury, until he walked further on and found the older man slumped on the floor with two people giving him CPR.
The holidaymaker said: 'My wife had seen a commotion by the sea wall and called for me to have a look.
'I could see one young lad wearing an orange T-shirt standing with his hand clasped to his head bleeding.
'Further along the path an older man and younger lad were running away. They were followed by two young girls.

'Initially I thought they'd mugged the lad with the orange T-shirt. I approached him and couldn't get a lot out of him. He was moaning in pain and had a cut just above his right eye.
'But a short while later the kid returned with the girls and it looked like that they were friends with the lad in the orange shirt.'
The eyewitness said one of the girls looked to be 15 or 16, while the other was a lot younger - seemingly around 12.
He added: 'As I walked further down the path, I could see the man lying on the floor with people standing around him. There was a woman trying to give him CPR.
'There were rocks lying around him, I don't know if he'd been hit with any of them but the injuries were all to his face.
'I checked his body and there was no blood so he hadn't been stabbed or any thing like that. The lady who was trying to give CPR - along with another man - said she'd seen a youth kick the victim in the head.
'It was obvious to me he was dead and that nobody was going to bring him back. My 11-year-old son was with me, I tried to shield him as best I could and told him to cycle back to the caravan right away.

'Eventually I found them by a fish and chip shop. I shouted to them 'you've just killed a man. You haven't just done him…you've f***ing killed him.
'But no sooner had I said that, two police officers emerged from behind me.'
Kent Police officers erected a white tent in an area next to a caravan park, just meters from Warden Bay Beach, while a nearby footpath was also cordoned off.
A police sniffer dog and forensic teams have also been deployed at the scene behind the popular tourist destination.
The eyewitness said: 'It's shaken me up but my real concern is for my son. He shouldn't have to see that at his age. We only arrived on Friday for two weeks holiday.
'I don't know anything about the man who died. He looked to be aged in his early 40s and was wearing a gold chain around his neck.
'Someone told me that he was staying nearby with his wife and young daughter and that they had seen him being worked on by the paramedics.
'It's awful, this country seems to be getting worse and worse. It's worrying.'

Three teenagers remain in custody over murder at seaside resort

Three teenagers arrested on suspicion of murdering a man in his 40s in a seaside town remain in custody, Kent Police have confirmed. The man, whose identity remains unknown, is thought to have died after being hit over the head with a large stone during an altercation on the Isle of Sheppey, by the north Kent coast. He was pronounced dead after the attack at around 7pm on Sunday in the Warden Bay Road area of the Leysdown-on-Sea resort after an air ambulance was called to the scene. A 16-year-old girl and two boys, aged 14 and 15 were arrested on Sunday in Leysdown-on-Sea and questioned by police. Local residents in the area believe that during the altercation, the man was pushed to the ground, and a stone or slab of concrete was dropped on his head. Yesterday, specialist officers brought out a sniffer dog at the crime scene and investigated in Leysdown-on-Sea town centre near the arcade. On Tuesday, the cordon around the crime scene remained but there has been no obvious signs of further investigation. Locals have called the incident 'shocking' and many have said that 'nothing ever happens' in the area. A shopkeeper, working at Oasis Stores across the road from the incident said he had run out to help after his wife said someone was having a heart attack. He told the PA news agency that he had heard 'when he was on the floor they had thrown the big rock at him', adding: 'It's not fair on the man, he was just here for holidays.' However there is dispute among residents as to whether the man was in fact a local. On Monday, a group of holidaymakers were heralding a local called Dean as 'the island hero' for trying to save the man's life. Andrew Owen claims someone ran past Dean shouting 'I've done him' before Dean saw the man lying on the ground and shouted back 'you haven't just done him, you've f****** killed him'. Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses and anyone with information should contact the Major Crime Unit via the Major Incident Public Portal. Alternatively, contact Kent Police on 01622 652006 quoting 10-1384 or report anonymously via Crimestoppers.

Jury considering verdicts in trial of priest accused of sexual assaults

The jury in the trial of a former priest accused of sexually assaulting women has retired to consider its verdicts. Christopher Brain, 68, from Wilmslow, Cheshire, was the leader of evangelical movement the Nine O'Clock Service (NOS), part of the Church of England, in Sheffield between 1986 and 1995. He denies one count of rape and 36 counts of indecent assault between 1981 and 1995 against 13 women. Prosecutors say NOS became a cult where Brain abused his position to sexually assault a 'staggering number' of women followers, exerting control over their lives and ostracising them from friends and family. Inner London Crown Court previously heard that a 'homebase team' – referred to as 'the Lycra Lovelies' or 'the Lycra Nuns' – was set up to 'care for' Brain, with witnesses reporting seeing the defendant surrounded by attractive women in lingerie at his home looking after his needs. Brain told jurors earlier this month that this was 'completely untrue'. Prosecutor Tim Clark KC previously gave an overview of the alleged offences, relaying accounts from complainants who made various claims – including that Brain groomed them, would touch them during massages and re-enacted a film scene involving rape or sexual abuse over clothes. Brain told jurors that some massages, intended to be for 'tensions' on his body, could evolve into 'sensual touching', which he said was between friends and 'no big deal'. He denied touching anyone's breasts during massages while a part of NOS in Sheffield but admitted doing so after his involvement. Brain said this was consensual and not forced. Defence lawyer Iain Simkin KC asked Brain if he would continue touching someone sexually if they were uncomfortable and the defendant said he would not. Brain rejected testimonies from alleged victims that he had tried to control people by making them wear the same clothing or lose weight, or that he discouraged them from maintaining friendships. Asked if he tried to start a cult, Brain said he did not, adding that those involved were 'completely anti-cult'. Jurors were sent out to start their deliberations by Judge Freya Newbery on Tuesday just after 12.30pm.
